  1. To whom it may concern, I am trying to understand how to set up my HC-250 once I have it and I'm going with a pretty basic setup. Bedroom Xbox One, Roku TV, Maybe Apple TV, two touchscreens, and an SR-250 Remote, However I'm not sure how the IR side of things will work. I've looked up the drivers and found two or three Xbox one drivers, however they're all IR. I'm wondering how I need to make the connections for this to work and if I need IR emitters and stuff. Thanks! -Alexander Szeremeta (P.S I know this is probably a stupid question, but I just got into the DIY side of C4 two weeks ago, so please bare with me)
  2. The setup connections are given below. EA-5 HDMI Output -> Denon Receiver HDMI Input (CBL/SAT) Apple TV HDMI Output -> Denon Receiver HDMI Input (DVD) Denon Receiver HDMI Output -> Samsung One Connect HDMI Input 3 All devices are connected to the same network via a switch 1) Issue 1 I'm using a 4K Apple TV and i used the Apple TV (Gen 4 and 4K) [IP] driver in my project. I followed the documentation provided under Apple Bridge and managed to enable Apple TV in control4 mobile app. I was able to control Apple TV using the control4 remote. But when i restarted Apple TV i lost the control of Apple TV using control4 remote. Then I deleted the system in my mobile app and recreated the system with my login details and was able to get control of it making sure the Apple TV selector is selected under driver properties. Is there a way to continuously keep the control4 remote connected to control Apple TV? 2) Issue 2 I can't get the sound output from Apple TV via the TV speakers. Hope the audio signal travels along the HDMI connection from Apple TV to the Denon Receiver and from there to the TV (Samsung One Connect) Please someone help... Thank You.
  3. Hi, all. My setup is multiroom video distribution of all sources. I just upgraded to the Apple TV 4K driver from the old IP driver (v 107). When I am watching Apple TV in one room, and then turn it on in a second room (, third room, etc.), selecting Apple TV sends the "menu" command, interrupting playback of whatever I am watching. There isn't an obvious way to change this in the settings screen. Is anyone aware of a workaround? What I want is to be able to select Apple TV in additional rooms without having the driver send a "menu" or any other command. Thanks, David
  4. Good Morning, I have a customer with Control4 and I wanted to assist him in switching out Apple TV to the newest 4K (5th generation) Apple TV. Forget about the programming, the display doesn't work when hooked up in exact place the old Apple TV was hooked up. I plugged new Apple TV directly into the Samsung TV hub and the Apple TV worked fine. I'm not quite sure why I can't get the Video to work at least. I talked to the customer and he stated that there was a firmware update possible (a while back), he updated to this new software and everything was failing causing a truck roll C4 Tech stated that they had to backdate driver and now everything is fine again. Except on this new Apple TV. I went to the Yamaha page and it said below Yamaha RX-A750 "This AV receiver completely supports with the latest HDMI standards. Thanks to transmission of 4K video at 60 frames per second pass-through, you can fully enjoy the high definition video quality of 4K without degradation. It also adheres to the HDCP2.2 copyright protection standard for 4K video transmission. It also supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) Video which provide enhanced picture quality by simultaneously enabling greater detail for both the dark and bright parts of an image. Furthermore it supports wider color gamut of BT.2020 pass-thru. *Firmware update is required to enable HDR, and Firmware update schedule is to be decided." My questions are 1) Why wouldn't we be able to update the firmware to support the new 4k and HDR support on this Yamaha, has anyone ran into this? I feel as if the tech's should've already figured this out because there have been multiple calls and no results, but thorough troubleshooting on my part found the issue to be the receiver, not the apple TV or the control 4 configuration. 2) Fortunately, we are going to move this receiver to another room to support more of his hard wired sound, so he will need another Receiver that fully supports 4k and works with C4 as well, any suggestions? Thanks!
  5. I have had an C4-LU862D (4K 8x8 Matrix) installed for about year. I have not been able to get a stereo output at the RCA stereo downmixed from a Dolby Atmos signal. The spec sheet clearly states: Audio formats: All common surround sound formats including Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, Dolby TrueH Analog stereo derived from all audio formats listed above. Programmable audio delay up to approximately 255 ms. Outputs match and follow HDBaseT/HDMI outputs. Models supporting audio downmixing can simultaneously ouput supported surround formats and downmixed stereo audio over HDMI, HDBaseT, and analog audio outputs. The Dolby Atmos signal is derived from programs/movies/shows on Netflix, Prime, and Apple Movies via the latest generation 4K AppleTV (model A1842) connected to the C4-LU862D. When routed to an AV receiver it is clear that the Dolby Atmos signal is recognized (by the AVR) but not being downmixed to stereo. I should mention that the stereo signals from the C4-LU862D are processed through an older C4 16-channel audio matrix (C4-16S2-E-B). The dealer has been unable to resolve and a tech request has gone into Control4 with no response yet. Anyone else experiencing this issue and, if so, have you been able to resolve it? Thanks.
  6. I'm using the theater display switcher to switch between the TV and the projector. These two devices are connected to a Denon AVR along with AppleTV. When I switch to the TV I can navigate to AppleTV and it works. But when i switch to the projector and select AppleTV, the screen goes blank. Can someone tell me the reason ? AVR Model is X2500H.
  7. Is there anyway to get the press and hold to work on C4 remote for apple tv4?
  8. Selling 2 Apple TV 3's in great working condition. Includes power cable and original box. Venmo payments only. $90+shipping.
  9. Is anyone else having issues with the new iOS release 4.2.2 on GEN4 AppleTV. I have one room that is on this update and it is like the unit is possessed. It is almost like a button is pressed and not released. selections hop all around the menu and I cannot select items properly or play anything without if fast forward or rewind. Just curious if anyone else has seen this. Thanks
  10. I have an APTV4, running with EA3 and SR260 remote. It all works fine except that when scrolling around APTV it will often hand for 30secs to a 1 minute being 100% unresponsive to any inputs from the remote. If I use the APTV Siri remote it works fine, and if i wait a minute the SR260 will resume working fine. Anybody else experience this or anybody have any thoughts on fixing it? Its really annoying.
  11. I have one issue in my living room and that is when I shutoff my living room for the night and turn back on apple TV in the morning I get a blank screen. I have checked the apple TV and it is set to NOT go to sleep and NO screensaver. I have attached my C4 settings. Not sure what is causing this. I have to take the AppleTV remote to wake it up. Any suggestions?
  12. I currently have a Drobo that is storing all my movies and acting as my NAS. I was using INFUSE to stream all my movies but have since upgraded to the New AppleTV. I have been trying to use PLEX but it doesn't seem to be scanning my folders completely and picking up all the movies. I am slowly noticing that some movies are missing out of folders here and there. Anything anyone can recommend to stream all my movies, preferable from my appleTV. I am open to other avenues, just need it to be simple. Thanks
  13. So, living in a 2 bed apartment with only one TV (for now) clearly Video Distribution is not high on my list of tasks. But I have been thinking about this as I read other threads, especially as I have been looking at the new Tivo Roamios and just got the Roku3 as an upgrade to my XD|S on a black friday $80 special. So my question to the brain trust is - is the distribution of video moving back to the endpoint? Seems to me that for much less than the cost of a decent matrix you can throw a Tivo Mini and a Roku 3/Apple TV/PopboxV8 behind each TV and have the sources locally. And depending on your cable provider and what you really need at that TV you could even reduce that further. The TimeWarner now has a Roku app that works on the Roku 3 and could pretty much mean that I could have a second TV with a Roku 3 behind it and get live TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon streaming etc, then I can add the Plex app to stream from my NAS drive so all I am missing at this second TV is the ability to watch a BluRay/DVD (but it takes minutes to rip it), and i know many keep the DVD player nearer the screen for ease of use anyway. Single Device - Tivo Mini gets you - Live TV, DVR access, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon (not Prime) Roku3 gets you - Live TV (TWC and some others), Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Plex And these devices are so small that they can all hang off the back of the TV or be put somewhere almost invisible at the endpoint so the visual clutter / furniture becomes less of a problem. At most my apartment will end up with 3 TVs in time as the kids get older. Looking forward, this is how I see planning that media expansion.
