  1. That would be an awesome comparison to see. I have without a doubt prioritized the ease of integration and find the simplicity of the mini-apps to be incredible. Especially because a lot of users of the system are not tech savvy (such as my parents when they visit), so having the specific apps show on the remote control and be 1-click away is invaluable. I agree with the recommendation to keep a backup if you want to spend the extra money. I do still have the Apple TVs installed since I already had them), but realistically have only ever turned them on right now for the screen-casting. HBO MAX is now another reason; however, I still expect AT&T and Roku to work out a deal for that one.
  2. Just to report back on what I ended up doing ... I ended up changing over to Roku completely and it’s one of the best decisions I have made! We can directly access all the Roku apps from Control4 and our remotes, the Rokus themselves work excellent (including the Roku soundbar), and I recommend switching if you can. i do still have the Apple TV’s on a couple TVs for the sole purpose of screen casting from my iPhone but even that is far less necessary as Roku can screencast from many other devices of mine.
  3. I have been asking my dealer as well as exploring on my own how to trigger a specific podcast to play as part of a wake-up routine. Today we use Alexa to accomplish this and play NPR Up First once the Alexa alarm goes off. However, keeping Alexa and C4 wakeup routines in-sync is annoying if we change our wake-up time. The only thing I have gotten to work is a macro that manually navigates the Apple TV menus to play the podcast ... but this is inherently problematic as icons shift, etc. Has anyone found a way to use C4 to reliably play a podcast (or other method)? Also, this is just one example, I am sure if I could reliably select specific apps on the Apple TV I would find a lot of other uses for it! I currently use IR, but it looks like there are now updated IP drivers for the latest ATV OS if I needed to get one.
  4. Initially I did it without any pauses between commands and it worked ... but then to be overly cautious I added in 500 milisec pauses between each Apple TV Menu command (I am still on IR and not IP so felt like no pauses could occasionally miss a couple commands).
  5. I programmed my room off to fire the menus command 4 times. Also, if I switch to my cable box this fires. This takes it all the way back to the Apple TV menu anytime we turn the room off or change back to the cable box.
