  1. Greetings from the soggy NW, I have a 11 yr old system that I've done most of the work on with minimal help from my dealer who would rather not mess with any of it. I've kept up with the occasional system updates without any serious problems. So, I finally updated to 3.2.1 on my HC800 with no upgrade problems. However, I decided to tidy up a couple of loose ends and have run into some issues that are probably best to list: 1) Nearly all my switches are LDZ-101s. There were three 102s added later that show Type 101 in the static list, but show up as 102s when you hover the cursor over them. Is that due to an incorrect driver assigned? Two of three have 3.22.41 code installed, but one still has 3.20.14 that all the 101s have. That one also happens to be on the end of a fairly long reach for the Zigbee path. So, not sure if it is not getting the request for update, or not being asked because the controller thinks it is a 101. I'm assuming 3.20.14 is otherwise the newest code. 2) I have one 101 in a bank that went off line somewhere along the many updates and I never noticed because it controlled a couple of lights in a stair tower that didn't really need it. Tried the various resets with none doing much except the "hold bottom button while cycling the breaker." That caused the appropriate rapid flashing then the purple lights, then going back to steady blue (brighter on top and dim on the bottom). Subsequent 4 taps on top as part of identify didn't do anything. (I think it recognizes its addy.) 3) I have an unknown switch that I'm flummoxed as to what/where it is that shows up in the design. It may be a LSZ-3W1 hiding as a 101 that is intended as a 3way light switch in a guest bedroom. I haven't had a chance to pull it out to check a P/N. It shows steady brighter/dimmer blue on its two LEDs and they toggle when you press it. It doesn't ID with the 4-tap on the top button. Thanks in advance, if anyone can shed some light on these odd bugs.
  2. Thanks, RyanE. These were all built in to my home as part of the new construction, so they are all tied down properly. I'm mainly trying to avoid getting into a sorting problem with different suppliers on the LED side. I also noticed on another thread that there is a capacitor that would damp out the low power ripple if I get stuck on that off condition. These lights are on tracks, so if I get stuck, that may get me out of the bind as an after effect bandaid. I do expect the 'on' levels to be significantly lower for similar results.
  3. I'm about to convert 28 lamps of three different styles over to LEDs in a ceiling soffit. I have six old style C4 dimmers, so I'm concerned about the off flicker discussed here. I should have no problem with the 'on' load with at least four lamps on each switch, but I'm a bit confused by the comment that the off state flicker is expecting at least 25 watt load. Are the dimmers actually chopping the full 110V to a very short time interval such that the 'on' load is being seen by the switch? In the same vein, my old control settings were in the 45 pct., or higher level. Am I likely to see flicker at that level?
  4. Only the mp3 files make it through. All my music was ripped from my own CDs through my Mac, so I don't think unlocking is an issue. I don't specifically recall switching from one lossless format to the other. It might have been coincident to an iTunes upgrade along the way. I did find an Apple Knowledge Base article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550 which allows for conversion right within iTunes. If this works, I still need to decide to leave them all in their respective directories or do a blanket copy to a new library and do a mass conversion. (I don't really care what format gets used as long as it is lossless.) Cheers, h_sqd
  5. Thanks, SMH and Cyk. I did add the other file formats awhile back, but did not include AAC, but did include m4a. Now that I check it and rescan, it looks like everything is there. Now I am a little confused by the fact that, unlike TuneIn, there doesn't seem to be an obvious driver to connect the iTunes Library on the NFS besides Digital Audio. (This is where I have the most trouble clearly understanding the connection functionalities at the core of ComposerPro.) Any help there (like a pdf guide) would be appreciated. Cheers, h_sqd Follow up: After tweaking several elements and finally getting music to get all the way through the chain (and watching the display on my TV), I can confirm that .m4a and .aif song files are not being decoded by C4. Unfortunately, that is the bulk of my collection.
  6. Cyk, So, would you consider it reasonable to split out the audio and run it through the analog path while keeping the video in HDMI? (I'm assuming I can get the Anthem to accept that.) Right now, I am only sending TuneIn out of the HC800, because my iTunes Library is still in the forbidden .m4a and .aif formats and I haven't splurged for an external player. Cheers, h_sqd
  7. I have similar issues on my system. I have incorporated TuneIn on my HC800 with all (other) audio paths from all sources being passed through as HDMI to my preamp. The TuneIn sources are 10 dB or greater than other sources, so it is a major nuisance to adjust. (They also vary for station to station.) The point is: it would be nice to have a static, but tunable volume preset in the code to trim out the worst of the imbalances. For clarification, my system is run as one source at a time to an Amthem signal processor (preamp) to its three zones. My home is open, so I never need simultaneous sources. Cheers, h_sqd
