Hi, looking into both options. I have a Rachio with some Hunter solenoid valves to water my greenhouse plants. But I'm being asked to look into a water shut off valve for our main. If there is one that is smart and cheap, that would be good. Just putting feelers out there, as I'm certain its one of those situations where cheap and smart don't produce results. Thanks!

I'm looking into getting a water shut off valve for a water main. Has to be 1/2 inch and either IP or Zigbee controlled. I've already found a couple, but they are pricey and have features I don't really need. Just need a simple one. Hey, I've been looking into this for my greenhouse and there isn't any options for just the light sensor. BUT the Tempest Weather station does measure light, but its an overkill just for light measuring. It does measure temp, humidity, wind, rain and its solar powered. Maybe that might help you, as I plan probably to use this for my greenhouse.

Thanks for the info! I wish there are some like the Ecobee thermostat with their Smart sensors, except without the thermostat part, or at least it doens't need all the thermostat features, just a hub to connect the sensors to. Having a lot of the zigbee contact sensors doesn't come cheap, most of the time I suppose I can get away with a couple of them. If Control 4 made just the temp and humidity sensor with batteries or wired, that would be awesome. So much HVAC gets wasted because the temp only gets reported from the thermostat even if it has the "remote" wired temp sensor, its not enough in my opinion.

I use Tempest weather stations already, I was trying to see if anyone had anything else without mentioning Tempest so not to steer the suggestions. What I found out is that Tempest has programming set on the back end where if rain is not forcasted, the rain sensor turns off. Also if its a light rain, it will wait 3 minutes before setting a notification. I needed the Tempest to work as just a rain sensor primarily, and other variables secondary. I called them and what they did was get rid of the programming they had on their back end. The good thing is that, any rain is immediately triggered by the sensor allowing me to close windows. The bad thing is that a strong wind will pick up as rain as its a haptic rain sensor. I thought it was collecting rain and somehow figuring out how much rain was collected. But for me strong wind doesn't matter, the windows still need to close. Either way, call the Tempest support, not Blackwire and give them your station ID, and they will make the changes.

Hi, for the Lumas cameras, the reason they were not showing up on the T4 touchscreen was that the framerate on them was not set right. I don't remember what we ended up choosing, maybe 25 fps? But check those out, i was on the phone with a Control 4 tech, and they mentioned to change the framerate. I had to go into the camera via its own IP address and change it from there.

Is there a wireless rain sensor that has Control 4 drivers? I'm looking for a simple detects water sensor type of a thing I can put on a roof and it would be wireless if possible. Solar rechargable maybe? Another topic is having indoor wireless temperature sensors. I would like to place in multiple of them around the room to get a better room reading for the HVAC system.

Hi, i have a customer that has a couple of cameras missing from showing up in this ios app. I can see all of them on my android and the touchscreens. I did all the standard troubleshooting, refresh navigator, reinstall app. We tried 2 different ios devices, same thing. But on 2 different Android devices it works, they all show up. Any obvious things I'm missing? Cameras are all PoE Lumas from C4. They all get IP address, all same settings, high res with medium quality. Some other settings to look at?
