Chowmain - Internet Rebooter Driver for Control4! As integrators there are times where we cannot replace ISP provided hardware (eg Cable modem or NBN modem). As such we are reliant on the uptime of these devices and when they go down they take down many of the devices in the home. The Chowmain internet rebooter driver allows reboot of modems, routers, switches, access points and other networking equipment directly from Control4's built in relays. The idea is that the driver will monitor a specific website periodically and if it fails to retrieve the content from that website multiple times it will execute the reboot sequence. Note that this driver requires wiring of Control4's relays upto the power supplies of the networking equipment. Note Chowmain takes no responsibility for damaged hardware as a result of poor wiring.Features Monitor any website for internet uptime (default is google) Power cycle up to 4 devices with different orders, delays and timing. Online and offline events means that you have the ability to power cycle via other means should you choose to. Experience button will allow a user to monitor their internet connection (online / offline) as well as initiate a manual reboot if required (They will need to confirm reboot with a secondary press) FAQ What is the point of this driver? The experience button on navigator requires a double press to reboot. This is to provide a confirmation to ensure that you don't accidentally initiate a reboot sequence. This driver only monitors connectivity to an internet website and performs the reboot sequence based on connectivity to the website. It does not cater for other network related issues such as DHCP server failures. You can however manually initate the reboot sequence through double pressing the experience button on navigator. How do i wire up the relay? The driver allows upto 4 devices to be connected and power cycled (eg a modem, a router, a switch and an access point) If you are using a Control4 relay (eg on a controller, Z2IO or IO Extender) then split one of the wires (eg positive) and connect one side to COM and the other side to NC for each device Does this driver have a safety net? This driver will only initiate the reboot sequence after the 'Number of failed tries before automatic reboot'. Basically it will poll once every 'Website Poll Interval'. If it fails it will retry x number of times every 10 seconds and if it fails it will then perform the reboot sequence. The 'Automatic Reboot Interval (minutes)' limits the amount of reboots to ensure that you don't get into a reboot loop due to something like an internet outage at the exchange or ISP. The fonts in the DriverEditor are so small they're hard to use and don't seem to be scaling or resolution aware. I've tried everything, including dropping resolution down to 1920x1080, adjusting text sizes and zooming, and everything else I can think of. Composer Pro looks fine. As you can see in the screen shot below the font sizes are radically different between the two apps. Is there a magic setting folks use on DriverEditor to have all the fonts rationalize to a readable size?

When should I change the Unit Polling Frenquency value? The more senders/receivers you have connected to the unit, the longer it takes to report the state of each device to the driver. You may need to increase the polling time if you find the response to changes is sluggish (due to the number of senders/receivers or network latency). Another indicator that this number should be increased is if the Lua output window is constantly scrolling when Debug Mode is set to Print. This means that the driver is polling the unit quicker than the unit can respond. I've changed the state of an input/output however, the change hasn't occurred as expected? Forecast.io is backed by a wide range of data sources, which are aggregated together statistically to provide the most accurate forecast possible for a given location. The OpenWeatherMap service provides free weather data and forecast API suitable for any cartographic services like web and smartphones applications. Ideology is inspired by OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia that make information free and available for everybody. Chowmain - Daikin Wifi Split System Driver for Control4 HVAC Split System integration has always been painful. As these systems are traditionally IR based dealers usually either integrate presets or learn every single code combination in. This makes it extremely cumbersome for Control4 dealers to source a reliable HVAC product and in many countries Control4 dealers do not even bother with HVAC integration because it is just too hard. Luckily Daikin has released its BRP072A42 Wifi module for their Daikin Split HVAC units. This is an extremely cost effective making 2 way integration of HVAC to Control4 with simple plug and play functionality. The Chowmain Daikin Wifi driver integrates the BRP072A42 module and provides full 2 way control over temperature, HVAC mode, setpoint, fan speed, swing direction control. We have also added additional functionality to the driver to handle presets and scheduling internally. Setup of hardware and driver should take you no more than 30 minutes once you get the hang of it. The module is extremely affordable and will not void Daikin's manufacturer warranty on the HVAC system. This module is even backwards compatible with older systems. So dealers can now revisit old customers with compatible Daikin HVAC systems to upgrade their home automation system and integrate their HVAC system. This really changes the HVAC game. What HVAC systems can i use this driver with? The BRP072A42 module is developed by Daikin for their Split based HVAC systems. The module will also work with any systems with the S21 port on the indoor PCB. Some Daikin Split Systems (Like the Daikin Zena) also comes preinstalled with this module. This driver is only compatible with the BRPXXXAXX and the BRPXXXBXX models. It is not compatible with the BRPXXXCXX models. NOTE. G'day guys, Developing a driver in LUA, and was wondering if anyone knows of a way to add additional C4i or C4z files to a project programmatically (which I could then edit it's properties externally), similar to Sonos Network (which automatically adds extra players).
