I have had this solution running since late November, 2022, and it SEEMS to be working.

Update after three months...Spotify has been coming back on intermittently after setting AUTO PLAY = NO. Have to figure out what the next steps are since it is quite a shock when all of my zones come on at 100% at 2am!!! Any other suggestions would be much appreciated! Image of current settings attached. Going to try setting "Power Off Rooms When Paused" to "After 15 Seconds" instead of "Disabled".

Setting AUTO PLAY = NO appears to have solved the problem, as of today!

Testing began yesterday. I will update after one week with a status.

Got it! Trying Auto Play = NO first.

One step at a time: I will go into each room and disable auto play and give it a week or so to see what happens. Step two, if needed, will be to go into Spotify settings and turn off "Spotify Connect in background". Question: isn't Spotify Connect the way I am able to launch Spotify and then select my C4 zones within Spotify?

Scenario · Composer HE 3.3.0 · Controller 3.2.1.592369-res · Samsung Galaxy S21+ with current Android operating system Symptoms · Within Spotify on my phone, I select a playlist and then launch C4 room(s) I want to deliver music to (all via Spotify) o Volume is preset for each room · When I press “Pause” in Spotify and then “End Session” in the C4 app everything apparently shuts down · Intermittently, 5-10 minutes later the music comes back on in all of the rooms at a high volume level o This even happens after I press pause in Spotify app and SWIPE away the app to close it · What is causing the music to start playing again?

Will try now! Also implementing the Epic-Systems Echo driver to run it all with Alexa commands. I have the TV coming on to either Cable, Chromecast, or AppleTV. Next step is to get Spotify/C4 working and then add Alexa commands!

I just created a new playlist and the heart doesn't show up. However, on "external" playlists, Spotify Radio Stations, etc. there is a "Follow" button that moves that item into my "Playlists". Once followed, the heart shows on the Win10 app, but it shows as "following" on the Android app. I'll keep playing around with it. How do I add the playlist to the C4 app as a preset? I can't find that functionality in the Android C4 OS3 app.

Thanks, @dcovach! I don't see anywhere in Spotify to "heart" a playlist. I can "heart" a song but not a playlist. When you say "select the preset and favorite to room" do I need to do that in Composer HE or on the Android App?

How do I favorite a playlist on the C4 OS3 version of the Android app? I can't find a way to do it.

We have multiple zones configured in C4 that show up as options in Spotify. So, I can select to play Spotify just Inside (3 zones), everywhere (6 zones), etc. Still need to use the C4 Android app to turn zones off. See attached...

I don't see a way to save a "preset"/playlist from my Android app. Is it possible? Does it work on iOS? Or, only on a C4 tablet? I've asked C4 tech support but can't seem to get an answer.

Got it! So, to play music on Spotify I always have to launch from Spotify? I was under the impression, per page 7 of the same guide, that I should be able to use the C4 app, select listen, select spotify, and then select a playlist. Also, trying to "Add Preset icon" per the C4 spotify user guide, page 5, using my Android C4 OS3 app. However, the heart/favorite icon does not appear. Thanks for clarifying! I can launch from Spotify and select the room I want to broadcast to with no problem. However, I need suggestions on how to run a Spotify Session from the Control 4 Android App instead of launching from Spotify.

We are setting up Spotify on C4 OS 3.2.1 today and encountered an issue when attempting to save a playlist per the Control 4 "Spotify User Guide Rev A" on my Galaxy S10+ Android. There is not an "Add Preset Icon" button using the current C4 app on the Galaxy. See page five of the attached user guide for a screen shot of my phone. Any ideas?!? spotify-user-guide-rev-a.pdf

You should be able to have your dealer setup C4 to work with Alexa like this https://youtu.be/-o_hJHOmGLg using the Epic-Systems driver (lights, audio, video, shades, pool, etc.).
