  1. I hold down power button on top, screen message asks “do you want to shut down?” I select “ok,” screen goes black for a second and immediately reboots and turns back on…any idea why it won’t power down?
  2. Just now installing T3’s I bought from a fellow member, POE works (powering my old tablets just fine) and is plugged in, pins/cable is plugged in correctly, none of the T3s are powering on…any advice? other than the screen itself powering on, are there any other lights/indicators that should be lit up?
  3. Is the leap driver the same price? Any benefit to Pro?
  4. wow had no idea...can Picos work as "smart buttons" for C4 to trigger a lighting scene? new to C4 so may not have the vernacular down...
  5. do Picos only work with Sonos? I am using HEOS since I have all Denon AVR...
  6. thanks, guys. If I can save the money on not buying a Pro and not have to reprogram that's great. why am I reading some say the Pro is required, any additional features I would gain? any issue being above 50 devices?
  7. I currently have 70 Caseta on non-pro Bridge, I know I need Pro to work with C4, is there any easy way to change bridges without starting from scratch? And just to confirm, I get all the switches setup with Lutron, and THEN my dealer adds to C4? I just don’t want to redo this anymore times than I need to
  8. I was running TiVO all over (cable + streaming) Tivo didn't have enough apps (i.e. Disney) so I bought fire sticks for each TV Tivo remotes started failing so I bought Roku since Fire Stick didn't have cable (Spectrum) If I now go back to Fire Sticks, how will I get cable? (tried YouTube TV and wife/kids didn't like it) Always a kink!
  9. do I use the control 4 remote to navigate the splash tiles? If my devices plug into the HDMI decoder, I assume I'll lose ARC (my wife and kids like just using the Roku remote for simplicity)?
  10. any videos specific to C4 and NetPlay? My system does not have a home run, so I'm probably just interested in getting cameras and other overlay options on the screen.
  11. Storm Netplay looks interesting, the website is rather comprehensive, it looks like the product is a unit and software license, are there annual/ongoing costs as well? Unit is $600? A little confused how the GUI works, it says it runs through a fire stick as an example, so is the Netplay its on input device when using Control 4? I am lost on how Roku (used for streaming and Spectrum cable TV) and Control4 and Netplay work together from an interface standpoint?
  12. how does the doorbell connect to the controller/system? the doorbell current runs to my basement via Cat 5 into a POE injector, but the controller is far away in the theatre cabinet, so I cannot physically connect them.
  13. thank you, regarding the doorbell, would either the Doorbird or C4 Chime, allow the doorbell stream to show on the TV I'm watching? Will the C4 Chime show up on a non-C4 tablet?
  14. I started my smart home journey with Lutron switches (around 75), 8 Reolink Cat 5 cameras on a PC w/ Blue Iris, Yale locks, and a Smart Things hub. I then added 3 Fire tablets to run Action Tiles. Everything is great for the money, but after installing my theatre room I bought an EA-1 and a pair of C4 remotes for audio/video in theatre and family rooms. At this point, I may as well convert from Smart Things to C4 for everything, since the bulk of the investment has been made. A couple of questions: 1) Touchscreens - I tried adding OS3 but my Fire tablets are too old, before buying new Fire HD, which can't be beat for the money, what are the pros/cons, and advantages of Samsung vs iPad vs Fire, etc.? I read I cannot go directly to the cameras in the C4 app, the whole point of this is seamlessness and ease of use, other than C4 touchscreens, any way to get full use out of the touchscreen/app? 2) Door Locks - I have four Yale Assure locks, with the Z Wave plus module, will that also work w/ C4 or do I need to swap modules? 3) Doorbell - I originally installed a Doorbird D101S planning to go C4, when I decided to do Smart Things, I did a Ring Pro instead. any advantage/disadvantage using Doorbird vs Ring at this point? I have a Cat 5 cable in place, and still have my old Doorbird. One obvious benefit I believe is unlike the Ring, which doesn't mesh with the other cameras on BI, the Doorbird I assume can integrate to C4 and BI just like another camera? Anything else I might be missing? I'm pretty basic, don't need crazy automation, just basic control of locks, lights, AV, and cameras, ideally aggregated so we can push a button or two, and not have to toggle apps... Thanks!
  15. well damn, i guess it's time to order a new tablet. Hopefully C4 figures out how to competitively price their tablets!
  16. Recently had my C4 system installed, I just tried installing the C4 app on the Fire tablet I've had on the wall for SmartThings. two questions: 1) the app says OS2, is there not a OS3 for Fire? 2) The app keeps saying "password saved" but when I click "connect" it routes me back to the password screen. The app on my phone works fine, and this password works fine on the website, any idea why the C4 app on the Fire is not connecting?
  17. I believe there was a "homeowner" version of composer, but can't seem to find it anywhere? For advanced install/automation needs I know I need my C4 Pro to do it, but hoping I can add a few basic things (lights, locks, etc.) on my own?
  18. I have Fire Sticks all over, if Spectrum could just make an app fire those I'd be set. I'm a bit nervous about Roku, since they had the issue and people went a year w/o cable TV, my wife is patient w/ all my AV spending, all she asks is to be able to easily watch some morning TV.
  19. TiVo was great but all my remotes have died, they don’t have a great app selection, and the fact you can’t stream from DVR shows on their DVR to their dongle makes you think they are not very innovative
  20. when we remodeled our house 5 years ago, we did TIVO all over. The goal was to avoid expensive/clunky cable boxes, aggregate apps, DVR shows, and make it simple for my family (they used TIVO remote with just TV audio, while I used Harmony/AVR for surround sound. Well things have changed, re: apps they have lagged behind, and don't have all the apps we need, so I added a Fire Stick. we also never DVR live TV anymore, and the remotes have all gone to hell. So, I am now converting a few rooms to C4, mainly to just get a simple reliable remote. doing an EA1 and if we want to go bigger with add EA3 down the road. but regarding TV, I'm trying to think of the easiest way to do this. Appears my options are to ditch the TIVO and use a Apple TV or Roku in its place? I can either run it all through the AVR, everyone uses the SR260, or, we do like we do know, hook up Roku/Apple via "pass through" on AVR, so family uses the simple Roku/Apple TV remote, but I would use SR260. Other than cable boxes, are there any other options to watch Spectrum cable other than Roku/Apple...anything I'm missing?
