I reached out to the team at CoolAbode to address some issues with my system that I didn’t want to wait for my local dealer to fix.

They responded back immediately. Took the time to have an initial session with me before any programming was done to see what I was looking to accomplish. They listened to what I had to say and was able to do what I wanted. They even offered up suggestions to tackle things that were done previously and do them better now.
All work was done remotely and quickly. They were very easy to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new integrator.

Yes you can run audio from that output to an input on the amp.  You can also send that audio over the network to a C4 controller but would introduce a delay in doing so.

Couple things are pushing the upgrade:
    1. wifi strength is quite week from one of the units (hoping the Beamforming will aid for video xfer speed/quality)
    2. need system to switch between AP as there's a lot of movement in the home during work video conf - the Fast Roaming Capability should allow for that.  (works great with eero in my other home).
Q: looks like I have to purchase them from a dealer (or ebay).  true?  I full run/manage my full system.

Kyle Coolabode reacted to alanchow in Hikvision Doorstation now Control4 compatible
Today we are proud to release the Hikvision Doorstation driver for Control4.  This integration is now included as part of Chowmain’s Hikvision driver suite which integrates Hikvision’s DVR’s, NVR’s  and IP cameras providing not only live view on IP cameras but smart events on motion, line crossing, licence plate recognition and more if utilized with AcuSense or ANPR Cameras along with virtual remote control simulation on I series NVRs and TurboHD DVRs.
This integration lowers the price of door station integration for Control4 home owners making it affordable for all installation sizes.  Existing customers will get this new Intercom driver at no additional cost.  Pricing of the driver suite will not be increased.
Chowmain and Hikvision US & AU have worked closely on making the doorstation integration seamless in Control4.  This includes creation of a custom firmware tailored to Control4 allowing doorstations to call Control4 touchscreens and mobile applications with video and audio communications.
Integration is not only limited to communications and the driver provides control over electronic locks connected to the door station along with smart event feedback.
Smart event feedback is the most powerful feature of the integration.  Examples of smart event programming include playback of doorbell sounds across all speakers in the home when the call button is pushed, automated porch/pathway lighting when motion is detected along with push notifications with image snapshot on these events.
A summary of the intercom driver's functionality is as below.
Integration to Control4's Communication Agent / SIP Server. Providing the ability to call Control4 touchscreens and mobile devices (4sight required) for both video and audio communications. The Hikvision DS-KV8xx3-WME1 range of door stations can be configured automatically by the driver to work with Control4 for convenient set up and configuration Ability to set Control4's Intercom Custom Button actions Ability to trigger electronic locks (output 1 & 2) Ability to use the door station as a regular IP camera stream Automatic push notifications with snapshot for motion and/or call button press (requires 4sight) Through Hikvision's alert stream technology, our driver can provide the following real time notifications for integrators to program against: Video motion detection alerts Call button press Line busy (no answer) Call Answered Alarm 1 - 4 Triggered (traditionally 1 & 2 are used for door state closed, 3 & 4 is used for exit button pushed but can be used for other programming) This doorstation integration is compatible with the following models of door station.

Just wanted to add my plug for these guys as well. I reached out for some help with remote setup of new TV’s and some drivers and these guys were quick to respond and very easy to work with. They have the remote programming process down and know exactly what questions to ask and provide detailed instructions for how to work with them. Highly recommend.

This is correct. Netgear is extensively in the Do Not Use list. Get yourself a PoE switch that plays nice with C4 and you should be good. Can't go wrong with Araknis.

Also, , I may be wrong, but I do recall many of the Netgear cheap products were also on the do not use networking list.

you can hide devices in navigators from composer HE, a pro is not nessecary.

I just wanted to take the time to say how good Kyle and Andrzej from Coolabode have been fixing a fault on my system remotely.
It wasn't an easy fix, but you know sometimes some people are prepared to put in that extra effort that makes all the difference and that's what these guys did.
I'm glad I found someone I can rely on in the future.
    Thanks again

    Two things jump out:
-You have conflicting programming (yes, audio sense will mess you're second goal up every time) - you'll have to think of an alternate option for auto sensing (button, experience button, C4 alexa voice trigger) if you want to use C4 for other services.
-You're attempting to use two system (sort of three) to trigger music.
I'm not arguing your reasoning mind you, but to make this work well, you'll need to make a choice.
By the sounds of it, my suggestion would be to not use C4 (directly) for music at all, just use Sonos (via Alexa or the Sonos App) to select what you want to listen to, and then use auto sensing as you are already doing.
In your example, Sonos has Tune-In as well, just use that instead. If you use C4 for some triggered events to select TuneIn channels, save those as favourites in the Sonos app, and you can still select that channel using C4, but it will use the Sonos for the streaming.

Probably has to do with the AWS outages. On the C4 Master driver, you might need to re-authenticate Control4. You should see both your Google Account and Control4 account fields filled out. If not you will have to get the links again from the action tab and follow the instructions.

That sound definitely is not right. You can get your dealer to check the MAC address with SnapOne to see it's eligible for warranty.

We used Coolabode for a large DIY setup and programming project in New York.  They worked completely remotely to configure an existing C4 system that came with our home.  After we bought the home, we did a major renovation including new wiring (IT, alarm, security cameras and speakers).  We also added 3rd party relays and sensors (leaks, freeze, door state, water valve control, etc).  Coolabode helped with the dealer-end configuration, and provided consulting on the consumer-side work (Composer HE).  VERY professional and knowledgeable.  Happy to answer "newbie" questions as well as research tougher configuration issues.  When we moved in after the big remodel, the C4 system worked exactly as spec'd.  I highly recommend them if you're inclined to do a DIY Control4 project.

I moved my support to Coolabode in August 2020 after finally tiring of the poor service from my original installer. Andrzej has helped me a couple of times since then with some remote control programming and a few issues with C4 and Sonos integration. And I recently worked with Kyle on another Sonos-related issue which ended up being hardware-related (old Sonos Connect output failed).
In every instance, with both Andrzej and Kyle, I received a very quick response to my initial request and great communication and service throughout the entire process. And their pricing is very fair.

I highly recommend engaging the Coolabode team!

Reading between the lines and because the OP said new problems appeared to coincide with his Internet changes I suspect he is using ISP network equipment.
I still find it amazing the number of times we fix this very issue, usually along the lines of: homeowner A uses ISP networking equipment in a Control4 system with static IP addresses in use, sells home to homeowner B who promptly switches ISPs to an ISP with a different Class C addressing scheme and voila Control4 stops working. Or simply homeowner A changes ISP and wonders why things stop working.
The commonality of bad practices here is the use of ISP networking equipment in conjunction with fixed / static IP addresses. While fixed / static IP addresses are good practice for certain equipment and required for some equipment, it's a bad idea to do so while using ISP networking gear instead of a dedicated Control4 network setup.
