Based on your post it sounds like you maybe should stick with the old setup with the harmony remote. Your dealer can set a default volume for music so when you play a song it dosent not play loudly when you first fire it up. If most of your music is on Qoboz your dealer can install the Qoboz driver for C4. C4 works best when you steam music from the controller using one of their streaming platforms. Unfortunately there is no way for the installer to change the layout of your remote. It’s best to fire up your music from the C4 mobile app it’s what most people use to start music in a room. The best use case for the remote is to change channels and turn a room on or off. You will have to click on a couple of pages to access your Roon. Ask your dealer about adding Roon to your home page which might eliminate one step only. Hope this helps

If your tv is connected IP you will have to contact your dealer. Since you bought another Samsung if it’s connected IR it might work without you needing to contact your dealer. If you have an IR connection there should be a red IR sensor on the tv just make sure you put that sensor on the new tv. But you may have to Google the model number to see where the sensor is on the new tv. Hope this helps

Michael, You have an old C4 amp that probably needs to be replaced as it probably 10 years old. Unfortunately the newer Triad amps require an Amp and matrix separately. The old C4 amp that you have is a matrix and amp in one unit and they don’t make those any longer. Most dealers won’t install used equipment from EBay for multiple reasons. But for you you won’t get any warranty so if the equipment breaks you are back to square one.

Sounds like your dealer needs to find the problem and resolve it. As Msgreenf mentioned changing the DNS to Google is step one, second step should be for your dealer to verify the correct time zone is set on your controller, third IPV6 if its on in your router can cause issues with music streaming or buffering, this should be turned off but you need to log into the router to accomplish this. Lastly if you’re using your internet service provider’s combo router I would recommend getting rid of it. Combo routers cause network issues within a C4 system. I would get a separate router and a separate modem to run your network. I hope this helps but your dealer should already know to try these steps out to resolve your issues.

If you were expecting Alexa to not be clunky then your dealer did not inform you of all the shortcomings as it pertains to voice control. Alexa is clunky at best and it requires extra programming to get it to do the most basic things. I don’t recommend to our clients and if they insist on it we are sure to inform them of all the shortcomings with Alexa and there is nothing we can do to fix the integration. Even Josh Ai which is much more expensive is not perfect as a voice solution. As far as your video issues Cat 6 is plenty good to provide video, not sure what you mean by buggy but I’ve installed projects that have longer runs and we don’t have the issues you are describing. Curious to know if you have a video switch in your project or you are just using baluns as extenders. As far as the sound goes you will always hear the sound before seeing the picture. Remember the system is giving multiple commands to turn on your video source. The system has to send commands to turn on your tv, turn on a receiver if applicable, and change inputs. At most you should be waiting 3 to 6 seconds to see video. If you are still having issues with your video being buggy your dealer should be working with you to get it corrected especially if your system was just installed. If they cannot solve the issue you might want to get a second opinion from another dealer.

It’s because of the software limitations going from an HC 800 to a core controller. I believe all Cores have a minimum software 3.3.1, therefore you have to transfer the project to An Ea controller. Pain I know but it’s the only way

Unfortunately most dealers will not install used equipment purchased on EBay. First the equipment will most likely be out of warranty. Second there is no way to guarantee that the equipment you purchased on EBay will work properly. I’ve heard horror stories of dealers doing customers a favor in this scenario, and then when the equipment breaks and is not working correctly the dealer gets blamed even though the equipment installed was used. It’s more of a lability than anything else and could cause potential headaches with service calls and or equipment not functioning properly. Just my two sense you will have a hard time finding a dealer that will install used equipment.

You have to contact a local C4 dealer to get a quote to get new equipment and have everything working properly. I would start there, sounds like it’s an old system that needs a refresh with new equipment. Everything should work as intended after the upgrade.

It sounds like you and your dealer were not on the same page as far as what you want out of your system and what the system can actually do. Alexa is not great and is very clunky as some people have eluded already. One of the most difficult things to do with Alexa is to change rooms with audio and or turn on music by a specific artist which is not possible with Alexa. Josh Ai can do both of these features, however it’s 10 times more expensive than Alexa and also has Pro’s and Cons. I think if Voice Control was a must for you, I would have have reviewed the pros and cons for both Alexa and Josh. Unfortunately Voice control still has ways to go before it works perfectly more consistently. If you are having video issues I would tell your dealer to come back and fix it, if your system was just installed they owe it to you to make sure it’s working correctly and they should not be charging especially if the system was just installed. If one output needs to be connected to HdMI 1 and the other to HDMI 2. How would would that work if you are wanting to hookup the Zidoo to a video matrix or switch?

I just got my hands on a Zidoo media player. It seems not all my movies scanned properly, as I cannot view certain movies from the Poster Wall section. All my movies are accessible from the Media Center File Manager. I’ve been able to get some movies added to the Poster wall section by playing around and changing the file name. However this has not worked for certain titles and it still won’t add to the Poster Wall Section. Does anyone have any tricks to get the movies added to the Poster wall that did not get added during the initial scan of your HHD? Any help would be appreciated

Experience with Halo so far has proven 5G is not reliable on the Halo. Since I began connecting them on a separate SsID and on 2.4 it seems to perform better and stay connected to the network. I’ve already had to reboot the voice coordinator, because voice stopped working a few weeks ago. Since then it has been working flawlessly.
