Amr got a reaction from thecodingart in Network Connectivity Issues with NEEO Remtoe
Again, Sensibo a company that had designed their Gen 1 product with the same crap TI chip had replaced most of its units for free for early buyers like myself, of course $150 device is not like $500 but Neeo’s should be recycled with better radios and shipped back!

Amr got a reaction from dppeak in Finite Labs - Home Connect for Apple Home
That will be cool, I had a lot of stuff with the driver as well and some involved some programing in Home App itself, one of the greatest uses cases ever is Geofencing, I do a lot with this alone 🥹

Take a look @ the supported devices above, what are u missing from it? I have varietas as well, but the Jason; while is easy; still a code to write and maintain and supports less number of devices. I also use to have issues wth Blinds, not sure its fixed now or not.

A lot of ZB3 presence sensors exists, it require the use of HA as the integration layer then expose these in C4 with HA/C4 driver https://bphillips09.github.io/control4-ha-drivers/
Its in my to do list for a while, just can’t find the time to do it!

Everyone looking at this from a network issue. Do you listen to music at low volume and do you know if your amps are on auto sense or 12v trigger? I have this issue in my bedroom cause I don't have the time to switch the amp to trigger mode..

One question, are you experiencing any dropouts when playing your local music that is playing from the Mac File server?

Amr reacted to ekohn00 in BlueOS had finally added Pandora!
Smart DNS is legal in most countries. So unless you're currently in China, it's probably not a problem.

Amr reacted to ekohn00 in BlueOS had finally added Pandora!
This is an interesting take of MITM attacks. Technically MITM would sit between the user and the DNS to intercept and redirect. By using a Smart DNS, you ASSUME they a legit and not doing illegal redirects.

Amr reacted to Control4Savant in BlueOS had finally added Pandora!
I know Deezer is still pretty high up there on the list of subscriptions.

Amr reacted to Control4Savant in BlueOS had finally added Pandora!
That means what?
I am confused. I am not sure what you see but Pandora always being free and always compatible, it’s been a staple in most smart homes for a long time and widely used by most people I know in general..because again its free. Either way you are giving an opinion, Pandora is one of the most popular services in the US by statistics.

BlueOS 4.2 had finally added Pandora and Presto Music to their line up of music services! I had been waiting for this for years …

Amr got a reaction from neil12011 in Network File Storage & Dune Player. Definitely need help from the veterans on this one.
C4 had the issue of supporting SMB1 which was deprecated years ago for security reasons to SMB2 and SMB3 maybe 3.4 had pushed SMB2 and this might be your issue, your ancient Dune player doesn’t support SMB2!

Amr got a reaction from BY96 in Apple Music and Control4 Integration
Nothing gives my a pleasure than simplicity; so all native C4 is much appreciated and I have both Tidal and Deezer and pretty happy with both, don’t get me wrong I have everything integrated but fewer clicks is easier

Amr got a reaction from Rick Pretorius in Can you setup an EA3 without an working Ethernet port?
How is that possible? I mean damaging an Ethernet port must be a very unfortunate thing, I never experienced that before. RMA it to get it Repaired even if it’s out of warranty or source a used one from eBay.

Amr reacted to Leighm0 in T3 Touch Screen - Showing No Command, Factory reset but still same
My suggestion is to use v4.8 for the USB drivers attached, the reason is because sometimes these old T3 tablets do not get picked up with the newer Rockchip USB drivers properly and the Imaging fails to run successfully (just from my experience).
However you can also obtain v5.1.1 from here if you wish to give it a go: https://androidmtk.com/download-rockchip-driver-assistant
I have attached both files that I personally use.
RKDevTool_Release_v2.79.zip Rockchip_DriverAssitant_v4.8.zip

Amr got a reaction from bk in T3 Touch Screen - Showing No Command, Factory reset but still same
HYG: On a Windows PC/Laptop:
1)Install Rockchip_DriverAssitant_v5.1.1
2)Install RKDevTool_Release_v2.79
3)In RKDevTool open config file change language to 2, [Language] Selected=2, save file
4)Grap a Data Micro USB Cable, not power one, make sure of this to have successful flashing
5)Open RKDevTool, connect your T3 screen USB to computer while putting it in Flash Mode, for TT press “Power” with “Volume up” while plugging in the USB, for wall I think u press “Reset” while plugging in the USB to laptop or PC
6)It should show one device connected!
7)U go to Upgrade firmware tab, Use "Firmware" to load the image, then "Upgrade" to write the image to T3
8]It should show progress, wait till its 100% complete, and in the screen if all good it will say all is good, now the screen will be rebooted and u have ur T3 back!
9)If you keep getting "Match device type failed, stop running!" try pressing the switch button first in the tool then hit upgrade
10)Update/Downgrade to your latest OS3 release!
11)Google the programs, download and install, use this for T3 image: https://mega.nz/file/gaJl1IrY#pGEN1sIxxyL9v8hXQx9lbNlyZ4rVfHAXBBCcOE1rpMY
You will thank me later, I have a PayPal if you want to donate 🤓 as I had just lost a cheap source of bricked screens that I bought over the past year!

I have a mixed results with Infuse, I love it but it caches on your ATV, if u have lots of Apps and your ATV is 32GB, u will need to look else where aka Plex as Infuse will always reload contents and it’s annoying!

Amr reacted to WhyPhy in Music on C4
I reached out to a friend who works at Apple and have some more details. Last year, Apple released updates to their developer tools that allow third party developers to incorporate more Apple Music functionality into third party apps. These tools are Apple Apple MuiscKit and Apple Music API. These tools work with iOS apps, Android apps, and JavaScript apps. A Control4 integration would most likely use the JavaScript client/server implementation (control panel/smartphone app being the client, C4 Director being the server).
There is a data share requirement: the user must agree to share their personal Apple Music data (i.e. personal music library details) with the third party developer (i.e. Autonomic/Sonos/Control4.) There are no data share requirement for the third party developer to send any data back to Apple, and looking through the API documentation, there are no provisions for even doing so. There are also no ads or pop-ups. The only requirement is, after a user signs in with an account that does not have an active Apple Music subscription, to inform the user that the subscription is inactive and that subscription activation is required to play music.
All of this information is available on the Apple Developer website: Apple MusicKit, Apple Music API
Here are the key takeaways:
The Autonomic integration appears to be a fully authorized integration (using Apple MusicKit and Apple Music API) There are no data sharing requirements for third party developers to send data to Apple New functions were added last year that enable more comprehensive third party integrations Third parties must do some development work to enable these features, but it appears to be very straightforward and well documented, and reference libraries are available Given this, the big question isn't can Control4 can enable native Apple Music Support, but rather if and when Control4 will enable native Apple Music Support.

Without drifting more on the topic, there are good and excellent alternatives to Apple Music also the work arounds are there so we are not totally without Apple Music so a couple of clicks won’t hurt!
