  1. I figured that You should be able to run digital and analog and thought it was very weird when the digital line is what screwed everything up. I did go to update manager it's not on the list and has to be done either to ovrc Or manual somehow. Thank you for that password I will definitely try that tonight. As I said in one of the others posts ( And I know my posts are way too long lol) But I cannot get it on ovrc as the other person will not take it off theirs or respond to me. So I'm hoping that password you just gave me will work. I very much appreciate it thank you that is awesome
  2. So basically if I can figure out a way with the help of all of you on how I can trigger trigger the URC amp to turn on. Their amps are usually just networked amps networked amps and programmed through total control accelerate programing. So that is my problem, being able to somehow have the amp turn on when I need it to. Turning on is a must but I would love to be able to turn it on and OFF somehow then if we can figure that out with the single zone amps, I then want to star figuring out how to use the URC multi zone amps in control4
  3. No I totally understand what you're saying and yes I know how's program and and make my physical and logical connections. Physical connections. Physical in the real world lol logical on composer but the URC amp does not have a 12 volt trigger It has an IR port. So I was then going to just make my own driver but those amps do not come with a remote control and you cannot find the IR hex codes anywhere. I have searched long and hard for them and I have even gotten in contact with URC headquarters as a dealer myself.. They told me even though I am a URC dealer they do not give out the IR codes it's to anybody and that port is strictly for URC engineers to use. I did not tell them that I was using it in a control4 atmosphere, before you ask I was simply it was simply telling them that I was trying to make a custom I'm practicing with the amp but still no luck
  4. Cops monitoring!! I also use clareone in my business and my monitoring company has been COPS Monitoring since the beginning. They have always been great and based right here in the USA. My customers think it's all me because the monitoring company even says my company's name correctly and most don't Hope that helps
  5. Ok so I have another question for the group. I have so many single zone and multi zone amps and was wondering if there is anyway to use them as a dumb amp with a smart audio matrix? I am a urc dealer also (but really only do control4 now. Only the best:-)) and URC won't even give out the ir codes so creating a driver is out. The URC amps have an. Ir in on the back. Someone has to of had figured this out by now. Any help would be great. Now that I learned how to use the audio matrix (don't know how I ever lived with out it or even how I would set up multiple audio systems without it? But now all I want to use is an audio matrix in every system going forward. There are so many great uses for them!! So I am putting it out there to all you amazing integrators out there. Hopefully from one that is still learning and willing to ask for help after 1st trying on my own for days (me) to all of you that have been doing this for years. Teach me and let me be your padewan learner :-). how can I use a URC amp in a control4 system ? Thank you in advance Nick Wanerka
  6. I figured it out!!! Well I think I did, I got it to work. I think all it was , was the digital coax line. I was running an rca red and white stereo line from the ea3 to the matrix and also a digital coax from the matrix. I took out the digital and unbinded it and bam!!! It worked and it works great. Each zone with volume. The whole 9 yard. The only problem now is: what I can't have any digital lines coming into the matrix? Maybe I can use a digital to analog audio converter?
  7. So I have it narrowest down to an out of date driver but how can I update the driver? I can't get it on ovrc because the last owner of the unit whom I bought it from still has it attached to their ovrc account and they won't answer me to take it off. I found something on control4's back logs amd it had me download this c4_290_ams_firmware_patch but when I run the application that it says to run and that it came with, it then asks for the ea3's password... ? I don't have a password on my controller. So where can I get the firmware? Right now I am running device firmware v1.06.84
  8. Ok so I'd the 1st dip switch is up and the rest are down then all the zones will play what is on input 1? Not sure I am getting it
  9. All the dip switches except the 1st one are off. . I did try my autonomic amp and that works exactly how it should. Hope that helps
  10. Yes each output from the matrix matches the input of the amp. So matrix output 1 goes to amp input 1, matrix output 2 goes to amp Input 2 and so on
  11. Thank you for the response and yes this is crazy. But when I turn on the 1st zone (does not matter which one it is) yes the amp does come on and all the numbers in blue come up but no sound out of anything until I turn on any other zone. Just 1 zone on and then a second (once again it does not matter which zone) but then all 7 zones are playing at the preset on volume and that's it until I turn off the 2 zones that are on. I will check the grid in composer when I get home. Like I said earlier unfortunately by the time I get home tech support on closed also the dip switches: I have zone 1 up and the rest down. So that all zones can receive zone 1 input
  12. I'm with msgreenf, why do you want to do that? I did not think it matters to much. Or does it? Now you have me thinking. Would the ea5 process complex macros and automation faster? What would be the advantages of doing this?
  13. Ok I have been trying all day to make this work, and all night looking for answers on line. Please help. Here is the problem. I have an triad 24x24 audio matrix switch and an 8 zone triad power amp 100 WPC. I am using 7 of the 8 zones, I have an digital coax line coming from the ea3 to the digital audio inputs on the matrix and a stereo line with rca coming from the ea 3 to the analog audio inputs on the matrix. Then from the matrix I have red and white rca lines coming from the analog audio output on the matrix going to thw zone inputs on the amp. (Red and white) rca for output 1 on matrix to red and white input on amp. 1 set for each of the 7 zones that are in use. In composer I used the discover tap ssid for the matrix and just double clicked to add it in my room called "rack". Which I keep hidden on the navigator. Then added the triad 8-zone power amplifier 100 from search. In connections for the matrix audio: input 1 is binded to ea3 audio out and on matrix audio input 17 for digital coax is binded to ea 3 digital audio out. Lower down; Audio/video outputs I have audio output 1 binded to 8 zone power amp audio input 2 and so on for each auto output. Audio output 2 to 8 zone amp audio input 2.... Lower down; Room Control room selection 1 RoomControl audio_volume output is binded to family room>audio volume 2, room selection 2 RoomControl audio_volume output is binded to kitchen>Audio volume 1 and so on for each zone 8-zone power amplifier 100 WPC connections: Audio 1 / Global input audio stereo input is binded to triad 24x24 matrix switch> audio output 1, audio input 2 is binded to Triad 24x24 audio matrix switch>audio output 2 and so on for all 7 zones A little further down on 8 zone amp connections the 12 volt trigger out is binded to triad 24x24 audio matrix Further down; room Control Zone 1 audio End-point RoomControl Audio_selection output binded to family room>audio end-point 2, Zone 2 Audio end point binded to kitchen>audio end-point 1 and so on Problem: let's say I choose the kitchen and hit listen and choose a source and source. On my screen it says it is playing and I can control volume but I hear nothing . Until I add a any other zone to play with it (does not matter what zone) amd when I do, then all the zones come on. Even though the volume shows it is going up and down, every zone is on and stays on the same volume and won't go up or down. I have to turn off the zones or end session. So I get no sound on 1 zone or choose 2 or more zones and get all 7 on at same time. Also it does not matter where I start. I could be in master bathroom Zone amd start xm radio amd hear nothing until I choose another zone like office and then all 7 zones are on at same sound level and cannot change but on my touch screen or phone app it says it's changing. Please help I am going crazy. Ps I am the dealer and it's my own house and no I have not called c4 yet because I want to be home when I do for obviously reasons. They will probably tell me to try this or want to log onto my system and by the time I get home they are closed. It's Sunday night at 11:45pm and i started this project at 9 am this morning. You can only imagine how crazy I am going right now. Please any suggestions Thanks I provided screen shots of composer too
  14. Yes I was about to say I have spectrum in Wan 1 and att internet into Wan 2. Wan 2 is only active when spectrum goes down. It's used for a back up
  15. Yes I am looking to get out of my family business , yes I am a new Control4 dealer also. I was certified as a control4 dealer a little over a year ago. My father who was the owner of the company and the license holder passed away 2 months ago. That forced me to get my Florida unlimited Electrical contracting license, which I did, but there are to many hands in the cookie jar. Since my dad's passing, I have 4 family member's, 1 being my mother (Who does not need the money 1 bit, as my dad left her very well off), but these 4 family member's all think they are entitled to a weekly salary but not have to do anything for that weekly salary. So instead of fighting it out in court, or worse, at family dinners, since I am now the license holder, I figured just close the business. Yes it is heart breaking, but honestly I have no real good choice. So I have been sending out that letter to anyone that posted a control4 job. I am still 100% willing to do some remote programming for you for free. I figure the more I can show the Control4 community what I can do, the better. Then I can get my name around and that will hopefully help me land a good job. A lot of people talk the talk and say how good they are, and that they can program/install any control4 system, but when asked to prove there worth then its a whole different story. Well I am willing to talk the talk and walk the walk, show anyone that will give me a chance what I can do. So there it is in a nut shell. If you need some remote programming done, I am your man. If you have a job in the home automation/AV/Networking business then I am still your man
  16. Good afternoon, My name is Nick Wanerka. Are you still looking for someone? I just turned 42 years old 2 weeks ago, my wife, daughter and myself are looking to make a major change. I have worked for my family business all my life in NY. I started and have been running the florida branch since right after 9/11. We closed the NY branch down when my father got sick 3 years and now that he passed 2 months ago, I am contemplating closing the florida branch. To much family politics. Evwn though I started the FL branch from nothing but my father's license and money,, the rest of the family thinks they should have a cut of the business and wants to be put on weekly payroll but not do anything to earn the money. ( obviously that will kill the business in weeks). So it is time to shut it down and start over. I have been an electrician since I was 13 years old. After my father passed (the license holder) I went and took the Florida unlimited electrical contractor's exam and passed. So I now have an unlimited FL electrical contracting license which is one of the hardest in the country to obtain and is congruent in many other states. Which relates in that I can also install the control4 switches and dimmers. Don't need an outside Contractor to do it (saves money) . I am also certified in all 4 control4 groups. Control 4 associate installer, automation programmer, centralized lighting and also I am PCNA certified (professional Certified networking Administrator). All 4 groups that control4 offer. I am also certified in clare controls (alarm systems and home automation) . I hold certification in Lutron RadioRa 2 and also the new RadioRa 3 that just came out, Lutrons commercial automation vive, for small to medium office spaces, I am a Lutron certified Residential contractor and also certified I'm ra2 select and caseta. I am certified in URC Total control 2.0 and 3.0 too. I know I am missing a couple there, but I think you get the point that I absolutely love home automation, surround sound systems and custom home theater rooms. I also have been installed wired and wireless alarm systems, programming them and setting them up with our monitoring company (we use COPS monitoring). The only thing I would keep going down here in Florida if I was to relocate to a job, is the alarm and networking side. I have about 25 customers with the alarm side and about 18 customers that have full home network and wifi systems that we sold, installed and keep up the maintenance (only started the alarm side 8-9 months ago). I have a good friend that would be able to dona service call here and there if needed and everything else I can do remotely through OvrC for the networks and fusionpro for the alarm systems. Even my control4 customers i can program remotely. The service contracts with my control4 customers I would be willing to hand them over to my next employer after there contracts are up and ready for renewal. Basically I have the experience of a business owner and the knowledge of a very seasoned home automator and throw in my vast electrical knowledge and unlimited FL ec license and you have the perfect employee. I am not looking to own my own business anymore so there is no threat of me ever stealing customers, but on the flip side you would be hiring someone that will work your business like it is his own. I know what and what not to do already. My company is doing well here in Florida. I started with just me and a truck and built it up to 6 guys, 5 trucks an office and showroom, but it is just not worth the family drama anymore. My wife agrees with me, if I don't walk away now, then it will kill me. I will die of a heart attack or stroke. It is just hard to find work in my town or even in a 100 mile radius because people know my name and would always be worried that I was just trying to steal work or something along those lines. Plus with my experience and knowledge, people don't want to hire me because they think it's made up. I have a lot of credentials, so they don't even give me the chance to prove it. I can email copies of every certificate, license and training that I have gone through. People ask how do I have all of those credentials, I tell them it is very easy when you absolutely love what you do. So I only ask for a chance for you to look at my resume and talk to me on the phone. I promise to not disappoint. Thank you Sincerely, Nick Wanerka Nwanerka@gmail.com

  18. yes if they are control4 switches or dimmers then they are addressed by there ZigBee nodes. Each c4 switch/dimmer can be programmed for a tap once, twice and 3 times and also a hold for top and bottom. so you could have each switch have 8 different commands, and each command can be linked to a preset program or lighting scene or even both. The options to make a c4 switch are almost endless. I have one switch that when you double tap the bottom, it is them programmed to first turn on the garage light and open the garage door, then it will start the goodbye lighting scene after 60 seconds seconds, turn off any av equipment in the house. (TV's, AVR's, DVD/Blu-Ray players, any streaming music and amps that might be left on), plus then after 3 min the garage door closes, and the alarm is set to away and the garage light turns off, (all the other lights should have gone off after the first 60 seconds). But I also have conditions in the same program. for example when the goodbye lighting scene is triggered and it is after dusk, then the outside lights will stay on, (the outside lights are already set up on timers through control4) but if it is during the day then the outside lights are turned off, and all I do is double tap the bottom of one of my switches on the way to the garage. But I think this sort of programming can only be done at the dealers level. HE might not have those capabilities. Your local dealer should be able to set all of that up for you, but he/she will probably charge a nice penny for it. If so and your looking to save money, then other dealers can do all that programming remotely. I am a new dealer and just trying to get my feet wet in this industry now that I went out on my own. If your local dealer does not want to do it, or are to busy or want to charge to much, then I would like to do it for you. Free of charge for the first couple of programming of switches. Like I said I am a new dealer but have been doing Home automation for many years. I am certified in URC total control 2.0 and 3.0, Lutron RadioRa 2 and also the new Lutron RadioRa 3, Clare controls, Control 4 home automation associate installer, Programmer, Centralized lighting and also PCNA (professionally certified network Administrator). I have all 4 certifications from control4. Plus many other credentials and I am a Florida state Certified Unlimited Electrical Contractor, and if you ask around, the state of Florida Unlimited EC exam is one of the hardest in the country. But like I said just throwing it out there if your local dealer does not want to get involved, I never want to step on a happy control4 dealer/customer relationship. So if you need me then here is a way to start the conversation and exchange info. You can email me and then we can go from there. I would then Like to talk to you on the phone so get an idea of what your looking to do, your daily routines ect. and give you any ideas if you need. Then go from there Nick Wanerka Wanerka Electric of Florida + Wanerka Low-Voltage and Security You can reach me at Nick@wanerka.com
  19. So I have to ask... are the josh.ai's worth all the hype and the price? I got approved to be a dealer but I haven't pulled the trigger yet because of the money I have to put down upfront? It's alot and I know I get it in product but then would I be able to sell them to my customers ? (Are my customers willing to pay for them) So can you explain the difference and what makes them amazing besides the privacy aspect and i guess they don't have to connect to the cloud. Thank you in advance ☺
  20. Try changing your network. It might be the .100. Try to redo your network with 192.168.1.x And don't forget your subnet mask too I like to use 192.168.10.x With a subnet mask of 255.255.255.254
  21. Here's the thing though, yes that will tell you of the led lights on the switch will come on, but the c4 dimmer or switch could still be bad. You have to put some sort of load on the switch to see if it will send the power and hold a given load. I have had a couple c4 dimmers led lights come on and work but would not turn the load on or off and of course not dim. Then I had another c4 switch do all of that bit the zigbee antenna/ or zigbee chip inside of the switch would not send or receive any info so the customer could not control the lights from anywhere but the switch location. So you see it is best if you at least take an 6" led retro trim and cut off thr socket end and wire that to the switch and then make sure through composer that you can see it and the zigbee chip is working. Just a little 10 min advice that will save you hours later down the road
  22. How much and what model number please
  23. Is that just for one Or is that for 2 of them?? I only asked because I cause I can get a new T4 8 inch touchscreen for $603. The T3 was discontinued and c4 does not even sell them anymore but I am willing to buy one because I have a customer that already has a bunch of T3's in their home and would like another one so they all match but it really depends on what your realistic price is for 1 of them. Please message me With your final offer and if we can work something out I will buy it from you right now.. You can ask anybody on this forum, anytime I say I will buy something, I do. I pay right away And there's never any Hassle. Please message me when you see this and let's work something out
  24. Just to let everyone know, I have purchased some of these access points from chopedogg88 before and it was a great experience. The units where like brand new. It was a pleasure dealing with chopedogg88. He is 100% straight up professional and I would buy from him any time!!!
