  1. Any chance this can work with a Tesla solar system or Powerwall as well if that's also connected to the Tesla app?
  2. Hi All - I ran a Smart Home Install shop for about 13 years and was a C4 Dealer from 2009-2020 (Composer 1.7.3 and the HC500/300/200 all the way to 3.0 and the CA1/CA10). I also have my Tech II C4 cert, C4 Panelized Lighting Cert and C10, C7, ACO and ACQ Licenses. Had to voluntarily quit the dealership status with C4 due to some personal issues but still have a mid-sized system in my home needing support. I have Composer HE and that works fine for what it is but I was hoping to get some support for stuff that I can't do as a non-dealer. I have a fried of mine who takes care of our system (he's still a C4 dealer) but he's busy often and is hard to track down. I was hoping I could get some remote support from someone here for a small issue I am having with the system. I totally get the minimum service call thing as I had one myself. I am fine with that as I no longer possess the program needed (Composer Pro) to troubleshoot myself. Main controller is an EA5 running Composer 3.4. I have 5x T3 in-wall TSs, 1x T3 mobile TS and 1x T4 in-wall TS in the project along with half a dozen EA1s and EA3s. I have a third gen Nest Thermostat that I kept on a Nest account until works with Nest was killed on 9/29 of this year. I got my dealer friend to convert it to the Nest drivers although I could tell he hadn't had a lot of experience with it. The good news is that control of the nest T-stat is working well and I am getting correct feedback on things like Current Temp, Heat and Cool levels, Eco mode etc. The bad news is that the current temp no longer comes up on the screensaver of any of the TSs or EA controllers that are set to view this info via Custom screensaver settings. The obvious fix is to look and make sure the new Google Nest Driver is binded at the room level at all these locations but I can't do that with Composer HE and my dealer friend hasn't responded back saying he's going to take a look at it. All was working fine before using the Nest Drivers and Works with Nest protocol. Thanks to all for any support!!
  3. Hi all - Ex-C4 dealer here that made some updates to my own personal system I still own. I am now trying to order keycaps for the half a dozen or so new C4 loads that I added to the project. My existing dealer was supposed to order them two weeks ago, but didn't. Rather than wait another two weeks, I am hoping I can order from a dealer on this forum and just have them sent to my house. I didn't have the dealer print out an XML keycap file because I have 60+ loads in the project and only need to update 6 or so. Thus, I have an Excel file breaking down everything I need. There are about 18 buttons total, 17 regular white and 1 black. Most are single high with a few double high keycaps and APDs thrown in as well. If I can order through you, please message me so I can send payment via Venmo or similar. Not expecting any kind of deal of anything so charge whatever you charge for keycaps. No need to put install labor in there-- I can install myself. Thanks for any help!!! C4 Engraving Order as of 01-30-23.pdf C4 Engraving Order as of 01-30-23.xlsx
  4. I have some stacked switches I want to get rid of and with the framing where it is, there's no ability to expand the box. From what I can tell, it seems like it comes in the square Euro version only. Anyone know? Thanks in advance!!!
  5. Well, it was important enough for Mark Ohlwiler to bring it up, review it, and show some examples at one of our local C4 trainings. That's the only reason I knew about it. I used it sparingly in my installs but I thought in certain situations it made sense. I do agree that timers can be very useful though.
  6. Hi Ryan - thanks for the reply. I remember seeing your name on the forums when I started as a dealer back in 2009. Had to give it up for some personal reasons a couple years ago so stuck with Composer HE I am. It's funny, in training the WHILE command was all the new rage. I guess it didn't quite turn out that way? My only regret is that since the HE manual wasn't updated to reflect this change, I spent A LOT of time looking for it that I didn't need to. I am trying to mimic a rotating color palette of some existing Converging system LEDs I have. If you know the system, you know this comes standard when you call Effect 3. The problem is that I am adding two more LED controllers (ILC400s) with much more processing power than the original system. Thus, if I call Effect 3 on all of them simultaneously, the two new ones cycle through the colors faster than the old ones do. Thus, I have to manually program the two new ILC400s with a slightly longer cadence between colors to match up the whole system (or drop $3k on a whole new set of controllers which I would rather not do). The only drawback I saw with a timer is I don't know exactly how long the sequence is and there could be some delay that could throw my manual programming off from the default converging systems programming. I have never checked a timers' status though which sounds like it will achieve what I am looking to do. I will play around with it and see if I can make that happen.
  7. I have been trying to do some programming for some LED strips that requires a "while" command. Basically, "continue looping through this activity while this condition exists." I read through the Home Composer Manual and it does specify how to do this. However, when I actually go into Compose HE (3.2.4) this function is not available. In fact, the whole "Looping" tab outlined in the HE instructions where this while command would be seems to be missing. Anyone else experience this? Is there a way to get this tab back? If not, is there another way to create the command in aggregate? Thanks for any advice on this. https://www.control4.com/docs/product/composer-he/user-guide/english/revision/T//composer-he-user-guide-rev-t.pdf The instruction for the While command are on Page 181-183.
