  1. C4 Rooms don't show up as rooms AKA groups in Alexa.. the commands however do exist. On the c4 customer Alexa page you can click on the link shown in the image below and it gives you the list of commands you can tell Alexa to talk to C4. Those Rooms if built out correctly with the lights and AV devices in it in your C4 project should all turn off by issuing the command in the list to turn off the room. I mean if what you did works for you that's great but just wanted to help clarify the conversation for others and how it should be working.. and is working for me.
  2. That's why i was wondering if it had to do with a room maybe existing in both C4 and Alexa with the same name? I have C4 Rooms that I do not have built in Alexa and the "Room Off" commands for the C4 rooms turn off everything including AV devices just fine. If it was an Alexa room and not a C4 room then yes i would have to manually add the C4 AV devices to the Alexa room if i wanted to turn it off with that command.
  3. Did you use Alexa to turn on the A/V devices? I mean it all depends on the device and if it can tell C4 it was turned on manually so really i am just asking does C4 know the a/v devices are on when you try to tell it to turn a room off? My kids sometimes turn the TV's and stuff on manually and i have nothing polling or anything so C4 does not know they are on and if i tell Alexa to turn the room off.. C4 assumed the a/v stuff is already off so doesn't try. Just another thought. For me the "room off" with the exception of what i just said does turn off my a/v in 117 so i am not sure what would really be different.
  4. Is "master bedroom" a c4 device/room or is it a room built within Alexa?
  5. Did you have Alexa discover new devices after you checked all the box's on the c4 site and saved? If you did and nothing changed you may want to try deleting a device in Alexa and seeing if it will be re-discovered.
  6. i am now able to and and remove and add voice scenes and have them update on customer.control4.com 117 seems to have fixed this latest issue for me. Thanks!
  7. I am out of town till tomorrow night but feel free to throw it on and test and I can test more when I get home.
  8. He is right.. i didn't understand that's what he was referring to till now when i just tried it. Basically nothing you change with voice scenes in system design seems to populate the Alexa Events dropdown in programming... which apparently means nothing changes on customer.control4.com related to voice scenes and therefor Alexa has nothing to update from. There seems to be a disconnect between the Alexa driver system design data and the programming data for voice scenes. I deleted "Living Room Kodi" and also created "This is a test" The Alexa events programming however still has the "Living Room Kodi" and "This is a test" is no where to be found.
  9. Much better! So glad to have this working again! Thank you!
  10. Uncheck Pool Lights, Click Save Changes, Click Refresh, Then turn Pool Lights back on as well as any of the other new Voice Scenes you have that should show up at the same time. Then of course have Alexa discover and you should be good to go.
  11. Oh.. i see what you are saying! They don't show up on the customer.control4.com yet they are showing up and discovered via Alexa.. This is how it used to appear. "Rooms" are missing. Just to note it does show up if you go into the "View voice commands" and is listed like above still. Maybe the rooms never showed up on the main list on the c4 site? i can't remember now.
  12. Yes the room is automatic/built-in.. There are plenty of caviots though when dealing with lighting and AV in a c4 "room".
  13. What does the history log show in composer when you issue the voice command? Anything? I am assuming Alexa isn't saying she failed in any way..?
  14. It can be either/both depending on how you have stuff configured in Alexa/C4. You could have all the C4 switches in a room on Alexa and Alexa will turn them all on and off with the Room on/off commands.. Or you could have an advanced lighting scene in C4 that does the same thing for you and it would appear in Alexa as whatever you called it. If you have an Alexa room named Kitchen it could also get confused if you had a advanced lighting scene by the same name.. so make sure to keep device/room names from overlapping.
  15. Try disabling a device on customer.control4.com and hitting save. That will cause it to pull the list of devices from your controller again. Once you see the devices on customer.control4.com and you have them enabled.. at that point making Alexa discover them should make them show up there too. Also make sure to delete old Alexa c4 devices if ever in question as they do not remove themselves and will stick around in Alexa even if they don't exist in c4 anymore.. so you do have to be careful renaming devices too.
  16. The rooms must matter on the C4 side it seems... Alexa takes the commands for the Matrix devices but C4 does not turn on the TV's (Rooms). You can see in the History that it did get a voice command and it did "turn on" the end device you requested but as it was not in the room attached to the video output it does not cause that rooms video output device to turn on. Hope that makes sense. The #2 below was me issuing the "Turn on TV 4 Chromecast" The #1 below was me issuing the "Turn on TV 2 Chromecast" As you can see it "turned on" the Chromecast both times but as the room its in (Game Room) does not have the Video Endpoint "TV 4" in it... it isn't triggering the room to turn on and change the video source. That is my guess as to what's still not working in regards to the HDMI Matrix anyway... hope it helps!
  17. Looks good and I have all the devices back! The only difference I am currently seeing is that the HDMI Matrix devices are ALL located in the room with the Matrix rather than the rooms the TV’s are in. That should not affect functionality though.. just cosmetic on the customer.control4.com site? The voice commands are the same as before from Alexa's perspective i think. I will be home in about 30 and can test that the commands are actually executing but all signs looking at things remotely look good!
  18. I would agree the only real issues I have had with Alexa started about a year ago too. The having to repeat every command to even turn something off or on and at random have it do the action after Alexa already said the device was not responding and the more recent can’t talk to null is what drove me to give 3.3 a whirl. I get the interacting with the cloud and the delay.. and I am even accepting it will exist. But for just basic lighting on/off/dim functionally it does hurt my heart a bit when the cheep Chinese cloud based non-c4 smart devices I have in my closets react 10x faster and more reliably than a professional system to the same commands over the internet via Alexa. I am hopeful again though as with this last update the lights are being much more responsive… even if much of my media functionally is currently missing.
  19. Thank you! Will keep my eyes out! I will also note that even if connected to the TV inputs directly without the matrix in the mix. DVD Players will not show up as devices for Alexa. Just want to get things back to a working state! Testing the build video showing how clean the Alexa integration was working -->
  20. Mine showed up on the site until the upgrade. It was just extremely finicky maybe only working 50% of the time which is why I finally upgraded hoping to resolve my Alexa issues.
  21. Yay it's not just me! I may sound happy but am really sad as it feels like this is intentional. From what i have found anything that uses the dvd proxy is no longer is usable via Alexa. (not even detected for the customer.control4.com site anymore) Also my HDMI Matrix is basically useless with Alexa now as well as the devices connected to it no longer show up in the rooms with the TV's and will only show up in the room with the devices! I have been at this for days and am at a standstill waiting for someone to see there is an issue or have someone who knows make some type of statement or acknowledgement as to this is now working as intended. I hate to have to build out a ton of manual workarounds for what should be built in functionality and WAS built in previously and would prefer to not have to if anyone can answer why it seems functionality was removed. *I should also note that previously when it "was" working i was running 2.10 and updated to 3.3. to see if it would fix some of the Alexa weirdness and issues i had been experiencing (Server is unresponsive, cant connect to null, device is not responding...) but all it did was make things worse!*
  22. I bit the bullet and updated to v3.3.0 in hopes of fixing things.. which also updated the voice driver to 112 at the same time. I wish i would have notice and tried just the voice driver first but its too late for that and now things are more broken than before as crazy a that sounds! I am not sure if it was the OS3 update or the Voice Driver update but all my Xbox devices no longer show up as devices on the C4 Voice Control site. Also the ability to select any of my HDMI Matrix inputs from any room seems to be broken too as the only way i can get a HDMI input to be voice controlled now is to have it in the room the display is in. Everything still works as expected via the C4 app but either something got broke with OS3 or the latest Voice Driver update it seems.
  23. As of yesterday i can no long control my TV's at all... this is still the case today. Previously Alexa either said she could not find "null" for the last few weeks... then a 2nd or 3rd request would work. And beyond that for the last year most commands for everything require 2-3 tries as she always says that it's not responding and this happens for any device. Alexa + C4 is almost completely unusable for me now and as most of my C4 usage was via Alexa. How is this not a bigger issue C4 is not addressing?!
  24. Mine has been doing this for months now.. worked fine for the 6 years prior. I have just been so busy i have not had time to look into it but it sure did not take long once i did to find others with the same issue here. It is getting so bad my wife and kids are asking me to get rid of Control4 and do something different as almost every command has to be repeated twice and the other half of the time when you don't have to repeat yourself.. what you ask happens after it tells you it could not as the device is not responding. Is this them trying to push people to v3? Does this issue only exist with a controller running v2? I guess that's my next question.
  25. Good to know there may be bigger issues at play.. I have been trying everything i could think of for hours now but am experiencing the same thing... 1. Alexa can't talk to Control4 at all! 2. When/Then does not work on the c4 website and just says my session has expired and to re-login... Kids and wife keep asking me how to turn things on! Apparently this house can't function without Alexa on demand!
