  1. I'm using composer HE, this message always appears at the bottom right status bar. My dealer is confirming that all drivers are updated. Can you please help?
  2. So I have @alanchow 's full kodi driver. I used to have functional shortcuts to specific movies for my boys. They stopped working and now I cannot browse to the movie I want to add the programming back in. Any thoughts?
  3. Hi All, I am brand new to Control4. As a part of my Control4 system, I have two SmartCode 916 locks. Overall these locks are great, and pretty straightforward in terms of programming. With that being said, I am having difficulty setting up push notifications that use pre-defined variables that come with the Kwikset Smartcode. Here is the issue: Let's say I'm out of the house, and electrician needs to stop by to fix something. I use the control4 app to create a new user code with restricted access, so he can get into the house. I would like to know when the electrician uses the code to enter the house, so I need to setup a new push notification in Composer HE. I know how to do that, and it works without any problem. One issue, however, is that if I am out of the house, accessing Composer certainly isn't easy to do, unless I have my computer with me and the time to login to Composer HE and create the notification. Additionally, let's say later that day, my friend is coming over. He arrives early at the house and I'm not there yet, so I create a new user code for him. Again, I want to be notified when he unlocks the door/goes inside the house. Once again, I would need to create a new push notification in Composer HE. This would be true even if I was able to create a push notification for the electrician earlier in the day (since that push notification was specific to him/his user code). Since I want to be notified anytime some one uses their user code to unlock the door, I would have to set up a new notification in Composer HE each and every time, which will be extremely annoying. Sure I could set up a push notification that tells me when the door is unlocked, but it won't tell me which user unlocked it, so that doesn't really do much good. Thus, in order to address this issue, the push notification needs to be set up with a "fill in the blank" of sorts. In other words, I want to create one push notification that triggers when the door is unlocked and send me a message that says "XYZ unlocked the front door," with XYZ being filled in each time with the name of the user that unlocked the door (essentially the same process as mail merge, if anyone is familiar with personalized e-mail campaigns). Anyway, I believe it is possible to do what I want using variables, but am having difficulty getting it to work properly, and would truly appreciate some help. Here is what I am doing. I set up a push notification that says the following: "${Front Door::Garage Man Door Lock::USERNAME} Unlocked The Garage Service Door." See the attachment/screen shot. I obtained/inserted the variable above from the "add variable" button on the bottom left hand corner of the push notifications category in the Agents tab. When the door is unlocked by the electrician, I do receive a notification, but it says "unlocked the garage man door." In other words, the username/nothing is inserted into the spot where the variable is in the push notification. Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Just to be clear, each of the user codes does have a name associated with it, so it's not like the specific user code being entered into the door lock doesn't have a username. I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work properly, so I am truly stumped. I would truly appreciate any help I can get with this matter. On a side note, I noticed that if I put the "${Front Door::Garage Man Door Lock::USERNAME} Unlocked The Garage Service Door." in the subject line of the push notification, rather than in the body, the variable/code (but not the actual username) shows up in the push notification. In other words, the push notification says verbatim "${Front Door::Garage Man Door Lock::USERNAME} Unlocked The Garage Service Door." I'm not sure why this happens. Honestly, if at all possible, I would like to remove the subject line from the push notification all together, because I personally find it pointless in a push notification. Is there any way to remove it from the template? Thanks! Steven
  4. Hello, I have just installed parallels and windows 10 on my mac. I have now downloaded composer HE which I have a subscription that expires in 2017 . If the name and address on the remote director doesn't populate after refreshing and also trying to "add" a new one- what can I do? Thanks,
  5. Hello All, Hope you can help with helping me with steps to get composer HE running on Mac. I have been using windows for years, never used a mac- but my PCs never last for more than 18 months. Now, I have decided to try the Mac route to see if I'll have better luck. I just found out that I can't easily download composer HE on my mac! I have read that people use parrallels, fusion, bootcamp- I don't even know what these are. Would someone be kind enough to provide steps or a link that will show me: 1) how to install one of these on my mac 2) how to get composer HE on my mac when 1) is completed. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks,
  6. Hi, I would like to know how to create a driver. I have purchased the Composer HE. Is that enough? or is it only possible with the PRO version? I know how to program, I just don't know where to start creating drivers. hehe Thanks! Antonio
  7. Hello all, Good morning all. I hope someone can advice on the following. My kwikset locks (2 of them) are no longer responding to composer HE password changes or lock/unlock commands from composer HE or even from control4 app on my phone. I am still getting emails alerts when the doors are locked and unlocked. I also get random alerts that are not accurate showing the doors were locked or unlocked when infact no such action took place. I have an HC-300 and an HC-200 and a dealer told me it's no longer possible to upgrade the software these equipment. I am on composer HE 2.5.2 Does anyone know what I could do so that these locks continue to be controlled by composer HE and the app. My 4sight license is still current. Looking forward to knowing your thoughts on this or if you think the issues can't be resolved. Thanks.

  9. I am new to Control4 programming, and have Composer HE - and am looking for some basic advice. I have been able to change behavior when I turn a room off, but I can't figure out how to change a room's behavior when I turn the room on. If I turn the room on by selecting the Watch on the Navigator and choose - for example - Roku, there is a long delay until it selects the inputs on the TV. What is the device event that gets triggered when I select a Watch input, and how to do I change the delay before various things get changed on the devices?
  10. My kids were playing with my mouse while Composer HE 2.5.3 was loaded and moved all kinds of stuff around on my project. Tried to do a clear project/restore from my backup, and I get this error (screenshot attached)... Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Control4\ComposerHE253\Director\mm.db.c4'. Composer HE 2.5.3 will not restore my project as a result. Any ideas?
  11. Hi, I'm having a strange issues after installing composer on my laptop. Installation goes fine, and I can connect to my director, but I can't do anything. The side panel usually on the left is stretched across my entire screen, and I cannot click on any of the devices. I've tried compatibility mode, different display settings, but this only made it worse. The connection popup is all distorted, but I can still connect, but I get the side panel stretched across anyway. I've even tried different versions of Composer, but nothing changes. Laptop is a Dell XPS 12, Windows 8.1 Pro, 1920 x 1080 resolution. Thanks.
  12. I have been running the XP version of Composer HE under a Window emulation program on a Mac (VMware Fusion.) Works okay but is slow to load and is a mess to use.) If I upgrade to a higher version of Windows (say 8 or 8.1 under the emulator) will Composer HE still work? I couldn't find any mention of what version of windows is required to run Composer and being a Mac guy I don't know if more recent versions of windows run older XP programs. Would LOVE a Mac version of Composer HE. There are many, many people out there with Macs.
