  1. Great. Is there anything which describes what it does? In particular, can you control the apps like iPlayer, etc? Thanks!
  2. This is a very old thread but does anyone know if the NowTV Smart Box work with C4’s Roku driver? I want an ethernet port so can’t use Roku Express and Roku Ultra is not available in the U.K. Thanks
  3. What makes the Triad better than V3? I am also wondering whether to buy a secondhand V3 or wait to buy a new Triad in the future... Do these need to be setup by dealers or can I do it? Thanks!
  4. SolarEdge (http:// http://www.solaredge.com) seems to be a popular solar generation monitoring system with an API. Is anyone interested in creating a driver for it? It would be great to know when lots of solar energy is being generated and then trigger high energy use equipment. One such use would be to charge an electric car when solar power is generated. Renault have an API for My Z.E. which allows for starting charging.
  5. I had been looking at the Triad audio hardware (particularly the 24 zone audio matrix/switch and the 8 zone/16 channel amplifier and Triad R20 in-ceiling speakers). However, having run out of money after a house-build (which has holes in the ceiling and cables for speakers...) I am looking at secondhand alternatives. One option I have found does not specify the equipment model numbers but includes a Control4 multichannel amplifier and some other equipment (see attached picture) as well as lots of speakers. The speakers are QInstall Qi65C. Can anyone comment on whether this would be just a waste of money on old equipment? Also, the bundle comes with speakerpoints - I have speaker cabling back to a central location where the amplifier would be - I assume I can just ignore/on-sell the speaker points? Thanks very much for your help!
  6. Did you manage to resolve this? I am buying a TV shortly and would like to get the 2019 Frame (in the UK) if it works with Control4... Thanks
  7. I was also planning to get one of these TVs in the U.K. in the next few weeks but I also know someone else with one - is there a setting option I can get them to check which would answer the question regarding whether IP control is available?
  8. Thank you - I think I am clear for now. Was there anything tricky you had to do to get the SmartCom to connect to Control4 after using the app or did it just start working with the Control4 driver immediately and dropped the app functionality? Thank you
  9. Yes - thank you! Also consistent with a call I just had this afternoon with a Texecom support and I just hadn’t had a chance to post yet - the SmartCom will allow for app control OR Control4 interface but not both. If you want both, you need to install both the SmartCom and the ComIP. I would like app control initially before the C4 system is set-up so I think I go for the SmartCom and then can swap to using C4 only later. Thank you
  10. My alarm installer is insisting that I need IPCom to interface with Control4. Does anyone have any documentation which refutes this other than me just saying Gary’s system works?! Thanks
  11. Pg 9 of the manual indicates that the SmartCom incorporates the reporting functions of IPCom. They still sell IPCom so presumably there is something extra that IPCom provides? https://www.texe.com/uk/uploads/INS760_Texecom_Connect_Guide_2.pdf
  12. I am having a new Texecom alarm installed next week and my alarm installer is saying I need IPCom to interface with Control4 - it sounds like this is not correct and I just need SmartCom? Is SmartCom the upgraded IPCom and IPCom is now redundant? Thanks
  13. Does this driver allow for control of mini apps? I am looking for a device to play iplayer, Netflix, etc with an Ethernet port (Roku Ultra is not available in the U.K.) so could use Apple TV which would have the added benefit of AirPlay, etc Thanks
  14. Grohe have a solution which I had not seen before. It works with Nest so does this mean someone could also integrate it into Control4 (I don't have any Nest equipment)? https://www.grohe.co.uk/en_gb/smarthome/grohe-sense-guard/
  15. Yes - sorry - when I moved from Tapatalk (which won’t let me post at the moment) to the website, I accidentally picked the wrong forum. Thank you - this is helpful. Two button presses to get to a menu is probably okay for some of the buttons so I don’t need a big hard panel. Thank you
  16. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am planning a new C4 project and want to have several buttons near where a 10” T3 touchscreen will be. Can this driver be used to create custom buttons which show as the home page for the T3 when the screen is touched? If so, I wouldn’t need the physical button panel and could just use the touchscreen. My wife would hate going through menus though so if it cannot be the home screen, it doesn’t work for me. Thanks
  17. Where you need to control quite a few motors (10+), does it make more sense to use one or two of these controlbyweb devices with the Chowmain driver or two Control4 IO extenders? Reliability is key but cost, cable run lengths and rack space are considerations as well. Thanks
  18. I have been trying to find any product with a water shut-off valve which work in the U.K. which works with Control4 - I have looked at the websites for the five mentioned above and have contacted Damit and Watercop but none of them serve the U.K. market. It is a fairly straight forward and not expensive process to have the valve tested and approved for the U.K. and nothing else would need to change so I don’t understand why none of these companies have done it.
  19. Where do you see details of C4 integration/a C4 driver for this lock? I have been planning a motorised multi-point lock and we're looking at an ekey fingerprint reader which could be integrated into C4 but a lock that is natively integrated into C4 would be better. Thanks!
  20. Given cost does not appear to be a primary concern, I am not sure why you wouldn't go for a Kaleidescape system? If I were you, I would buy a cheap secondhand kaleidescape system and trade it in so you get grandfathered DVD rights on a Premiere line Kaleidescape system and add a Strato - this way you would have all your DVDs and blurays (which I assume you mean by "backed up sources") and access to the download store (which is getting better and better) and 4K on the Strato with the benefit of a single system which gives you the most flexibility now and in the future. Depending on how large your movie collection is, you can decide on the right storage capacity for you. You can also add a Roku Ultra for streaming other TV shows, etc. Just my 2 cents...
  21. I am thinking about the design for a Control4 system in our newbuild house. We have never had Sky before (we have always used Freesat) but I am looking for simple and comprehensive integration so the family don't complain or get confused. I am wondering whether this driver is the best route to TV integration with Control4 in the UK so I should buy Sky as a result. Or is there a similar Control4 integration for a Freesat box? Thank you
  22. Tell my boss that j/k. Anyway drivers almost finished. Just need to fit development around my project management / integration duties. Are these drivers available? I tried emailing RecluseAV who I thought had published them but hadn't heard back so perhaps I contacted the wrong people. We are planning to have an ekey reader in our new front door and wanted to integrate it into Control4. Thanks!
  23. Yes - it sounds like the only option is the more expensive ECKey and Houselogix solution if I want to do everything. Thanks
