  1. Hi all - firstly thank you to everyone who has reached out and offered help till now, I really appreciate everyone chipping in with their advice and offers of help - thank you again! Following up on my prior post about the C4 switches I’m removing, below is a summary of most of the switches we are selling. There are 3 more which we haven’t removed yet but based on what we have removed so far I anticipate there being 2 x the ‘120’s and 1 x the ‘2077 model. total summary: - 5 x model C4-SW120277 (switch) - 6 x model C4-FPD120 (forward phase dimmer) - 2 x C4-KD120 (keypad dimmer) - 1 x C4-KA (auxiliary keypad) as you can also see - approx 6 switches need a new faceplate. I also have wall faceplates (several of them - mostly doubles) which I can include in the package. Pls suggest an offer - happy to discuss! all the best, Bryanne
  2. hi there! after 2 months of failed attempts, i finally managed to find an electrician who can help me with the control4 replacement. we've decided to remove all switches (i don't have a processor unit) as we can't really realize the full value of the system without investing a lot more money which we can't do right now. so i'm offering up all our switches to try to sell them. please let me know if you are interested - we live in the west end of toronto. i should have: a) 2 central control panels for up to 5 connection points plus dimmer up/down and b) 14 x 3way dimmer switches, plus one dimmer switch which has very short connecting wires in case it can be salvaged. thanks again to this forum which was very helpful in trying to figure out what to do - awesome moderation too! (ps - some of the switches may need plate replacement but not totally sure if they are just not installed properly; i've been informed that the plate replacement should be less than $10 but i haven't verified that). happy to provide pics if needed. message me directly if interested, thanks!
  3. Once again - thank you to everyone who has offered their advice, this is all very helpful! If I am completely honest, I really don't need wifi/wireless light switches - any of them - and in all but 2 cases I don't even need a dimmer and would prefer to switch out pretty much all C4 switches for simple on/off (esp since most of them are in bathrooms where we don't need wireless dimming) - even Lutron switches TBH are overkill (I checked these out already at HD). I am VERY happy to exchange the switches for some advice on how to do this - any takers? BTW - the switches I have are about 5-6 years old I'm guessing - not sure if this makes any difference. Thanks again! Happy to swap phone numbers if anyone is able to talk me through it! I am also in the process of getting a licensed electrician who can do the technical stuff...I am ok to do my own basic stuff but this is out of my league for sure.
  4. thank you @msgreenf! I suspect you are right and that I can get up and running for under $1000, but I don't know how to do that. Where can I buy the equipment? Is there a network of C4 technicians that I can tap into to help me - either do the installation or whom I can pay to provide guidance on what I can DIY? Sorry - I'm still pretty lost on how to go about this! Thanks again...
  5. Hi all - I hope you can help me - seems there are a lot of knowledgeable people here, so I'm hoping you can! We bought a house about a month ago, it has Control4 switches (3 way, dimmers) throughout most of the house. The prior owners did not complete the installation - they did not install the processor unit - and on top of that, most of the switches are broken (face/switch plates falling off, on/off is delayed or requires multiple presses of the switches, dimmers installed where bulb/fixture dimming isn't functional), so I need to figure out whether to fix or replace the existing switches, and replace with what? We also inherited C4 thermostats, but I'm not even sure those can be controlled remotely - we don't have any manuals or anything. I had a C4 representative team come to the house, and after emphasizing that we could not afford something OTT or uber fancy as we have a pretty small house and very little budget, they sent me a proposal for nearly 5K (CAD). The technician didn't really listen to what I asked (keep it simple), and sent me a crazy proposal with things we didn't even discuss (or I said no - we don't need it) like sound bars and front door security etc etc, which we really don't want or need. I just want functional light switches without breaking the bank. I feel like I'm stuck with broken switches and a house that doesn't work and a brand rep that is taking advantage of our helplessness on how to deal with these fancy gizmo's that are too much for what we need in a small house. Is there an affordable way to fix up what the former owners started or do we need to bite the bullet and pay to replace everything with non C4 switches? I'm stuck and really need help to find an affordable solution! thanks so much if you can help me, and happy to sell/donate switches if anyone can help me find a good solution Here is a link to our current switch inventory in case anyone has the time to take a look and share some guidance/advice: https://www.dropbox.com/s/86npo08lzqgd8ym/SWITCHES AUG 2021 v2.pdf?dl=0
