  1. So you think if I use my ISP router with two access points I should be fine? I would have to remove the RE-2 router, right?
  2. What if don’t want to go the C-4 way, is there an easy way to make this happen? Can’t I just get an Eero router with a few access points? Could I just replace the RE-2 myself and not get a dealer involved?
  3. Hi, I want to get better speeds in my home and don’t know what I should change first. The router, my access point, and have many dead spots too! I have an RE-2 router and a Luxul XAP-1410. I pay for 500gb speeds and am lucky if I get 200gb. My router and access point are both in the basement, and by the time I get to the 2nd floor the wifi is shit! I could use the router that my internet provider gave me but not sure how it would affect my Control4 system. I’ve been told to try Eero, Ubiquiti, and stay away from mesh. I need a little hand holding and given the right info without spending a fortune. I want to stay away from my dealer, money hungry!! Any thoughts how I could maximize speed and coverage the easiest way possible?
  4. Hi, so as long as I keep the same ssid and passwords, it would a simple plug and play? What if I would install 2 ap’s? Install two separate ssid, I always see that mesh is not recommended. Any insight would be appreciated.
  5. Would this be as simple as unplugging the old access point and plugging the new one? No need for a dealer?
  6. I have no problem with the Unifi access points, they are about $300 for the Pro, it’s the big money for the install which is literally unplug the old and replut the new. Can I install myself and set it correctly? I think so. What do you think?
  7. I currently have 1 access point and 1 range extender. My home is 2 floors and a basement for about 2700 sq ft. I was told to use Unifi, and it was the install that was going to cost a fortune. That’s why I wanted to know is it simply plug and play, the wiring is already set up.
  8. Hello, I’m running my Control 4 system a few years now and the access point that my dealer installed is slow and doesn’t reach everywhere. I pay for high speed (500mbps) and I’m lucky if I get half of that. I’ve reached to upgrade but it would cost a small fortune. Can I do this without a dealer? What product would you suggest, good and not on the expensive side? I have a Pakedge RE-2, and my current access point is Luxul XAP-1410.
  9. Is this easy enough that I plug and play or I need to get a dealer involved? Any models you would suggest?
  10. Do you think if I changed for a 2022 access point that would solve my issue?
  11. I have access to a wired connection on the 1st floor and the 3rd floor.
  12. Yes, it’s current on the 1st floor, coverage and speed on the 3rd is crappy.
  13. Hi everyone, i currently have a luxul xap-1410 as my ap, with a pakedge re-2 router. Was good for a while, but now I’m not getting a quarter of the speed that I’m paying for and doesn’t reach my third floor. Seems like old tech in a new age. I’ve reached out to my dealer and well selling little stuff doesn’t seem to be his priority. I’ve read that mesh systems are no good for control 4, so I don’t know what to do. Am I able to change or update on my own without a dealer? What is good to change to that supports wifi 6, good speed and long range. Unifi? Any help would be appreciated… Thanks
