  1. If I scroll to the "External" room on one of my T3 navigators, I can see a padlock button which shows whether my front gate is open or closed (and I can click on it to open/close it).  I would like to add this button to the screen for another room ("Kitchen") for a number of reasons, including convenience and making sure my wife can use it!  How do I do this please?  I have Composer HE.

    Thank you!

  2. Sorry for what I am sure is a very basic question but I am struggling for some reason...  I have a command in Composer which is effectively "If [variable] EQUAL TO [value]" which a dealer setup for me - I just want to copy this and edit the value so I can replicate the same action with a different value - I can copy the programming (both the IF function and the resulting actions) but I cannot figure out how to change the value.  How do I edit this please?

    Thank you!

  3. I have the Hikvision driver from Chowmain and my dealer setup the ANPR in C4. The camera has a watchlist and when one of these license plates is triggered, it notifies C4.

I had an initial list of two cars to do one action and two cars for another action - the programming in Control4 has 4 individual conditional statements (1 for each car) - ie if the Hikvision driver notifies license plate X, then do Y. This all works well.

However, I want to add a longer list of license plates. Do I need to add them all to the Hikvision watchlist and repeat the C4 programming for each individual license plate?

in C4, can it lookup a Control4 list (or be an OR statement)? I would like something which I can easily edit. This still leaves me adding license plates to both Hikvision and C4 (a hassle but not an issue).

If needs be, I could change the setup so every license plate has the same action - could I then use the camera’s watchlist so the camera notifies C4 when one of these license plates is triggered and then C4 doesn’t care what the license plates is but just runs the action whenever it receives a prompt from Hikvision?

    Thanks!

  4. I realise this is getting very specific and potentially excessive but in case anyone is interested, I wonder whether the Yamaha MusicCast vinyl player and the Yamaha WXC-50 pre-amplifier (or WXA-50 integrated amplifier) would work? I think the WXC devices are designed to provide MultiCast features (eg Spotify streaming and airplay) to legacy sound systems but could they be used as an input to the Triad audio matrix to support MultiCast devices like the vinyl player on the network?

errr.... it's a record player. It streams OUT to an Airplay receiver.

That was my assumption but I think RAV is right - reading the manual, the record player acts as an airplay receiver but it does not stream out to an airplay receiver.

  6. Unfortunately audio baluns won’t work (as far as I am aware) - I use them elsewhere in the house but this Ethernet cable goes to a secondary switch which is not in the rack location (and this secondary switch is connected to the main switch with a fibre link through a duct under the house foundations). Are there audio baluns which operate over IP?

I’ve wondered why there isn’t something like the opposite of a Triad 1 - take an audio input and send it over IP to the Triad matrix as another input…?

  7. Thanks for the replies. An integrated setup would appeal but it sounds difficult! We have OS3.2 with an EA5 as the central processor so I don’t think the HC250 works. An EA1 just for this seems a bit excessive but out of curiosity, would this work over the network or does it need to be connected directly to the speakers’ matrix/amplifier?

    Thanks

  8. My son would like to have a turntable in his room (vinyl pleases him for some reason!). He has Triad ceiling speakers and he has an Ethernet socket in his room. However, the ethernet cable in his room connects to a secondary switch which is not in the rack location (the two switches are connected by a fibre cable). I have an old AppleTV in the rack so use Airplay for other wireless audio.

Is there a turntable with airplay built in? Or any other suggestions?

    Thank you!

  9. Hello,

I have Lutron lighting and I am trying to activate a lighting scene on certain Control4 events.  In Composer HE I have "Press Button: [8] on [Room]->[Keypad name]" as part of a sequence of actions - the other actions work and I can change the lighting manually to a specified level but this button press does not work (and I have tried a couple of different button numbers).  Really what I want to achieve is for the lighting scene to be active (rather than a Control4 specified lighting level) so that Lutron recognise the lighting scene and will, for example, turn off the lights if the relevant scene on the Lutron keypad is pressed again (currently, Control4 sets a specified lighting level and then I need to select another scene on the Lutron keypad first to activate this scene and then press it again to turn the lights off).

Is there something I am doing wrong with the Composer programming?

    Thank you

  10. Reading the description on Blackwire, can you only show one calendar?  We have multiple calendars - a personal calendar, one for my wife and me, another for all the family including kids, etc. - if multiple calendars are available on one google account, can the driver show them all?

Also, the screenshots on Blackwire are all from the Control4 app on a phone - I assume this displays well on a T3/T4 screen?

    Thank you!

  11. Hello,

Am I able to configure my SR260 with Composer HE?  I want to be able to configure what happens on "Room Off" and the custom buttons.  I couldn't see an explanation of how to do this in the Composer HE userguide and the SR260 manuals refer to "system design view" which I assume is a Composer Pro option because I can't see it in HE.

    Thank you

  12. Thanks everyone. I got four Ethernet cables installed so can use one for controlling an HDMI switch. I have a fibre HDMI cable from this location back to the Lumagen video processor

So I think my options are:

    1) IR controlled HDMI switch, using a CAT6 cable core to run the IR bud back to the plant room. If this doesn’t work, the Global Cache IR over Ethernet devices look fine

    2) RS232 controlled HDMI switch, using a RS232/Ethernet adapter. I found ZuumMedia but couldn’t actually find anywhere to buy their switch

    3) IP controlled HDMI switch

Any recommendations on a 4K HDMI switch with at four inputs and a Control4 driver? The Zettaguard switches mentioned above are not available in the UK

    Thank you

  13. I am working on a home cinema room. Below the screen, going back to a Lumagen Pro in the rack, I have an HDMI cable (as well as power and aerial/satellite cables). My original intention had been for a console to go in this location below the screen.

I don’t know why but why I forgot to specify Ethernet ports here so my electrician is going to try to run two Ethernet cables to here.

The issue is I have now realised that my children play 2-3 consoles (Xbox, Switch and even the old Wii). I thought I could have an HDMI switch located next to the consoles and C4 could control this (as well as the Lumagen) to select the correct source.

But my EA5 which will provide the OSD for this room is in the rack so I can’t use an IR bud to control the HDMI switcher. Is there an IP controlled HDMI switcher, preferably with WiFi or even better a built-in Ethernet hub, which has drivers for Control4?

I found expensive HDMI matrixes but these are overkill for what I need.

Or are there better ideas? I could ask the electrician to run 4 Ethernet cables if necessary.

    Thank you

  14. I have T3s using the wall smart bracket so they are flush with the wall. Is it possible to upgrade to a T4 without causing damage to the wall? If it just means replacing the wall smart bracket, that could be feasible but if the wall smart dimensions are different so the wall needs work, it is much harder! Thanks

  15. I am not a Texecom expert but have the same setup as you (but did it the other way round - SmartCom for the app and then added Control4). I understand the app needs SmartCom so you will need to swap C4 over to the ComIP. I have part arms setup through Control4 and notifications (although I think I need to work more on these) - I’ve never looked at history.

crustyloafer helped me with some remote Texecom configuration and events.
