Read about Alexa integration on the C4 site.  It’s all explained.

Indeed.  But apparently you can use it to give a shout out to your favorite bugs/missing features, which is nice.
Better handling of security cameras please.  Telling customers on Day1 of their Control4 experience that they are better off viewing cameras in a separate app feels a bit of a punch in the face. Intercom still flaky after all these years. +1 on color wheel If only these were 'legacy technical debt'. 🤣

It’s good to know how things get prioritized; trolling and spite.

Any way I could troll you into getting a color wheel added? What a freakin joke.

This is comical. Control4 benefitted considerably by the EV integrations and others that were not authorized. You taking this attitude is a joke.
Considering all the ways to crack composer, you arent very good at your job.

There is a lot of technical debt and thanks for your work in pointing it out. 😉 Your help is appreciated. Not everything has been reviewed, but will be. Your work just bumped up the priority of the mobile apps and cloud interactions.

Understanding of unauthorized use? Nah, that is taken seriously.
Publishing an official doc condemning the integration followed by a legal cease and desist is something I could look into. Probably not what you were wanting by publishing official docs.
It's easier when the integration is approached honestly, otherwise my job is to ensure it is shut down.

Yeah its not like Control4 has ever used undocumented API's to talk to devices before......

Sounds like a call out and a challenge.
Honestly would have hoped you would have reached out like an honest and worthy integrator rather than shrug it off like it's moral.

Are you saying to just use Home Assistant as a front end to control4 or are you saying to migrate away from Control4 and to home assistant? Because they will still need a dealer if using home assistant as a front end to C4. If you are saying the latter then yeah it is an option but they will still need another lighting system regardless.
Why on earth would Control4 care about that?

You guys all missed the obvious answer 😄
"If you go there will be trouble.... If you stay it will be double..."
I know, no help.  But it had to be said.

Cause pretty sure the Alexa ring volume is higher then anything control4 could match. So why should Amazon care?

For which company? Cause Amazon don't care about Control4 integration. It take 2 to tango.

One of the previous "competition" to Control4 had touchscreens with built-in dimmers that fit in a light switch box.
I always thought it a bad idea to have a touchscreen at waist-high level.  Pretty much unusable unless you were a hobbit.

Thanks. Got it and replaced the power supply. Once I found the right screws, the rest was pretty easy. HC300 is now working, again. Given that this particular box serves as the ZAP coordinator, I figure I just saved myself about $2,000 for a new HC250 and all the associated dealer reprogramming of the mesh.

I had two HC300 units fail in the field in different locations and Control4 wanted $220 each plus shipping to repair them. Nothing against the repair department, but that is way out of line pricing.
For the DIY crew, the part number for the power supply board is PSA15LN3-050-R and can be had from Mouser for $19. There is a total of 4 screws inside and 8 outside to get to the board. The repair takes less than 10 minutes. At any electronic store, this is under $125 even with a markup and a minimum charge. I'm looking at $45 / unit with time and shipping accounted for.

AnOutsider reacted to AK1 in Remote Programming etc for you DIY Guys
There's been quite a bit of frustration expressed in this thread about getting programming done in a timely manner so i thought I would post about the remote stuff we have been doing for some time.

Through our company Coolabode, my partner Dave and I operate two C4 dealerships in Vancouver area, Canada and Melbourne, Australia. From my Vancouver location, I have worked for a number of forum members here doing remote programming in US, Canada, England and even more exotic locales such as Belize doing driver installs, problem solving and other bits and pieces. With my partner Dave Goralski in Melbourne, Australia, we have the experience to get things done quickly. We enjoy working with DIY guys. If we can be of assistance, please PM or email info@coolabode.com. We pretty much have 24x7 coverage of this email.

    Best,
    Andrzej Kowalski
