  1. Thanks D-Lite for your comments, We will give the driver a try as soon as my dealer can come again to my home. Meanwhile I can reply some of the points: 1. The driver version we are using is 120 (running on C4 2.10.6) so I believe this is not the issue then. 2. I have 126 zones. We will try with 180 seconds. 3. I will take note of this in case I am able to leave the driver fully functional. 4. This is my main issue. I have more or less 50 contact sensors for the security blinds, 50 contact sensors for the windows, 5 door/ gate contact sensors and the rest are motion sensors. During the day all 50 blind contact sensors are open and if it summer almost the 50 of the windows. In this situation the alarm is not activated but when the garage gate or some of the street doors is opened I receive a notification on my mobile. So this is the scenario where I need that, as soon as a gate is opened I receive the notification on my mobile. When we tried the driver we did it in this scenario (almost 80 zones opened). I can try to do it, as you suggest, with all zones closed, but I am sure that it will work in that situation since it will be the only opened zone. I am sure that the zone binding was correctly done since, as mentioned on my previous post, If I continually move in from of the motion sensor at some moment the light turned on. This was exactly when the alarm panel, during its cycling through all the open zones, showed the zone of the motion sensor. I am not sure if I am clear explaining this. Do you have any programming that is triggered when a zone is opened (like a motion sensor)? Is this working? Thanks!
  2. Finally, after several months of delay, my HSIM arrived to Argentina so I can now share my experience with this device and driver. Unfortunately my experience is not good. Or we are doing some incorrectly, or the driver has not some basic capabilities an alarm driver must have (from what I ready on this forum many people use this feature I believe the HSIM is lacking) I am currently running version 2.10.6, not being able to upgrade to 3.X due to this driver. First the good news: the installation of the HSIM to the alarm panel and the recognition by my C4 system was very easy. It worked at the first attempt and it was able to read all the zones from my alarm panel with no problems But when checking the zone status on C4 touchscreen the first problem appears. I have 126 zones on my alarm panel and the zone status screen was not reporting the correct information. I understand that this is mainly due to the "Zone Close Timeout", which I quote below, so I was expecting to adjust this setting to solve this issue. "Zone Close Timeout - The HSIM module is connected to the keypad bus. It receives information about open zones on the partition through the bus interface. The Honeywell security panel does not directly provide information about zone open/close events. However, because the module is connected to the keypad bus it receives periodic broadcasts from the panel listing the 'open' zones. The driver captures this broadcast and uses it to set the zone state to open. If a subsequent broadcast shows the zone is no longer open, the driver sets the zone state to closed. The Zone Close Timeout property defaults to 30 seconds. If you are getting false positive 'closed' events on zones it will be necessary to increase the timeout value. It is important to note that the longer the polling cycle, the more potential latency between knowing when zones are closed. However, if it's too short and the panel isn't responding quickly enough, the driver will report open zones as closed." But before doing this, we tried what is one of the most important reasons for me of integrating C4 and the alarm system, that is to bind C4 sensors to the alarm sensors. In this way I can trigger an action on C4 based on the open/ closed status of the sensor. I use this mainly to receive "security" notifications of when a door is opened or left opened for some time. So, in order to try the HSIM we bound a C4 motion sensor to the motion sensor in the room I have all my racks. When the motion sensor detects motion the light is supposed to turn on. I currently have this programed like this with my 4232 CBM module and it works instantly. But with the HSIM nothing happened.........I activated the alarm motion sensor and the lights did not turn on. Going back to the status of all zones, the information displayed on Honeywell's panels is the following: a) On my Honeywell Vista Tuxedo touch panels the status of all the zones is showed perfectly at a glance. If al zones are closed and one or two are opened this is immediately reflected on the screen. b) On standard keyboards the open zones are showed one by one on a sequential form (one after the other). So I tried something. .....I started moving in front of the motion sensor while looking at one of the standard Honeywell keyboard. Nothing happened, so I keep on moving. The room's light only turned on when the keyboard display showed that the corresponding zone was opened. This means that the "standard keyboard" not only shows the open zones one by one due to space limitations on the small screen but this is due to some kind of sequential check of the status of the zones. This totally matches to what C4 mentions about the zone status and "Zone Close timeout" which I quoted above from the driver's documentations. Unfortunately only now I understand correctly the limitation of this. From further searching on the internet I believe that: - Tuxedo and 4232CBM use ECP (Enhanced Console Protocol) to communicate with the panel and - Standard Honeywell Keyboard and HSIM use a "standard protocol" where this instant zone status is not available. Is this correct or my understanding is incorrect? If it is correct, why C4 developed a driver for 3.X for the HSIM which has less features than the 4232CBM, and not for the latter. I really hope somebody corrects me and tells me that the HSIM is capable of doing what I need since if not my only possible course of action if to change the panel for a DSC Neo. Looking forward to your comments!! Best regards Fernando
Gracias Saludos
  4. Hi all I need to replace one of the coolers on my Videostorm encoder VTX100. The housing/ case of the fan is not square.(please see pictures attached). Does someone know where to find a replacement? Thanks!! Enviado desde mi SM-G975F mediante Tapatalk
  5. Thanks Dlite for your comments! That isf good news for me. My dealer confirmed today that they were able to buy the HSIM in USA and will be sending it to Argentina next week hopefully. I am not sure when they will be able to install it since here the quarantine due to COVID19 is very strict and only essential workers are allowed to do so. I am not sure if I understand correctly the strange behaviour you mention. I have 50 windows at home, and I am using 50 zones for the contact sensors for the windows itself and 50 zones for the security blinds on each window. The remaining zones are basically motion sensors around the house, and 6 more contact sensors for my outside doors and garage gates. At night all the zones, except the inside motion sensors are activated (not bypassed). In this scenario I do not care whether a zone delays 30 seconds in closing in Control4, I am only concerned here in the opening. In the day, the alarm is not activated but I have bound the garage gates and exterior gates contact sensors to Control4. In this scenario I need that the opening and closing of these zones is reflected immediately for security reasons. Since all the contact sensors on the windows plus some motion sensors around the house will be opened, does this mean that the closing of one of these garage gate zones will delay to show the closing in Control4? Anyway, for the time being it is the only option I have to be able to migrate to 3.X so I must have to survive with this until COntrol4 releases some update to the 4232 Commercial driver or I migrate to a DSC NEO (not a fan of doing this. Good to know COntrol 4 supported on this hardware installation! Thanks!
  6. the question is if it would be remedied at some time or not. As you can see from the other comment some people think this would not be the case. Thanks!
  7. Hi mstafford388, Thanks for your comments! It would be really a pitty that a I need to change my Security panel on a 5 year home when this panel was supported by Control4 when I took the decision on which panel to use. Anyway, I do not want to enter on a discussion on Control's commercial policies, but more on the technical aspects of these two drivers. I take note that you mention that "some features where not working" but this is the strange part, since the Residential version of Driver had all the features working perfectly with the only exception of the partion and zone quantity limits. I can arm, disarm, bind motion sensors so to turn light on, bind contact sensor to report opn/ close status, etc. Are these limits self imposed by Control 4 due to some license/ commercial reasons or is it a technical limitation? If I would have a 128BPT panel with let us say 1 partition and 60 zones, the "Residential" driver would work perefectly. Hoping my dealer can buy the HSIM (it seems SnapAV only sells it in USA) so that I can give it a try. Thanks!
  8. Hi everyone, Sorry to come back on this topic but I could not resolve it yet and I am stuck with a newly bought CA-10 which I cannot use until I solve this issue. I cannot migrate from version 2.10.6 to 3.0 due to lack of full compatibility of my Honeywell Vista 128BPT with 3.0 My security panel is currently integrated using the 4232CBM model an working perfectly on 2.10.6 with Control 4 driver. I have 2 partitions, the first one with 123 zones and the second one with 3 zones. On this topic https://www.c4forums.com/topic/30494-30-honeywell-vista-128-bpt-houselogix-driver/page/4/#comments there has been some discussions on the best way to connect it to Control 4 3.0 and apparently the only way is using the HSIM module. I have already asked my dealer to buy it so that we can give it a try (not sure why he is taking so long to import it), but I am not completely sure it will work perfectly with the zone status reporting on real time, this is way I am coming back on this issue now that a commercial version of the 4232CBM driver has been released. On 3.0 there are two drivers from Control 4, the 4232 CBM (Residential) and the new (may 2020) 4232 CBM (Commercial). 4232 CBM (Residential): We tried it at home and everything works, including the zone status reporting, the only problem for me (remember I have only 2 partitions of the 8 supported by 128BPT) is that it "reads" up to Zone 89. 4232 CBM (Commercial): As the driver documentations mentions it does NOT support for the Zone status. My doubts are: a) Why the 4232 CBM Residential can work perfectly with the 128BPT (Commercial) except for this issue of the limited Zone quantity. Is it really so difficult to increase this limit? b) Why the 4232 CBM Commercial cannot even read 1 Zone from the Vista Panel? c) On the 4232 CBM Commercial driver's documentation it mentions "Note that Zones page in Composer Pro and Navigators are not supported in this release of the driver". Does this mean that there will be another release of the driver which will support it? Thanks!! Regards
  9. Hi Ejn1!, The truth is that I did not even try to make a claim to DLI. I live in Argentina and things are not so easy in my country with couriers and returning things. They charge you almost 50% of taxes of the invoice amount when the product arrives and there are also some limitations to enter electrical products. To import this first DLI was really a nightmare, so I did not even consideres the option or returning it to USA (in case DLI accepted the return) and then importing a new one. I thing that I will go with the option of buying a Pakedge one to my local dealer. Much more expensive but at least it will have a local warranty and the will handle all the logistics.
  10. Hi AMR, I am not sure this is bad luck. The two frist DLI PDUs where sold and installed by my dealer. In addition to the PDU that failed in my house he had many others on other homes which also failed. This is why he decided to stop selling DLIs and only offered Pakedge now. Since the price difference is too big I decided to buy my myself the replacement DLI on amazon hoping that this time it will work. Unfortunately this new one only lasted some months. Maybe there is some issue with the 220v version.
  11. Hi, I have bad experiences with DLI. I have two racks with 1 smart PDU from DLI on each one. These racks started functioning on 2105. At some moment on 2019 one fo the PDUs stopped working. I live on Argentina where it is no so easy to import electrical equipment from other countries. I could finally replace it on december 2019 with the following model https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BG2KFEG/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_i_0araFbYXVS85M It is exactly the same as the one I removed with exception of the buttons that are thicker now. Around 4 month later it stopped working.....it is on cotinuous loop of constantly rebooting. I did a factory reset but this did not solve the problem. 1 of the 2 orifinal PDUs is still working with no problems. So Wattbox and DLI are not reliable....what about pakedge, cyberpower, trip litte? Thanks!! Enviado desde mi SM-G975F mediante Tapatalk
  12. As far as I know the driver you are using is compatible with 0S3 so it is correct that the compatibility test does not mention any problem with this driver. But, it is not compatible (or at least not approved) for the 128/256 BPT panels since these are commercial panels and not residential. Having said that, my dealer tried this driver in my house (2.10.6) and the driver could communicate correctly with the 128BPT panel (using the 4232CBM module) but only "imported" 32 zones from the panel. Since I am using 126zones (123 in partition 1 and 3 in partition 2) and there was no way to be able to "import" all of them he deleted the driver and went back to the old driver (old proxy). So I cannot tell you if it would have worked or not. If you are planning to add more panels, and still haven't bought them maybe it would be better to buy one of the residential paneles that are mentioned on the Driver documentation.
  13. Dear Robeng32, I agree with you, the 128BPT with the 4232CBM Driver works perfectly in 2.10.6. Concerning the migration to the HSIM and OS3, I would really appreciate if you could update on how the Driver is working once you are able to set it up correctly with the alarm company. Please see my previous post and try it with the minimum setting of the "Zone Closure Timeout" property to see if the closing status of zones updates immediately. Looking forward to your good news!! Thanks
  14. Thanks Dlite for your comment. The behaviour you mention is rather errátical, I need the driver to report immediately or almos immediately (within 1 sec) Do you know what value is set at the "Zone Closure Timeout"? I am attaching a screenshot of the properties of the HSMI Driver where apparently this value can be modified. I cannot se what is the minimum value but maybe it is 0 or 1 sec and that could be "almos immediate". Thanks!!
  15. Ok. But my understanding is that cbm driver is only compatible with residential Vista Panels and not with the 128BPT that is commercial. We tried that driver and it was able to communicate with the 128BPT panel but only for a limited amount of zones ( i think 32zones). I am using 126 zones of the panel. Is is possible that a dealer or a driver developer edits this driver to allow dor more zones? Or is it encrypted by C4? Thanks! Enviado desde mi SM-G975F mediante Tapatalk
  16. Sorry, justo to reconfirm, you are talking about the HSIM driver no? Thanks!
  17. Thanks msgreenf!! That is great news. Can you please comment also if it worked on 2.10.6, in this way I could ask my dealer to first install the HSIM module and try it. Once it is working we can then upgrade to os3 Thanks!!
  18. Dear Robeng32, Can you please confirm that the 128BPT panel you have with the 4232CBM module is on OS3? When the compatibility test to migrate to OS3 is runned it says that it is incompatible with 4232CBM. Is it working correctly or with faults? If it works why will you migrate to the HSIM module? Thanks!
  19. Thans Dlite for your post!! I have a 128BPT panel connected using the 4232CBM module and has been working great. Unfortunately I am stuck at version 2.10.6 since my understanding (and dealer) was that there was no driver for the 4232CBM on Control 4 3.X version. We were aware of the HSMI module but I recall that some people here told there were problems to obtain the status of closed zones immediately, that it was on a polling/ timer, which is not useful for me since I need immediate notification of the opening and closing of zones (I am using Notification Suite with Pushover which woks great by the way). I cannot find now the exact post where I read about this, but going into Houselogix's web in the following link http://www.houselogix.com/shop/hsim-dsc-honeywell-and-ademco-security-integration-module you can read on the second item of the Dealer notes the following: Dealer Notes Control4 driver is NOT compatible with the end-of-life HHIM. Due to the limited information we receive from the zones of the Honeywell panel, we are not able to track zone closed events in real-time. If there are multiple open zones and you close one, you will not see that close event until the integrated timer we have in Control4 expires. This does not apply to opening and closing a single zone or DSC since they report zone closures real-time. We fully support the HSIM module and Control4 driver, however we cannot provide technical support for the security panel and associated alarm programming; please contact your security processional or distributor if you have alarm related questions. Not intended for life safety applications. This is why (underlined part) we always preferred the 4232CBM module over the HSIM. But going now onto the Snapav web page (https://www.snapav.com/shop/en/snapav/security-integration-module-hsim-a) I cannot find any mention to this Dealer's note. I would appreciate if somebody can clarify: a) If the Dealer's note on Houselogix webpage was correct or it has never had that problem. b) If this problem has been solved on version 2.10.6 of Control 4. I am asking this to see if I can try the driver before migrating to the latest 3.X version. c) It the problem has not been solved on version 2.10.6, that it has been solved now in version 3.X. Looking forward to your comments since I have a brand CA-10 with a Neeo Remote waiting until we can solve this incompatibility with the 128BPT to be able to migrate to version 3.X Thanks! Regards
  20. Thanks Dunamivora for your comments. Let us see if someone from Control4 can clarify this issue. Enviado desde mi SM-G975F mediante Tapatalk
  21. As somebody mentioned here, I never understood why it was not possible to have a backup controller to take over automatically if the main controller failed. I have, as main controller, an EA5, but there is also the "old" HC 800 that I kept in the project, mainly for i/o and the zigbee for the remote control (I do not have a zigbeee mesh since all lighting in my home is panelized). Yesterday night my Intercom was not working well so I rebooted the EA5 by unplugging it (I hate to do this but, as far as I know it is the only way for end users to do it). The EA5 never came back to life and the "Caution Led" (triangle) was blinking red, which according to my dealer means that the "Factory Reset" failed. Strange, since nobody attempted to do a factory reset. Today morning my dealer came and now yes he tried to make a Factory reset but the same error appeared. So he changed the EA5 and everything worked again. Having a big project with many lights, security blinds, cameras, Videostorm, 3 alarm panels etc etc. not having the system working is a real headache. So, if Control 4 decided not to implement a backup controller I would surely purchase a CA-10 (In spite of the high price) since I really do not want my system to fail. Many years ago the PCs sometimes had some problems with the Bios and will not boot up. This problem was solved with the motherboards with Dual Bios and I have never see another PC failed because of this. Being the controller basically a PC with some other features, does someone know if the EA5 has something similar to the Dual Bios (I guess he answer is "no", due to what just happened to my EA5). And what about the CA-10; I see that it has redundant power supply, two NICs, two fans, and two SSD where project is stored with mirrored RAID configuration. But what about the firmware of the controller, is it also redundant? Thanks in advance for your comments!! Regards
  22. No, it would not change the outcome. But when something is really hard to believe/ understand I believe people here can double or triple or .....check if they understood correctly. I don't know if yo read my post but I have around 5 HC250s only for zigbee access by the remote controls and ir blast. My io extenders are already sucked at 2.9.1 while my project is at the last 2.10 version. They are working both fine simultaneously. Why cannot HC250 work with at least some of their capabilities keeping it stuck at 2.10.....? I don't see why this could be an invalid question....so please let it pass if you are only going to question my question... Thanks Enviado desde mi SM-G975F mediante Tapatalk
  23. I wish too. Of the two points you mention IO and Zigbee extender some other members replied you that you could replace the HC-250 by an IO extender. Yo already clarified that you would like not only some IO but also a controller that is able to run a project. In my case I am mainly using the HC-250 for two reasons, mainly the Zigbee part of it since, unfortunately the remote controls are all Zigbee. My house has all panelized lighting so I do not have dimmers or switchs with zigbee in every room. I also use them as IR blaster on some 2015 Samsung led TVs. So, for me, if 3.0 could support just the zigbee and IO of the HC-250 would be great. Unfortunately it does not. So, for me upgrading to 3.0 I would need either to C4 to start selling a wifi remote control, or find some other way of having zigbee and Ir blasts in some rooms. Any ideas? I also have a Honeywell Vista 128bpt (with 4232CMB) which I am using with the "old" security interface since I believe there is no driver for the new security proxy. If there is any way to work out this I really accept suggestions. Regards!
  24. Thanks Alan, Lets us hope TP-Link expands the range at some moment. In Argentina TP Link is a quite popular brand but mainly on everything related to connectivity. Best regards! Fernando
  25. Dear Alan, I am interested in using your driver with the HS-300 Power strips. I live in Argentina were we use the same outlets as Australia. The HS-300 that are sold in Australia have the American outlet or the Australian one? If it is the Australian one, do you know some online store that could ship to Argentina? Thanks in advance! Best Regards Fernando
