  1. 6 weeks? wow. I hadn't even upgraded the firmware. The receiver got a new IP somehow but even when I changed the IP in C4 to match - it still showed offline. I'm guessing it was a combination of Composer/OS 3.4.1. It did show online for a bit in network but the driver showed 'false' for network connection and nothing worked. I found a thread on Reddit talking about the exact same issue. I knew it was taking a chance using a different Sony receiver driver but they were from the same gen/family and it worked fine! until it did not! One guy said he went and replaced it with the AX1000 which matches the driver name and all works fine - even with the new firmware. Frustrating because the receiver is online as the iOS app can control it just fine. Very odd that C4 just doesn't see it at all!
  2. Were you able to get your AN1000 working with C4 again? - mine stopped working around the same time. The receiver has an IP and the iPhone app can change inputs. C4 just shows it as offline no matter what I do. Thx.
  3. Hi - not sure if it's just my Halo remote... when I place it in the dock - I hear a chime but it sounds like a distorted or 8 bit crunchy chime. Is that normal and is that why they now allow you to disable the chime?
  4. I already have Tidal but am so entrenched in Apple Music I still prefer it. I'm curious about Roon and C4 - how does that all work and what is the purpose of Roon? - I see they have C4 drivers...
  5. It's 2023 - still no Apple Music to be found. Current method is to favorite Apple Music playlists in Sonos. I want to be able to shuffle the songs but choosing a playlist with Sonos leaves the existing Queue full of old music which gets thrown in the shuffle. Has anyone found a way to clear the Sonos Queue upon selecting a new playlist? My workaround has been using an iOS app called Soro along with an iOS Shortcut that opens a playlist, clears the Sonos queue and leaves me in the Sonos app for further tweaks. Problem is that this isn't family friendly and can't be done from the C4 Touchscreens.
  6. Also with the latest carrier firmware for their stats the system responds to c4 changes almost instantaneously!!
  7. I also worked with the developers during the beta stages of this driver. My HVAC guy talked me into dual infinity systems five years ago and I was freaked out that I had zero integration. Perhaps the most important part of the c4 system is HVAC control. This developer is so great to work with and they really care about all of it. Huge thanks to Epic for making this happen!!
  8. The old driverslab driver was awful and never worked. This one actually works and nicely. One thing I'm still waiting for is updated firmware for one of my Infinity thermostats. One of two got the firmware update which makes it so much faster at responding to event changes. Carrier pulled the firmware update for some reason and told me this on the phone. This driver works well with both thermostats but the updated firmware makes it even more responsive.
  9. I worked with the developer beta testing and the beta was great! I have two infinity systems each with 3 zones.
  10. Will the driver have control over various zones - I have 2 thermostats each controlling 3 zones. Sure hope so!
  11. Agreed - it's time these carrier guys realize that they need to play ball properly. My old Ecobee was so fast and easy.
  12. He is the product manager - Thermostats and Controls
  13. Maybe everyone should email this guy and say WTF? frank.david@carrier.com
  14. Yup - same thing here. Like I said, even Carrier's own app sucks and takes a very long time from the time you enter a change to the thermostat until it actually registers. Ideally we could have direct IP local control? - I found the lead guy on LinkedIn at Carrier who deals with this. His name is Frank David. We exchanged emails in August 2021. This is what he said: "Sam, Thank you for purchasing Infinity products and yes, using the Infinity system control is required to get the advanced features for variable speed. We have some work to do to get connected with smart home integrations. We are currently working to improve our customer experience with third party integrations such as Contol4 and Apple HomeKit and others. I can’t give you specifics yet on when they will be available but know that we are working toward greater integration to smart home systems."
  15. Include me for sure! - Would be very happy to test it once in beta. The existing driver never worked for me. I tried over and over with their tech support which ultimately just faded away. It did confirm it had access to the Carrier Cloud but when I would make temp changes - nothing. I have two full infinity systems each with three zones.
  16. Fantastic! - so glad you guys are going to take this on. There are so many of us out there that need something better! - ideally local IP control. What concerns me is relying on their awful cloud which could be part of the issue.
  17. I reached out to Alan Chow of chowmain - they make great C4 drivers to see if he was interested in developing a driver. He replied today that he had reached out to Dan from Carrier and have yet to hear back from him about it.
  18. Does anyone have any info on what one would not have access to if we switched the thermostats to Ecobee? I have a 3 ton and 4 ton system. Each has a master thermostat and two slaves in other rooms = 6 zones total. Would it even work with another thermostat? - my guess would be I would then have all three zones in each system be the same temp but maybe it's worth it?? These thermostats suck, the app sucks and most of the time changes I make using their own app don't make it to the thermostat. I get so jealous seeing other C4 systems with an easy to use Thermostat - something that can be included in whole house programming within C4. Almost to the point of just trying plan b instead of waiting for something that appears to be never coming... Thx, Sam
  19. I actually got the email address of the carrier developer of their entire thermostat and network division. I will find it and include it here. Maybe if we all email we can get something going. Their app is beyond awful and slow and often doesn’t even work. I have two full systems with three zones per system. Hideous expense. Worst part of my remodel and smart home.
  20. All that most C4 users would need is a reliable way to see the current temperature and to be able to increase/decrease it. Any other specific features could be done in the Carrier App when needed which isn't often once set correctly. Just want to be able to see the current temp in each zone and adjust it. Sure doesn't sound difficult. Yes, Carrier does offer an open API which the homeation driver connects to for authentication/connection. It just doesn't work!
  21. Variable speed fan Variable speed fan + Humidity control + zone control + CFM per zone control
  22. I too was hoping I could use the C4 Thermostat or something other than the one required by the Infinity System. As others have said earlier, the Infinity requires the use of their own thermostat to take full control of the various features. It would be so nice to have it all integrated with Control4. Even worse is that the Carrier App is so awful and clunky to use. Only works in landscape mode, etc. I tried the Homeation driver but the first thing I noticed is that it didn't update anything in the C4 App. No indication of current temperatures. What use is that?
  23. Using 80Mhz. It's not that I need 500+ over wifi for internet but I have access to file servers, etc. that would benefit from faster throughput. Plus, in general - it's my job as an IT company owner to get clients the fastest wifi possible. It's puzzling that these overpriced devices don't keep up with something that is sold at Costco. I'm sure hoping it's a setting I'm missing somewhere. I went with the dealers recommendation as I assumed he had more experience in full home automation integration where my expertise was limited at the time to just home networks for laptops/ipads and iPhones. He insisted that lesser systems when mixed with the amount of chatter that comes with 90+ wireless and wired devices with a complex C4 system would have issues and this is where, in his opinion Araknis shined. Nobody told me throughput would suck though.
  24. Have you found anything remotely useable with these Carrier systems?
