  1. What brands are preferred for use? I am delving into the ultra short throw options and there is quite a bit of choice. So maybe someone has already tested some and found a champion.
  2. I also believe it will be the booting where the processing is neither on nor off or doing a hardware test on boot , so during the decision making it flashes. I had the same issues as in South Africa we have load shedding so almost a daily occurrence. Either way I highly doubt a code will overcome a hardware flaw.
  3. How old is your home? You plan on rebuilding it every 15 years? Homes on average are 30 years plus with all their electrical cables still installed. I want to know my homes system that controls it will be future proof. DIY in 30 years probably won't be here. Even Microsoft 30 year tech is way old and probably not usable. However Microsoft is still here and if you followed their upgrades you would still be functional.
  4. One of my main views on C4 vs DIY is the stability of the solution and definitely its coding power. I have been assisting in installing the new Legrand range and something as simple as a arrive or leave button has to be a dedicated button that you stick on the wall. So by the time you have lights, blinds, function keys etc there is no longer an option for minimalist looks. A solution thsts rock solid and easily transferred between dealers also is a big high point. How do you sell a fully automated home thats on DIY? I highly doubt they would want to buy in to a one of. I sold a house fully C4 and the new owner was not tech savvy at all. Took 2 weeks and they couldnt live without it. With C4 your home will live with you. Make tasks simple. Anything you do must be to improve ones lifestyle not add difficulties. My wife questioned why i wanted automated curtain tracks. After a month she couldn't live without it and now its a simple double click of a light switch to open/close, turn on a bathroom extractor. The list goes on and on. And I know in 10 years C4 will still support their systems. DIY solutions come and go but my home will do 100 years or more.
  5. Can this driver still run alongside the original Hikvision android software and the DS-KH8350-WTE1? I have a working solution and do not want to break it, and if I do then at least I know the outcome.
  6. Luckily able to contact original owner. Seemed to be a glitch as it moved across seamlessly after a pc reboot.
  7. Yeah well I am on an island literally in the middle of nowhere. So no chance of that happening. Guess for now use it as a dumb local device. Had presumed so after previous research and reads
  8. I am presuming the previous owner/integrator would need to release the unit as I am unable to add to OVRC despite it finding it and allowing the add button, which fails with DEVICE NOT ADDED. Hopefully a work around without having to trace owners details. Is what it is.
  9. Yeah its my idea. I had a 16amp and it performed very well. Lack of matrix is a bit of an added cost worry as well. Spec sheet on the new says as you use zones so output per zone drops. Kinda odd only having 25 watts per zone whereas 16amp is 100 watts a zone. So i read anyways
  10. So a question I am sure has been asked and answered before, not lazy to search but believe as hardware ages it swings the vote one way or another. So C4-16amp3-b or Triad TS-PAMP8-100? Which is worth the squirt?
  11. Hi. Anybody able to cost on supplying 2 × Triad streaming amps to Madeira Portugal. Cheers.
