  1. Some people (not me, I started down this route but moved on to testing the audio sensing route) have had succes attaching a light sensor to the ring of their Echo Dot and thus picking up when the blue light comes on. And yes, it probably is overkill and it would be so much better if Amazon would simply expose the Identity of the Echo being spoken to - but I am not holding my breath.
  2. You can also run the output from each Alexa to an audio input on, say, an EA controller and then use Audio sensing to determine which Alexa is active and use that to add the logic to the programming. The other option is a light sensor next to the echo to pick up when the blue light lights up. Neither route is easy to accomplish, but both have been done.
  3. Yeah, my dealer was happy to install the steam room speaker in the roof but adamant that the sauna speaker had to be installed low down for heat reasons. I ultimately went with the “its a steam room, audio quality is not the most important thing” and said we should install both low down and minimize the risk of damage. In our main home, we have dual coil speakers in the kids bathrooms and the quality is fine. We also have a steam room and sauna in our main home and I do wish they were both automated (linked to C4 with, at least, on and off functionality). I find that an hour is needed to get the sauna up to temperature and while the steam room can be used quicker, it is nicer with an hour to an hour and a half eat up time as that warms up the granite bench and wall tiles and gets the air temperature up to (a very pleasant) 50 degrees Celsius. My dealer plans on hacking the units we are putting in at the coast to get this functionality as we have had no luck finding a driver.
  4. Yes, my steam room is a 2m by 2m separate room with an L shaped bench seat and the plan is to have waterproof speakers and a separate zone. Similarly, the sauna is a separate zone, in both cases, the speakers are under the seats at floor level where the heat is less intense. I like the Experince Button integration idea. In your case, I would also recommend a separate zone. My theory is that is always easier to merge zones (setup) than split zones (wiring and hassle).
  5. I’m a month or so away from installing a Tylo heater in the sauna and Helo steam generator in my steam room at my new beach house. Both have pretty cool native apps, but I’d love to see them integrated to C4!
  6. Not sure if this will fix your problem... but worth trying. Choose agents on the bottom left hand side of composer. Choose screen saver at the top left. Click on remove. once the agent has been removed, Click on add. And choose the screensaver agent. You will then need to choose the file storage location on the right. Then go to the media section (bottom right) and click on screen saver. Your pictures should re-appear. If it, try a reboot now. Obviously make sure that the screen saver is turned on on each Touchscreen. Good luck. This worked for me.
  7. Seems like we may be confusing “correct” with “optimal” - ROTFL
  8. To allow one or two little items of control by sending an email with a given heading to my gmail address, for example: #C4 data - sends me an email with a data dump of key variables in the system #C4 cameras - sends me an email with a camera screenshot for each of my 15 cameras (using one of Alan’s drivers) #C4 reset - Reboots my director (fortunately no one on the forum knows my Gmail address or I would be in trouble now!) #C4 announcement - plays the body of the email as an announcement using the @annex⁴ Polly driver. I tend to use pushover rather than IFTTT scanning my gmail account for the last one as it then plays the announcement immediately rather than being delayed (often by 10 or 15 minutes). This one freaks my wife out a bit :-)
  9. Triggering playlists (great to get round reserved words), next track, previous track, open blinds, close blinds, partial blinds and half blinds. All done to get round reserved words...
  10. I would think that one of the Yatun thermostat drivers may well do what you want.
  11. I don’t think the driver gives you full control, but rather let’s you use the HC200’s inputs and outputs rather than simply brick it. But I may be wrong...
  12. Only 3 rules: 1. Back up 2. Back up 3. Refer to rule 1and, if in doubt, refer to rule 2. Abide by these 3 rules and HE is great fun and anything you break is easy to fix so your dealer can not blame you...
  13. A system with 4 devices (some on wall) sounds like a multi-Room system which ideally should have a stronger controller - EA3 or EA5
  14. Hmmm... CA1’s are a new (non-AV) controller and I have no experience with them. One of the real experts ( @Cyknight, @msgreenf, @Matt Lowe Etc.) would need to chime in on this one.
  15. On the current generation products, licenses are unlimited (if not actually, practically. I.e. at least 50). Not sure about an older director though. I’ve seem posts about limited licenses but all before my time as a user.
  16. Good point on camera pop ups. I updated my previous post for other readers.
  17. You don’t lose much functionality; however, the always on and direct connection of the T3 touchscreens is a big plus. You lose intercom (soon to be launched for the iPad anyway) and the weather link from the home screen (you can link this elsewhere - e.g. in comfort with an appropriate driver. You also lose page jumping to a camera. Apart from that, a few drivers won’t work on the iPad (mainly those using a direct web interface so there are workarounds for these). My 2 cent recommendation would be to always use a T3 touchscreen for on the wall integration (due to the first point above) and use an iPad (or other tablet) for all remote use.
  18. Some caps in there also, I think. But as someone said, it is in the driver documentation and Be Careful!
  19. I’ve had a similar problem on OS upgrades before. I would try deleting the Screensaver agent and Re-adding the agent. You may also need to do a reboot after doing this. Good luck!
  20. +1 for DSC although my dealer is trying to convince me to use Paradox (which he claims is better) in my beach house (building project)
  21. They have one that does (they have 3 or 4 of these drivers)... but I found it a bit buggy (I was able to work around the bugs) and I preferred the clean look of the display only and so now use these with Experience buttons (Blackwire emoji driver) for increasing and decreasing the values.
  22. While you wait for Alan’s development (which I know will be top notch), you may want to try the Yatun Temperature Display Driver. It allows you to do what you are after. I have 12 of these in a separate variable room (to view and control 12 variables) and three experience buttons, one of which cycles through which variable I want to change and two of which increase / decrease the variable in question...
  23. It was touch and go both ways! Fortunately time heals!
