  1. Thanks for the reply and information. I was actually looking at something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FXBHH44/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Its a little more expensive but I do have the older AMP that doesn't have SPDIF inputs so this would be one device instead of an extender and a converter since it transmits the digital audio and has the options for analog out on the receiving end. I have several Roku's and have had great experience with the C4 integration so far and the TV already has IR control to the controller from a previous setup befo
  2. Merry Christmas everyone. Not a regular poster but regular reader. Was hoping for some advice as I am in the process of rearranging the setup at my house--specifically the Master Bedroom. My current setup is a TV and Roku Stick controlled locally by the Roku remote (no control from C4). I have two speakers in the room that are connected to a C4 8 Zone AMP that I would like to use for the TV audio. I was contemplating moving the Roku to the AV rack in the basement and then adding an audio extractor (to get RCA Out for an input for the C4 8 Zone AMP) and then use a HDBaseT extender to
  3. Can the triggers be added through Composer HE?
  4. I have 3 iPads running in dedicated mode and am really glad I went that way. I haven't had issues and love being to swap over to other apps--particularly Sonos for full functionality when listening to music. I purchased mine from the site below: http://www.vidabox.com/ipad-2-3-4-on-wall-mount-frame-permanent-dock.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Wattbox would be perfect but unless I am reading the specifications incorrectly it looks like it would still require ports to be opened so that it is addressable from outside the network and I don't have the ability to make changes to the network. I was hoping for something that creates an outbound connection to a hosted service that can then be used to access the device. Thanks for the leads so far, everyone. I appreciate it.
  6. Thanks for the recommendations. The power switch would be perfect but unfortunately I don't control the networks and can't port forward. I have a setup where I have installations on client networks that I don't control. Ideally, I was looking for consumer grade UPS or power switch that has a cloud management capability where the UPS or power switch initiates the connection to a backend service and can be managed remotely without a VPN or opening any ports. I can remotely connect to my installed devices this way however when I lose a connection I don't know if it is power related or the dev
  7. Does anyone know of a UPS with smart outlets that can be managed remotely? I know that APC has a network enabled Smart UPS that can be managed from the network that it is on but I am looking for a UPS that can be managed from another location and I don't have the ability to use a VPN. The device I want to be able to monitor and reboot is the device that establishes the VPN connection so if it is down, I don't have the ablilty to connect to the VPN network to get to the UPS. I want to be able to remotely connect to the UPS and kill power to the device and restore power if the device gets hu
  8. Thanks. Understood the limitation but didn't know if there was an issue with "daisy chaining" the AVR matrix with the 4x4.
  9. If I have a Binary 4x4 HDMI Matrix and I want to increase the number of inputs can that be done using an AVR I'm not using? My thought is that I would have additional sources plugged into the AVR and use the AVR's HDMI out as one of the inputs into the matrix.
  10. Newbie question on setup/best practices: I have an 8 Zone Amp plus 2 AV receivers to provide audio to 10 different rooms/zones in the house. Two of the inputs into the Amp are two seperate Sonos Amps (in case we want to listen to different music in different zones). We primarily listen to music through Sonos. In addition we have the new lighting keypads in all of the rooms where there is an audio zone. I'm looking for a way to program the system so that if music isn't already on in any of the rooms I can press a button on the keypad in that room and it starts a custom Sonos playlist. I al
  11. Hi All, New member here that just registered but wanted to throw my 2 cents in on the wall mounted iPad mini. I just added 3 VidaBox iPad Mini mounts powering the tablets via their POE adapter and have been very happy with them. I would have probably gone with the in wall frame http://www.theipadframe.com/ but I couldn't get a response from them on when they would be in stock. I have to say that the black Vidabox unit with a black iPad looks pretty slick. The Control 4 App works great and having it always running and available works so much better than grabbing a tablet or phone and starti
