  1. I'm trying to create an IR Driver for a Samsung TV. However, the remotes power toggle button is the only command that will be read by the controller. When i press the other buttons, the controller is not accepting the IR commands sent by the remote. Remote buttons are fine as it works directly with the TV. I have also attached an image of the remote. What should be done in order to assign the IR commands of other buttons of the remote to the controller? https://www.dropbox.com/s/1o7o7p3b06tkvvm/Photo 7-18-19%2C 3 52 13 PM.jpg?dl=0
  2. Just wanted to share a driver i just created. Literally 4 days in to learning Control4 (so the functions are limited to just volume and power if you want to me update more codes just hmu) and couldnt find many answers on a 55' TCL Roku TV i own. Now i know most Roku IR tvs share the same command commands such as volume and power so thats all i included within the driver. I control my Roku flawlessly with the IP driver and Swap to my "LivingRoom Power/Volume" on the remote to change volume and power on and off tv and set the . .. and ... button to my liking (ex. .=power ..=volume down ...=volume up). If you have any questions or pointers how combine the Roku IP driver and the driver i just made feel free to reach out to me like i said i am new to C4 so i am learning new things everyday. tv_TCL_ROKU TV IR2.c4i
  3. Hello All, first time poster but you all seem very helpful. I am trying to send HDMI from a matrix into another room via a NEET HDMI sending kit over Cat6. That part works fine, the problem I am having is getting the IR to the room. The HDMI kit has a bi directional IR built into it (one 'line' each way if you will) and I go from the IR outputs on the HC800, into the transmitter and then out again with a bud from the receiver but the problem I'm having is that the light on the bud is permanently on. Not flashing but permanently on and I cannot get it to send any signals across. I can't definitely say why this is, but I wonder if its a problem with stereo/mono cables. The kit came with its own set which operate of stereo, however the C4 buds are of course mono. Am I misunderstanding the stereo/mono setup here? Does anyone have any idea what the cause of this might be? Might I add, the kit works fine when not connected to c4. Thanks so much,
  4. Chowmain - Generic Lighting Driver (IR) Control4 allows for you to easily integrate infra red based audio/visual devices but it does not give you the ability to integrate infra red based lighting devices. This is where the Chowmain generic lighting driver comes in. With customizable properties where you can enter in IR HEX codes you can now integrate infra red based lighting devices into Control4 with the correct icon. Features Definable On/Off Hex IR codes in properties * Easy to manage * Can have multiple copies of the same driver with different IR codes IR Binding * You can bind it to any infra red output in your Control4 system. On/Off/Toggle functions * With notifications to the proxy means that the client will know when the light is on/off (note that as it is IR based/without feedback it is assumed On/Off) Frequently Asked Questions Can you give us some examples of how we could use this driver? This driver is useful for integrating IR based lighting devices into Control4. This includes the Lutron based IR lighting devices, Dynalite IR lighting devices and more. Are there any other cool things we can do with this driver? Since the driver has definable properties you can have multiple drivers connected to the same IR port. This includes the IR blaster on supported controllers. This means that you can control any amount of IR based lights on a singular IR port (upto the limitations of the port). What hardware will this work on? This driver will work on any IR controllable light through any IR output compatible with Control4. How do I find out more information about the driver? Please see the links below for more information about the driver. Download Product Information Sheet Download Installation Guide How do I buy the driver? This driver is developed by Chowmain software & apps and is distributed and supported by Houselogix, Inc. Download Driver / Purchase Licence Who do i contact for technical support? This driver is developed by Chowmain software & apps and is distributed and supported by Houselogix, Inc. Support Do you provide trial licences? All Chowmain drivers for Control4 come with a 48 hour trial. This is activated once you add the driver to the project. No additional steps are necessary.
  5. Using a JBL sound bar, the volume steps are too large. The IR volumes signals last too long and as a result causes the volume steps to be big. How do I resolve?
  6. Does anyone know if any of the AVR etc. drivers for Denon works with Denon RCD-N8?
  7. I have a strange issue going on. My HC800 runs as my director and I cannot get any IR/ data (Napster,Spotify) to work correctly. So here is what I have noticed. 1. If I reboot the HC-800 I get NO link light on REBOOT 2. If I run the command killall -9 ioserver the LINK lights comes on immedietly and everythiung will work, except DATA portion such as napster, tunein, spotify, etc. 3. If I run inspector from putty I see this [ FAILED ] verify the MD5 checksums for files owned by package ioserver :: test_package_checksum_ioserver() DNS,IP, HE connections are all working fine so network is good Has anyone else scene or expierenced this type of issue?
  8. Chowmain - Generic Thermostat Driver (IR) Split infrared controlled HVAC systems are quite common in Australia and New Zealand. The issue with these systems is that control is only one way, without any feedback what so ever. Furthermore each IR string contains code information about the mode, fan speed and set point within in. Given this you must learn every single combination of IR code to get full integration into your home automation system. The Chowmain Generic IR Thermostat driver enables us to integrate infrared controlled HVAC systems into the Control4 system with feedback from a dry contact (to sense if it is on/off) and temperature input from the Control4 Thermostat, Axxess Motion Sensors, Card Access Contact Sensor or Relays. This provides a total solution for what would be a one way system. Note this driver is only compatible with HVAC systems that utilize Celsius. The two options we recommend for installation are as follows: * Option A: 'Retrofit' via a card access Zigbee 2 IR device * Option B: 'New Construction' via hard wired connection from a Control4 Controller or IO Extender. In both cases installation is recommended on the interior of the heat pump chassis to ensure a clean look. However if this voids the manufactures warranty a tidy exterior installation can easily be done. Features * Inbuilt Web server for control, setup and backup or IR codes. * Ability to test IR codes via the Web setup page. * Heat, Cool & Auto HVAC modes supported. * Low, Medium, High & Auto Fan modes supported. * 16 – 30 degrees of Set Point supported. * Temperature Feedback from Axxess Motion Sensor, Control4 Thermostat, Card Access Contact Sensor or Card Access Contact Relay. * Power State Feedback via dry contact input. Frequently Asked Questions Can you give us some examples of how we could use this driver? * This driver is extremely useful for countries where IR based HVAC solutions are common. By combining it with 3rd party temperature inputs you get a fully integration IR HVAC solution within Control4. Are there any other cool things we can do with this driver? * This driver supports an optional contact input. This is useful for when the consumer utilises the existing IR remote control for feedback. It will set the mode to off when the unit shutter closes and to auto at the last setpoint when the unit shutter opens. * This driver has an inbuilt webserver for setup and control. If the client is on their PC they can control their HVAC system by just visiting the URL specified in the properties page of the driver. What hardware will this work on? This will work on all IR based HVAC systems. Note that a 3rd party IR learner is required to learn the codes. Temperature input is compatible with the Control4 Thermostat, Axxess Motion Sensor, Card Access Contact and Card Access Relay. Where do i find IR backup files for existing systems? You can download IR backup files from our website. How do I find out more information about the driver? Please see the links below for more information about the driver. Download Product Information Sheet Download Installation Guide How do I buy the driver? This driver is developed by Chowmain software & apps and is distributed and supported by Houselogix, Inc. 9. Upgrading from an old HC300 to a New EA3 and looking to re-add my GE Concord 4 alarm system. I've got the IR 3.5 mm to Serial rs232 cable, but cannot seem to bind it to the Interlogix (GE) driver. Anyone know how to direct what looks to be IR port 2 to be a Serial output? thank you.
  10. On a Samsung UN24H4500, the only driver is for both IR and Serial. Allegedly, the driver will operate on either serial or IR depending on how it's bound. The driver works with the exception of the Smart Hub. When the command is executed, the TV will not respond. It works fine with the factory remote. I tried to edit the driver but the "edit driver" button is greyed out. Looked for an IR only driver with n luck. Any suggestions?

  12. So here's one that has my local dealer stumped. I've had a C4 system since the first Media Controller, then HC-250. It happily controlled my HT including a Stewart Screen triggered by IR. The IR driver was created back in 2008 from HEX codes supplied by Stewart for their Somfy motor IR receiver. I recently upgraded to EA-5 running 2.8.2. Since then screen control doesn't work. We've double & triple checked all connections, same driver as before, HEX codes still match Stewart. We tried learning codes from the Somfy remote, but that didn't work. Tried creating a new driver to no avail. Another data point - as part of debugging the dealer brought his RTI IR PRO to capture codes into a laptop. We wanted to see what EA-5 was actually emitting. Surprisingly, we could not capture anything being emitted by C4, even though the IR flasher we used was flashing. Capturing remote codes by the RTI from the actual remote worked fine. Dealer doesn't know what to do. Any ideas? Any known issues with EA-5 IR? Thx, Max
  13. Can Control4 convert an existing IR code file from my current Elan Via Tools IR files?
  14. Hey All! I have decided to move my HC250 to the main rack and need to connect the IR through a balun. (www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15777) What type of cable should I use to connect the IR output from the controller to the balun? I tried a regular 3.5mm stereo cable and it is not working properly. Any advice is much appreciated!
  15. Background: I have an HC-250 and am planning to do some of my own AV rack customization. I need to distribute IR from a TV location to various IR controlled devices in my AV rack (including Roku, Apple TV, HDMI matrix, etc.) Question: Can the HC-250 act as a IR repeater like this product? BAFX Products IR Repeater - Remote control extender Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009ZGK6QS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_ehwZxbB5DRHH0 So - take an IR signal in via a 3.5mm input and distribute it out to multiple 3.5mm outputs or does the HC-250 only issue IR commands from programmed functions (no pass through)?
  16. Installed a 4th TV/Binary ethernet, etc on an HC250 with Binary 4X4. Whenever we turn on the "Library TV" it turns on BOTH the "2nd Master TV" and the "Library TV". And vice versa. Watch - xxx turns on both the "2nd Master TV" and "Library TV" and controls work for both. So volume, etc controls both at the same time. Both are Samsung TVs but different models. It looks like an IR problem. As I can see the lights kick on for both when controlling either. Physically things look alright with the 4 ethernet cables going to the right place. Just can't figure out why this isn't quite working! Any ideas? (note: I did try switching both to different IROUTs and the device that was moved wouldn't turn on...but if I tried the other one it would turn both on.)
  17. Hello everyone. We need this Thermostat IR Driver for Daikin Split AC (Remote Model - ARC470A26). Can someone please help out?
  18. Hey all, Im having a weird issue with this box. This is the first -A we've gotten in this area, up until now they were all the Xg1-P, according to Comcast, there is no difference in IR codes, but none of the existing drivers are working, even when I build a driver, the codes are hit and miss when controlling the box. Anyone run into any issues with this box? Do i just have a box with a crap IR receiver. Any help would be much appreciated!
  19. Hi there! Does anyone know where can I find Hitachi's DC Inverter HVAC (AC system) infrared remote codes? Couldn't find drivers and capturing codes from the remote is not working either. The in-wall devices makes a beep noise when receiving commands from the remote, but it seems dead once I emit the codes from HC-800. Does anyone has anything to share about HVAC integration?
  20. Hi guys, I tried to control my blinds using relays, but the lack of control got me frustrated (up/down is not enough, I need to be able to stop my blinds anywhere). So, I decided to change my relays to IR, in order to have more control over blind movement. Question is: Can I buy any generic IR receptor, or is there a recommended one? Some friends of mine had problems using chinese parts, I don't want to get there too.
  21. Hi Guys, Merry Christmas to all! We are looking for an IR driver/codes for Mitsubishi Heavy Duty Split AC (Model No. SRK19CR-S6 or SRK24CR-S6). Any help would me much appreciated. Thanks. Regards, Mohit D Sigmac, India

  24. Hello, I noticed the IR in on my FioS Quantum DVR. I'm not aware there are IP drivers availble for this (and I don't want to have to swap my gear out for Tivo) but would a simple 3.5mm plug connecting the IR in on the Quantum DVR box to the HC-800 IR ports work? Can anyone else confirm this working well in their set up ? Unless of course there is an IP driver and I'm all ears? Myron
  25. Hi there, I am a new user of the forum and relatively new to Control4. I live in Medicine Hat Alberta and the Control4 dealer shut down his shop so there is no tech or installer near us. We just switched our cable provider to the new Telus Optik system and now I need to learn my remote control to be able to communicate with the Optik receiver. It worked seemlessly with Shaw. Am I able to do this myself? any advice or previous posts on this topic would be appreciated. regards, Tim Davis
