  1. Nice setup you have there. Thanks for the help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Great recommendations. I’ll check out that article. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for that. 40w is not bad at all. Just that when I heard that fan blasting when we arrived on a summer weekend I figured it would be more. So really it’s about getting that C4 cooked off. I’ll be investing in a rack fan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks for the suggestions. As for security, we’re in a fairly secure 9 story doorman building… I do have a camera setup outside of the C4 just to capture movement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. We have shades and keep them down when not home. We’re in a south facing building with all window across all rooms. It’s crazy how hot it can get with shades down. I was also going to look to get that 3m professional film but heard it’s fairly pricey if you’ve got a lot of glass. Might pay for itself though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. But then I get to upgrade:) Maybe worth it. Hahaha honestly though, if I could quiet it down for her in that room she would appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I think I’m ok there but I’ll double check. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Those look good. I have a vent plate below the C4. Maybe I place it there and then put a vent plate on top of the C4 by moving things up a shelf if I ditch a blue ray player? Unfortunately my wife would kill me if I cut a vent into the closet door:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I might be able to ditch the blueray player (never used)and move the Luxul and Araknis up to give space for a vent plate on top of the C4. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. My rack (from previous home owner) is located in a closet in a 2nd bedroom/office. During the summer it can get hit in this room since it gets a lot of sunlight. Since it’s a 2nd home we’re not always there and won’t run the HVAC. The C4 EA-5 fan will be super loud when it kicks into high gear. Usually I leave the closet doors open to get air in there (unless in a zoom call) but there’s no vents. Although a fan doesn’t solve that problem, I’m looking to install a fan in the rack under the C4. Any recommendations for type, brand, exhaust vs pulling air in… can I install directly under the C4? 12. I inherited a C4 system in a small 2nd home/condo. My main question is around the best method for shutting down the entire system when I know we're not going to be around for awhile. Yes I won't be able to set the HVAC when away (the only remote thing I tend to use occasionally... no cameras, alarm, etc.) but I'd like to cut down on the electric bill. Just seems like a waste especially when I hear that fan kick in high gear when it's hot in the apartment which is going to be another post at some point. Can I simply hit the master switch on the power supply to shut everything down (partial list below) or is that a bad idea? (eg. C4 or Lutron RadioRA2... doesn't want to boot up or something) -Control4 EA-5 -5 Control4 7” T3 Touch Screens -Luxul Epic-5 Gigabit Router -Araknis AN-210-SW-R-24-POE 24-Port POE Switch -TP-Link EAP225 Wireless Access Point -Lutron RR-MAIN-REP Radio RA2 -Panamax M5300-PM Power Conditioner -Control4 Wireless Thermostats (Heat Zones) -Intesis Box Wireless Gateway (AC Zones) -All amps, receivers, AppleTVs, power supply , etc. One thing I'm not sure of is if powered down (or power outage), what happens with the C4 Wireless Thermostats that drive the baseboard radiator heat. Can those work w/o C4 control powered up.
  13. Recently bought an apartment with a C4 system from the previous owner. I didn't get much help or instruction so I'm learning as I go here. The house is wired with Lutron RA2 Maestros and a Lutron RadioRA2 which I assume connects to the C4 somewhere. The only thing the previous owner wrote about the lighting that I'll need a dealer to make changes. Now, I can and have set lighting scenes via Control4 (thank go) but the 20 switches default dimmer setting is so low (like movie viewing) throughout the entire house and guests (and my wife) don't know how to use these dimmers (double tap to go full level). On top of this, apparently the lutron dealer either didn't provide a client login for the lutron app (for some settings) or the previous owner lost it and all he wrote was that I would need a lutron programmer to make any changes. First off, does anyone know if there's a way I can program these remotely so I'm not on the hook for an onsite visit just to give me a login and set a dimmer level. I realize this isn't a Lutron forum but figured I'd ask. Second, I'm new to C4 and wasn't given a Composer HE license (not sure what I could do with that anyway yet) so I don't really know how the integration with C4 really works. What on the RA2 side of things could break the integration with C4 (eg. I'm given a new lutron client login and maybe those creds were used for the C4 integration...). Thanks for the help.
  14. Good idea to unplug the wifi and see what's not work. Thanks
  15. Thanks Cyknight I inherited everything except the modem which I just had installed and everything seems to be working. There's a Lulu Epic 5 router, a TP-LInk EAP225 wireless gateway and a Araknis PoE switch. Seems like a bit overkill for a 2 bedroom apartment:) No plans on replacing those at this point. As for wifi devices, not exactly sure yet what devices are running via wifi. Using Fing (I THINK fing only shows wifi devices) I see maybe 20 devices including AV receivers (hardwired to rooms and ethernet but maybe showing up for Airplay?), Sonance channel amps (not sure why on wifi), AppleTVs (hardwired in rack but probably has wifi enabled), a thermostat for a heated bathroom floor, a Control4 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch (guessing since I see 8x8-ams.lan in fing) and others I can't identify. As well as four control4 panels. I do have an inventory list the owner gave me which is helpful (as well as the creds for the router, gateway and switch) Sounding like I might have an issue if I do figure out how to change the wifi pw on this wireless gateway. Updating the pw for AV and panels might be straight forward but there's things here I don't know yet how to get to an interface, plus other devices I can't yet identify. My main concern is the weak wifi pw and just simply changing the previous owner pw.
