  1. I recently have installed the yale door lock, some additional lights, and the door chime. I was trying to program some stuff to turn on/off lights depending on time of day, motion from doorbell chime etc. Is there any docs that describe the features and what things mean ? For example: the motion of the chime I wanted to turn on outside lights. That doesn't seem to work what is the difference between yale lock manually and proxy. The manual I suspect is when some locks it with keypad, or the back. What is proxy ? Thanks
  2. The dealer said that the issue was the smart buttons, if they were replaced with dumb buttons then it is doable with the relay. He looked at it, and said it wasn't possible. I don't know the full story, just what he told me. So what openers work nicely with C4 other than the Genie that was mentioned above ? Maybe I will look at that route. I think the quote I got for the C4 work was around 300-400 Canadian
  3. Unfortunately I need 2 openers as we have two single car garages. So with the wifi systems from the garage door companies is there any benefit of having C4 integration ? What's the point ? other than one central spot I guess
  4. Okay good to know, I heard to that stuff stops working alot when one of them upgrade their software. Really I guess I don't need it integrated into C4, but tired of the family leaving the doors open at night. I would prefer not having to replace the openers but I wasn't sure what is cheaper - a C4 solution or just replace them with something that already has this functionality built in.
  5. I have an older garage door opener built by craftsman that my c4 installer mentioned won't work with the C4 garage door kit or using relays. The only solution they mentioned was to remove the smart buttons that trigger turning on the light etc and go with the plain/old fashioned buttons. Or replace the two openers with the newer garage door openers that have MyQ or one of the Wifi garage door kits. Thoughts, suggestions ? Ian
  6. Due to getting another C4 4Zone amplifier I have no need for a Sonos Connect amp in my system Located in Ottawa, Canada
  7. Like New EA-1 Controller for sale Not needed in currently system, bought it with a c4 4 zone audio amp and the guy had it in the package. Make me a reasonable offer Located in Ottawa, Canada
  8. I have my existing system with a C4 EA3 as my main controller. I have an older 4 zone amplifier that feeds 4 zones with audio. Can I add an extra one so that I can have 4 more audio zones, or do I need to buy the 8 zone amplifier ? Thoughts/comments. I probably won't need all 4 zones of audio but it would certainly handle any possibility expansion. The only reason I am thinking of adding it is a friend is selling that and an EA -1 as well for an amazing price. Not sure what I would do with the EA1. My system is: theatre room served by pioneer sc-07, epson projector and shares a bell fibe tv box with family room, apple tv, and blue ray player basement playroom and gym - sonos amp for audio kitchen (z1 of c4 amp) family room - sonos arc soundbar with tv (sharing the bell fibe box). in ceiling speakers not currently hooked up dining room (z2 of c4 amp) master bedroom (tv and also another c4 amp zone - z3) master bathroom (z4 of c4 amp) future backyard audio/patio getting a garage door relay (on order) c4 door chime (on order) yale front door lock (on order) Thanks,
  9. Yes everything in basement - I do have a patch panel with ethernet cables running from the basement to behind the TV. Four CAT 6 cables
  10. What are the benefits of putting an ea1 behind the TV in bedroom ? Just for the IR flashers ? Also is there a big jump to go ea5 over ea3 ? Or more for future proof ? Tks for the quick reply !
  11. I am thinking of upgrading to an EA-3 controller. Our project is pretty small so don't need the horsepower of a EA5. I use to have the sonos connect being used for TuneIn, Sirius, Spotify for my system, and I have a an older C4 4Zone amp powering a bunch of inceiling speakers. It seems with the EA3 the sonos connect becomes obsolete, is that correct ? Should I sell or trade in the sonos connect ? Also if I want to add additional speakers to other rooms, what is my best option ? I currently have 5 pairs of in ceiling, 4 powered by the c4 amp and one other one by a gen 1 sonos connect amp. Thoughts, suggestions ?? My project looks like the following: HC-300 and HC-250 (behind master bedroom TV), <-- replace both with a ea3 two key pads in kitchen and bedroom 10 light switches in various rooms, theatre, outside lights, dining room tv in family room connected to sonos arc tv in bedroom with a pair of inceiling speakers and keypad in hallway and inceiling speakers in master bathroom projector in theatre room with 3 dimmer light switches in ceiling speakers in kitchen in ceiling speakers in family room in ceiling speakers in basement playroom inceiling in family rm (currently disconnected due to nothing to power them and mostly using sonos arc if I want music) - any reason to hook them back up ?? Getting prices on doorbell chime for front door and yale lock and as well garage door relays so the wife doesn't leave them up all night long Thanks !
