  1. Here's a video of my T4 playing a full 1080P 30FPS signal coming from my AppleTV (YouTube), it plays beautifully. And just to show you how awesome the T4 is, I show my portable T4 playing the same content over Wi-Fi with no lag. Sound is coming from the in-ceiling speakers. Yeah, that's a video of the new GT3 992, arguably the best driving car ever built. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5lqz9i8ymfjk2g2/img_0506.mov?dl=0
  2. Why can't you use the name of the user? It's the same result. "Last unlocked by"
  3. Those variables have been moved to the "DS2 Lock" driver which controls all lock aspects of the DS2 and it lets end users setup Users and codes from Navigators.
  4. Adjust motion sensing in the DS2 web interface.
  5. That's all I use for all retrofits. Never had a problem. POE is a big plus.
  6. The driver creates an audio file in the Announcement Agent, I think it's called Polly.wav. This is the audio file that will be used by the Driver. You create an Announcement with the rooms and parameters you need and select Polly.wav as the audio file to be executed. You can create multiple announcements using the same audio file, this is the file that it's being dynamically created. In programming: When door is open (Or whatever) In Actions you choose the Voice Genie Driver>Synthesize Text Type the text you want and add it to the script: "The front door is open" Add a little delay, 500ms or a second Execute the Announcement you created that contains Polly.wav
  7. Yeah, try Voice Genie. Without doubt one of the coolest drivers available.
  8. What is your use case? Dynamic announcements? Or messages that the client can type in the app and execute an announcement? I use Voice Genie from Annex4 for the former. It creates dynamic announcements so I don't have to be creating files for them. Works great. For the other use where the customer types a message in the app to execute an announcement, well that one gets old very quickly. I ended up developing a page system where the customer pages the whole house through the speakers of the house using the Intercom (app or touch panel). They like that solution better.

  10. Use the Hik-Connect app and turn on Hik-Connect in the NVR. No open ports or VPN required.
  11. Another reason for the flickering can be that you don't have a neutral connected to the dimmer, make sure you have a neutral. I know for a fact that the dimmer will work with a 16-watt load with no issues.
  12. At what level they start flickering? You have to trim them. Some Edison bulbs aren't great at dimming and you have to trim them heavily (low quality bulbs). Also as mentioned above, you might have the wrong type of dimmer. The Essential Dimmer is a great dimmer.
  13. For those having issues with IA not working. Go to your coustomer.control4.com account and delete the devices from the devices list. Not the users, only the devices. Log in to your IA app and try again.
  14. You mentioned that you’ll be using either Luma or Hikvision (same thing) as your NVR. You can connect the HDMI from the NVR to the Matrix and create an event to show a camera in full screen with a doorbell button press. I have done all the suggestions I have mentioned and there are many ways to do what you want and it’s pretty easy to do too. Decoders are great when you use a computer or NAS based system. But if you are using a regular NVR, then forget the decoder. You can just connect the NVR to the matrix and create the events. I have systems using Hikvision NVRs that show a DS2 feed in full screen when the DS2 button is pressed. After 20 seconds it goes back to showing all the cameras or the source being used. I don’t do Hikvision NVRs anymore, now I do computer based systems. That’s why I use decoders.
  15. Right, it all depends on the Matrix. The way I have it in my house (where I only need this feature in one TV) is I have the Decoder connected directly to the TV. The HDMI switch of the TV is really fast, a second or less. It actually works great.
  16. Why do you need a video matrix for? You can install inexpensive encoder directly to the source and save thousands. The moment you have encoders/decoders involved you can't have 4K HDR for those sources. So, if you'll be using sources that don't require HDR such as STB, then you don't need the Matrix, just plug the encoder in the source. All feeds have to go through the decoder in the TVs for features to work. So if you have an Apple TV in the rack, the feed from the Apple TV has to go through the encoder/decoder in order to be able to use the VS features you want and it also means no 4k HDR. As mentioned before, you don't need encoders for the cameras. VS can access the feed directly. Unless I'm missing something, you are complicating this. https://www.video-storm.com/Downloads/hdmi_matrix.htm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEDo5QIvcmw&feature=emb_title Personally, I wouldn't use VS at all. The PIP feature would be cool, but I don't have any issues with displaying full image in the TV with a doorbell press. Plus I prefer to have access to full 4K HDR from my Apple TV and Roku boxes which are in the rack. This is how I do my systems: Sources connected to a matrix for distribution (Easy part, we all know how it works) One decoder for cameras connected to the matrix with a STB driver to control it. This decoder contains 30 channels which means it can access any camera (up to 30) by recalling a channel number (like cable TV). Decoder supports up to 4K/30hz which is enough for most cameras out there. The camera channels show up by name in the Channels proxy in the Watch menu so customers can view and browse the cameras in full res in any TV. When doorbell button is pressed: Switch to the decoder in the Matrix and choose the channel you want. For example: Front Door is in channel 1. Motion in the backyard: Switch to the decoder in the Matrix and choose the channel. For example: Backyard camera is in Channel 3. Giving up 4KHDR while using the best Matrix in the market that money can buy doesn't make any sense just to have PiP. Not to mention the fact that you don't even need it if you want to use VS.
  17. OP, this is how you program what you want to do. No need for snapshots or any other programming. The "Control4" and "Recall" commands are at Room level. The "Recall" command will take you back to your source. https://www.dropbox.com/s/a3lp85dasr1g3j4/Screenshot.png?dl=0
  18. The Voice Genie driver is one of the best drivers for C4. It’s really awesome.
  19. Are you dealers? Take this to the dealer forum.
  20. On your original subject, executing commands when the button is pressed should work with no issues. Adjust your delays.
  21. Yes, it can be done. You can program the DS2 to activate the relay when the button is pressed. You do this in the Web Interface of the DS2. Download the Automation API from the 2N website. It tells you how to do it. I like to do as much programming as I can in the DS2 itself, you'll be surprised how customizable the DS2 is.
  22. Add a delay before activating the relay. Start with 500ms. Plan B If the delay doesn't work: Go to the properties, enable Advanced Properties if you haven't done it. Enable "Call Button for Programming Only", click Set. In programming: When button is pressed: Close relay 500ms delay Open relay 250ms delay (Adjust) Initiate call from DS2 to "All" Group Make sure the relay activation is before the call.
