  1. Hi As a part of our reno we are going to retrofit a zoning system for the main level and upstairs. We have a 5 tonne unit for central heating and A/C. We will use either tekmar thermostats or the C4 aprilaire stats as they both integrate with c4 without a cloud based solution. We want to avoid wall acne (each bedroom will have a TS already) so we will homerun flush mounted wall temp sensors to the HVAC control panel and have all thermostats in the furnace room. Main level - 4 zones - mudroom/laundry (also has additional nuheat infloor heating); living/dining/music/powder room - all o
  2. Chowmain - IntesisBox HVAC integration driver Most HVAC installations in the United States are easy as most thermostats utilise a universal standard and as such can be replaced easily by a 3rd party thermostat such as Control4’s thermostat. Unfortunately alot of HVAC manufacturers do not utilise this standard and have proprietary closed communications that are specific to that HVAC manufacturer. This makes it extremely cumbersome for Control4 dealers to source a reliable HVAC product and in many countries Control4 dealers do not even bother with HVAC integration because it is just
  3. Hi, I recall there being an iComfort driver from HouseLogix, but can't find it over at driverCentral. Does the Lennox iComfort Driver still exist? It's for an M30 model. Thank you in advance for your help.
  4. Chowmain - Daikin Wifi Split System Driver for Control4 HVAC Split System integration has always been painful. As these systems are traditionally IR based dealers usually either integrate presets or learn every single code combination in. This makes it extremely cumbersome for Control4 dealers to source a reliable HVAC product and in many countries Control4 dealers do not even bother with HVAC integration because it is just too hard. Luckily Daikin has released its BRP072A42 Wifi module for their Daikin Split HVAC units. This is an extremely cost effective making 2 way integration

  6. Hey, I have a whole house Heatmiser Neo system working on T3 touchpanels across a house. On the top floor, they have one Stat controlling 3 rooms and the hallways, with a radiator in each room. My client has decided to try and separate the the stats in each room, so they can work to different temps. My initial thought is to bypass the controller for the floor and have a wifi radiator valve in each room, like the ones from Hive and Honeywell. Anyone used something like this with control4? Doesn't need to be heatmiser, as the T3 interface will unite them anyway. I c

  9. Chowmain - Daikin Airbase driver In many countries outside of the US HVAC integration has been hard because HVAC companies do not utilise the honeywell based wiring that most smart thermostats like Nest, Control4 and Honeywell use. In order to integrate HVAC you had to install commercial grade HVAC solutions and get additional modules. There was no definitive and easy way to know if a HVAC solution was going to work without consulting a HVAC installer. To put it simple it was just too hard and too expensive to integrate HVAC. Now with the Daikin Airbase module installers can n
  10. I am a new installer of control4 products and I was wondering, does anyone have a product with a driver that can eliminate physical thermostats and use something like an I/O board to monitor temperature in multiple zones with multiple outputs.

  12. What is the main difference between in HVAC mode and HVAC state for programming purposes, in my idea I think HVAC state should be just checking whether the HVAC is on or off while the HVAC mode simply says if it is in HEAT, COOL or AUTO mode. But in programming when I would like to active a heating pump connected to one of my modules it only activates if I have a conditional set in the HVAC mode parameter and not in HVAC state for whether it is on or off to turn on and off the heating pump. I have below couple of screenshots that can be clarifying upon my question as in the HVAC mode
  13. Chowmain - Generic Thermostat Driver (IR) Split infrared controlled HVAC systems are quite common in Australia and New Zealand. The issue with these systems is that control is only one way, without any feedback what so ever. Furthermore each IR string contains code information about the mode, fan speed and set point within in. Given this you must learn every single combination of IR code to get full integration into your home automation system. The Chowmain Generic IR Thermostat driver enables us to integrate infrared controlled HVAC systems into the Control4 system with feedback from a dr

  15. I know that Control4 wireless thermostat is able to control the thermostats which have 5 wires but I have seen some thermostats such as from Fuji which have only 3 wires and some in the case of LG have 2 wires. Is there a way to control these thermostats from the same wireless control4 thermostat or some other way?
  16. Hi guys, I'm pretty new to all this (only completed the C4 course last week!), but I am trying to find a driver that will control my Tado Smart Thermostat. Google searches haven't given me much to go on and although I'd like the challenge of writing an IP driver somehow I think that learning Lua isn't something I'll pick up overnight. Hopefully someone here can help - thanks in advance Luke
  17. Hi guys, HVAC integration in Australia/New Zealand (and other parts of the world that do not utilise the honeywell standard of wiring) has been extremely painful. Over the past 10 years i have been looking for a solution to the problem to make it easier. HVAC integration is so hard that the majority of dealers in Australia and New Zealand do not do HVAC integration at all and the ones that do may do one or two systems a year maximum. Introducing the Daikin SkyFi. This module will enable wifi control over the Daikin Ducted, Cassette and certain VRV (with the P1 and P2 terminals) sy

Chowmain - Daikin SkyFi (Ducted & Cassette HVAC) Driver HVAC installation in the United States is easy as thermostats all utilise a universal standard and as such can be replaced easily by a 3rd party thermostat such as Control4’s thermostat. Unfortunately HVAC manufacturers outside of the United States do not always utilise this standard and some countries like Australia and New Zealand have proprietary RS485 based bus’s that are specific to the HVAC manufacturer and model. 19. Hi there! Does anyone know where can I find Hitachi's DC Inverter HVAC (AC system) infrared remote codes? Couldn't find drivers and capturing codes from the remote is not working either. The in-wall devices makes a beep noise when receiving commands from the remote, but it seems dead once I emit the codes from HC-800. Does anyone has anything to share about HVAC integration?

  22. Traditionally the control of split system or IR controlled air conditioning has been a complex and time consuming load on the integrator. The need to learn endless commands of IR codes and then the task of mapping and programming a driver for that single air conditioner. And often the project may include a number of different air conditioner models and manufacturers that required the learning and mapping for every air conditioner on the project...it could take days to get it working. I have spoken to integrators that gave up on projects that included split system air conditioners because it j

  25. Can't seem to figure out a causation or solution for this; would appreciate any insight or ideas. I have two identical HVAC systems in the house, each tied to a C4 Thermostat. Everything works great except every now and then (a pattern I can't discern) I get the following: * While HVAC is off * And temperature is already at the set point (or within the delta) * Fan turns on for about 3-7 seconds, then shuts off This happens on either HVAC system, making me think this is a software issue, rather than hardware. Anyone else experience this or have any recommendations? Thanks! Dan
