  1. I appreciate that but I honestly doubt my opinion is uncommon if you were to consult with interior design professionals and architects of luxury residential dwellings. It certainly was our personal, builder and designers opinions.
  2. Good info, thanks. Perhaps its lack of wifi that allows Levels small size and excellent battery life. If I ran control4, consumers installing devices like Level, Ring, Brilliant in C4 homes would have me worried. The existing lock solutions are just not good enough for the high end luxury market they should be targeting.
  3. Yeah, I got it backwards but either way, no need to use the Level keyset. Thats the whole point to me, better styles entrysets than the limited c4 options.
  4. You dont have to switch out the cylinder. He reviewed the full level “bolt” not the original level lock that keeps the keyset of your original lock. I still dont think you understand the Level product.
  5. Again, you can use Schlage, Baldwin, etc with the level internals keeping their keyset and security features. Maybe you dont understand how level lock works.
  6. Yeah, so what. His videos are entertaining but kind of pointless. Pretty easy to just break a glass door or window and get in almost any house. Its not like a deadbolt is anything more than a mild deterrent. Thus alarms and cameras were created. And like stated above, you can use any keyset with level.
  7. Just not a fan of the smart lock look with keypad or the few decent other designs. You are severely limited in choice. The level is a great solution allowing near endless choices. I would argue the functionality is better with level with nfc, no need to open any apps. Just can be frustrating when any home automation, be it c4, crestron, savant, etc have worse solutions than relatively cheap consumer products. But guess that is true for a lot of things. Maybe can work around with Homekit
  8. Correct and the officially supported integrated partners locks are not great design wise and now have less functionality that 300 lock you can get on amazon. Its an issue for a home automation company.
  9. Well technically its bt and nfc but i get your point. Either way, its a shame i can get better functionality and design integration for next to nothing and there is nothing comparable from c4.
  10. Level is still around and they just released lock plus which works with home key. We remodeled and installed these as the C4 locks and August products are hideous. Gotta say its a great product and C4 needs to work on integrating it. Install can be fiddly but works on our Baldwin and Schlage, even the low profile sets which are not officially supported.
  11. I am not an installer but end user. Worked fine for me in harsh environment but notice the “ymmv”, lol.
  12. Outdoor tvs are stupid pricey. Is the TV covered? We purchased a cheap vizio with thought we may have to replace frequently which is still cheaper than the sunbrite, etc. 10 years and no issue. Humid climate, 10 ft from salt pool. Ymmv
  13. The consumer grade vistas are but the 128bpt is commercial line due to number of zones and sensors.
  14. Good luck! In summary for me, Jandy no longer works, using Jandy app. MyQ garage no longer works, using MyQ app. C4 matrix went out, using a few Sonos speakers. Alarm Vista 128bpt not supported in C4 new os. Sigh. At least local control of my theater still works.
  15. Agree. Obviously a large number of C4 owners have pools and there are really 3 main control units, Jandy, Pentair and Hayward. C4 has not made pool automation important even though all 3 are list on the website as partners. Disappointing.
  16. Well maybe with the updated api Control4 can develop or fix the driver to actually function properly. It was always poor anyways with known issues with heating display and button toggle issues.

If you only have one Sonos Port connected to the matrix, is room specific playing handled on the backend through c4 programming? Replacing my C4 matrix and adding a Port might be preferable to 8-10 stacked ports.

With josh then Is it ridiculous to create a multizone setup with 8 sonos ports instead of the c4 matrix? My c4 matrix is dead anyways.

What is current best practice for audio distribution if using c4 and josh.ai? Sonos looks to integrate seemlessly with Josh but obviously not with C4. Also, prefer the sonos app for browsing versus native c4 solutions.

Excellent! Thanks for the detailed and prompt response!

So the input switching, power and volume commands are being sent by Josh directly to a connected tv? Or is josh relying on an automation system to handle those commands?

Question. On the Josh demos, they demonstrate tv control and loading content. I assume the content is be controlled through roku or apple tv. Are the tv commands sent through c4 (or crestron) or directly from josh? I have seen both Samsung and Sony tvs in the demos.
  23. Hmm, well I tried removing input cables to the matrix and still loud hum. There are 3 amps connected to the matrix, 1 12-zone and two single zone amps and it still makes the noise through all zones.
  24. A few months ago we came home to a loud feedback hum through all our speakers. I turned of the amps and am just now getting around to troubleshooting. The noise goes away with amps on but the c4 matrix unplugged. Can I assume its a bad matrix switch? The unit is only a few years old. Sadly, the whole home audio was basically the last functioning component of the system with exception of theater control.
