  1. Hahaha I think you’ve already passed the basic smart home stage. Last question what amp do you have and how many zones of audio do you currently have. from the sounds of it to create multiple zones you need Triad Audio Matrix. But in order to have the audio from your tv come out in your ceiling speakers maybe a little bit tricky. Not only that but you may introduce audio sync issues as the audio has to come from your tv then routed to the matrix and back to the speakers.
  2. Obviously you are new to C4, so let’s start here. You said you have a ea3 in the rack. Q1. what exactly is the ea3 controlling? Q2. What are your future plans? What else do you want to control? If you are unsure of what you want it’s probably a good idea to go visit a showroom to see what it’s capable of or some YouTube videos. Best thing you can do for yourself is figure out exactly what you want your system to do and create a plan to achieve it and not try to acquire this and that without a plan as some stuff will not work together properly. Q3. How do you play your music, local sources, tidal, Apple Music, Spotify etc? the reason I ask these questions is to better answer your question. For multiple zones of audio in which you want different music in each you need and amplifier and an audio matrix (2 seperate units - you have multiple different triad amps and triad matrix’s to suit your need). Before C4 used to have a matrix amplifier (1 unit) but as stated above it’s now end of life. There are other matrix amplifiers that integrate well with C4 like Episode Response Matrix Amplifier or Anthem MDX. A Sonos amplifier will power up a zone of audio, but you’ll need multiple to power up multiple zones. For me the integration with control4 is meh. A Sonos port is a player or music source which you output the audio into a audio matrix to have it play in your other zones in C4.
  3. I’ve used keymap editor and it works. My use case was on an Nvidia shield, in full screen video I wanted it so that when I press back the video will stop instead of playing in the background. To do this I went into the keymap editor addon, then edit then full screen video, then Browser back then you have 5 seconds to press the key you want on the remote. The last step is to go back to the first page of the adding and save config. Hopefully that gives you an idea of how to get it going,
  4. You can use Keymap editor, this is a addon found in the Kodi repository. It allows you to change button presses to exactly what you want.
  5. The way you feel about the palladium’s is the way I feel about the C4 stuff. Hence I just think they’d do well with a different line that’s not based on the current lineup. If only I knew where to begin - a business idea create skins for the keypads. Allow for the same mechanism but different looking keypads.
  6. I get the price difference but they can introduce a new lighting device and call it their “premium range” and charge more for it.
  7. I love C4 but the reason I haven’t jumped into lighting that much is the keypads. Perhaps it’s just me or my taste but it seems C4’s keypads are still oldschool looking and don’t have the refinement that a lutron palladium keypad has. I have a few dimmer pucks and switches around the house but I’d transition the whole house over in a heartbeat if they were to update their keypads to better looking ones. again people always seem to go in arms over stuff like this but I’m not trying to bash C4 or anyone who has these keypads in their houses. I’m just stating what I’d like to see as an end user and hopefully C4 has something up their sleeve. Plus I’m also genuinely curious how one with a multi million dollar house with high end gear opts for the C4 keypads these days with the way they look?
  8. Are these still up for sale and pricing?
  9. Just wondering which one I should pick? Do they both integrate with C4? Or which one works better for C4? The integration I’m looking for is if someone rings the doorbell I want to be able to use the intercom anywhere app to unlock the door. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. You just need the Qolysis panel.. and the control is via IP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yes I have my panel integrated. From control4, you can see and change the state of the alarm. You can also see the states of the sensors or it shows you which sensors are in the open position. In terms of what you can do programming wise, you can set it to send you a notification if the alarm is on. this weekend I’m going to try and use one of the motion sensors to program that if it senses motion to turn of a few lights. Will let you know how this works but it should be ok. Honestly don’t know how much more they can give for integration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Follow this https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT207057 in order to setup the AppleTV in HomeKit or set it as a home hub. Then after go on your phone > Control4 app > Settings > Apple TV Control > Enable Control ON Hopefully that works. If not you might need to reboot your controller for the setting to take effect. If that doesn’t work, you probably need to reach out to your dealer and have him take a look at the settings. Just tell him you’ve added the Apple TV to HomeKit and that you do see the controller in HomeKit. Hope that helps and good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. For anyone who’s interested. The fix was simple after all. I changed my Apple TV’s from manual IP on the Apple TV to automatic in network settings. I did my reservations on my network controller (Ubiquiti). Thanks for all the help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for that, I realised I hadn’t binded the audio volume in the room hence it wasn’t working. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hoping to get the intent strings Kodi if someone has it? The one I have doesn’t directly launch Kodi, it just takes it to the Nvidia shield home page. Same as Netflix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
