How to program my remotes to record.

The recording happens on the AT&T TV app. On the apple TV the double Cancel click allows you to close any open apps. I can no longer make that happen. -
Ok, I have Apple TV as a choice in my (watch). Within Apple TV I have AT&T as a selection. When I am watching AT&T TV I want to record some shows. BUT, I can't find anywhere to program my 7", Neeo or iPhone to select the record button. Am I missing something. I am also looking for the back Button as on the apple TV remote, it has specials functions. These functions are not available on the Control4 remotes???????
