  1. Chowmain - TP-Link Wifi Smart Home Driver Suite Chowmain has integrated the range of TP-Link Wifi based Smart Home products into Control4 with two way control and feedback. This provides easy to retrofit solutions for outlet/power strip control, inwall switch control, Inwall dimmer control and also LED bulb control. The hardware is extremely affordable with outlets starting at $24.99 MSRP, bulbs at $19.99 MSRP, light switches at $39.99 MSRP and power strips at $79.99 MSRP. It definately adds value to any Control4 installation. Smart Plugs / Power Strips Control4 supplies the wireless outlet switch that makes any household plug-in device, like lamps, appliances and electronics part of the Control4 system by turning a standard outlet into a smart outlet. Unfortunately this device is not available to the majority of the world as it only supports 120VAC voltage for US plug type devices. Introducing the tp-link HSXXX series of Wi-Fi smart plugs. It has plug types and regulatory compliance for the majority of the world and is extremely affordable. This WiFi based power outlet supports up to 10amps and can be easily integrated into the Control4 home automation system using the Chowmain TP-Link HSXXX driver. The HS110 & HS300 versions can be utilised for energy monitoring and management using our driver and Control4. It can also be useful for device health monitoring and also for automatic selection of manually controlled AV devices like Playstation 4’s, Xbox One’s and the Nintendo Switch. This driver will work for the following devices. Bulbs LB100 LB110 LB120 LB130 LB200 LB230 Smart Plugs / Power Strips HS100 HS103 HS105 HS107 HS110 HS300 KP200 In-wall Wall Switches, Dimmers & Outlets HS200 HS220 KP200 It may also work with other models of the TP-Link smart home products but they are untested. Can you give us some examples of how we could use this driver? In Australia we do not have access to the Control4 outlet switch. As such we cannot easily integrate floor lamps, bedside table lights, fans, electric heaters, towel rails, etc easily. This driver fills in the gap to integrate these devices into the Control4 system. This driver allows connection to the Control4 outlet light driver and any relay based binding. As such you can get the correct icon on your navigator and also bind it to your AV device to minimise standby power. This driver can also detect power usage statistics from the HS110 outlet. This can be useful for programming energy management based actions. This driver allows connection to any Control4 keypad for ease of use programming. On HS110/HS300 outlets you can turn on your Xbox One, Playstation 4 or Nintendo Switch using their controller and have Control4 automatically turn on the system to the right inputs. Turn off the console using the console's controller or power button and have Control4 automatically turn the room off. The KP200 device offers two in-wall outlets which is used to replace existing outlets rather than plugging in a smart plug. The KP400 device is an IP64 rated outdoor smart plug with two outlets. It is air tight and rain proof. How do I find out more information about the driver? Please see the links below for more information about the driver. Until Control4 release a proper Color Wheel Proxy, we had to use the Camera Proxy to bring this feature to Control4 Navigator. Ok, but why not using Web View? Because Web View, although very powerful, work only on T3 touchscreens... And if you have the same kind of customers as we have, they are IN LOVE with their phone so it NEED to work on their phone. If it does not work on phones, it does not work at all. This solution work either on T3 and on any mobile device via the Control4 App. BTW There is another comparable T3-Only WebView driver available right now. Can we trigger the Color Wheel interface without going to the Security section? Yes, on T3 you can use the Color Wheel UI button provided with this driver. You can place this UI button in any section of Navigator (except Lighting ) and you will then be able to trigger the Color Wheel interface using the Navigation Agent and simple Composer programming What kind of light device is compatible with this driver? Almost any lighting driver that work on Control4 will work with this driver, it can be a Control4 wall Dimmer, the Enttec DMX Dimmers, or any third party solution that control RGB light in Control4.

  7. We have some LED light strips next to the stairs, leading up to the second floor. I want to add them to my C4 system. According to the C4 installer, the current controller is not compatible with C4 ( I think it's American lighting), so he suggested to put in a DMX controller. Those things are not cheap, and I wonder if it's worth spending $800 for the dmx controller. He also mentioned I need a rs232-ethernet and led zone controller. Not sure why those are needed since the current LED controller is already in the media closet, close to the C4. Is this the best option or are there other solutions. I do plan to add more light strips in the near future.
  8. How do I change the brightness of the light switch LED in composer?
  9. Like all kickstarter campaigns, looks great in the video, promises the world, gained my interest immediately, and then I take it all in with a bowl of salt. https://www.ithings4.com/#
  10. Hi I am using a zigbee keypad, and trying to get an LED on a button to indicate a room's audio state - on/off. I've tried using POWER_STATE in room variables and change the LED when the room powers down. But I can't get the LED to hold the status of the room. It changes when the room changes, but then goes to "off colour". Is there a method that I am missing?
  11. Hi, I'd really appreciate some advise from all your Control4 experts here. I'm new to this and have had Control4 installed in my new house, V2.9.1. We have lots of coloured LED strips in the house and they have Lumento KNX driver modules. The KNX network is connected through a gateway to the Control4. In the control 4 an LED strip is represented as 3 separate lights - a red, green and blue, each of which can be set to a percentage. These each map to a unique KNX address. There is additionally an RGB address that can be used to brighten all 3 LEDs proportionally and the Control4 shows this device too as a slider. This is fine and all works however what I'd really like is an interface on the Control4 that gives me a colour wheel and/or favourite/recent colour selectors. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? My dealer is happy to install any extra drivers necessary. Many thanks in advance for any advice.
  12. Can recommend any waterproof RGB LED strips for the outside of my house? I'm looking for something that will look OK next to white paint when the lights aren't switched on. It would also need to hook up with C4 somehow, so we can set it to come on for Christmas, Halloween, etc etc. Thanks in advance!
  13. I am currently writing a driver for the Light-O-Rama system to integrate into Control4. I found this lighting system is highly affordable very robust, although primarily done for Christmas light, it was pretty easy to expand it's application to a regular light control system for low-voltage LED or 120V lights in a house. This system can also grow and control a very large amount of lights by daisy-chaining modules. The driver is based on our popular Advanced DMX solution currently available at Houselogix. The Light-O-Rama solution will offer similar features but the initial cost will be chopped by half. In fact, this will become the cheapest alternative to panelized lighting for Control4 ever available. For $109, you get a robust lighting control board that can control up to 24 circuits of low-voltage light or 8 sections of RGB lights, that mean a cost of about 5$ per channel with full dimming and smooth fades. Don't get me wrong, the Light-O-Rama integration into Control4 is not meant to be used as a light show system, it just bring LOR as a house lighting control system for regular lights with some RGB effect just like DMX, but for less $$ The driver is almost done and a beta will be released soon, I would need some people who actually own an LOR system and will like to use it as a light controller for their home. I have only a single board to work with so I can't test other LOR module or multiples unit daisy chained. I would also like some feature request if someone has idea... The goal is to bring the cheapest lighting control solution ever to Control4, that would expand C4 market to smaller home and budget-tight project.
  14. So I have noticed as I put up holiday decorations some issues with LED lights and some Control4 products. I just hung some LED lit garland's that were bought at Costco. They are plugged into a C4 Wireless Outlet Dimmer. Since they are non-dimmable, I adjusted the ramp rate to simply on / off with no ramp up or ramp down. Problem is that even with the power completely off the bulbs are still lit. When you turn the power on they light up fully, but even with power off they are somewhat on. I have regular LED bulbs throughout my house and have not had any issues on actual light fixtures. Not sure if this is a Outlet Dimmer issue, or a LED light issue. Anyone else had a problem like this? Any suggestions on how to correct it so that when the power is off to the light the lights are actually off?
  15. I had a keypad dimmer working fine. We did a major remodel and the KD was uninstalled and re-installed. The new fixture is a candelabra with three bulbs. I bought LED's that are "dimmable with ELV dimmers". The keypad functions are working but the light will not turn off. Not sure if it is the LED's, the KD is broken, or there is a wiring problem. Advice? Scott
  16. Our popular DMX integration solution for LED and Low voltage is available since a year now and we've been asking lot of feature requests and enhancements. I'm starting this new thread to focus on the driver features and not general LED installation and cabling. Our latest version 1.5.4 if mostly build to fulfil all the feature requests we had to date. New in 1.5.4: - DMX Group Dimmer for Single Channel Light - You liked the previous RGB Group Dimmer, but a single channel version was lacking. This Group Dimmer present a single dimmer to control multiple DMX Channels (range or random), it is very useful to group the White Channels in an RGBW setup or in commercial project where there is many lights on different channel but in the same room. - The ColorChanger driver is improved. This driver present a single dimmer slider that change the color of a group of RGB lights, it now support non-adjacent RGB channel and prevent problem when there is a white channel present after RGB. Also some bug fixed. Any ColorChanger user should upgrade to this version. - DMX Switch, a simple (but missing) driver to control non-dimmable lights or relays - Improved Effect Switch with Ranged Color Loop that now support lights with more than 3 channels. Also new Brightness setting that allow to dim the color effect. - DMX Effect Brightness, a complement to the new Effect Switch that allow live brightness changes of a currently running effect. Presented as a regular dimmer slider, your customer will be able to dim of bright the effect that is played in the room. Can also bind to a keypad. - Hardware Scene Management, allow to create hardware scene that can be saved into the DMX Engine hardware. Scene can be recalled through programming or automatically on boot (useful as disaster recovery). This is NOT THE SAME as Control4's own Scene agent, our driver still fully support scene creation through the Advanced Lightning Agent. We would like to remind this solution is not only for RGB LED but also for any low-voltage lights or whole-house all-white LED control. Here is the link to the original thread about this driver: http://www.c4forums.com/topic/14946-a-good-rgb-led-control-solution-for-control4-is-there/ Download link on Houselogix: https://www.houselogix.com/shop/advanced-dmx (all required hardware can also be purchased on Houselogix) ETA for the new IP DMX Engine: Expected in Q1 2016. Hope you're still happy to use our DMX solution and don't hesitate to tell us about your project for help and advice, also all feature requests is always welcome. Enjoy.

  18. In Composer I executed "Set All LED Colors" to "Red" on one of my dimmer switches to see if it would work and what the color would look like. Now I can't get that switch to return to the factory setting of a single blue LED on the end of the switch selected. I removed the command to "Set All LED Colors" to "Red" and refreshed navigators. The switch is still has both LED lights red. Any Suggestions for C4 Idiot?
  19. You can use the latest release of our RGB LED Control solution to build nice color effects that can be triggered by music, check out the demo video: http://youtu.be/csieFCBaBco It's cheap and easy to do and require only Control4 hardware and the affordable ES DMX Interface. It's all explained in the documentation of the driver, check out this threat for more information or contact us at info@domaudeo.com http://www.c4forums.com/topic/14946-a-good-rgb-led-control-solution-for-control4-is-there/
  20. Hey THere. My company is very new to Control 4 and this is the first lighting install we have done. Of course "lucky us" we got a whole house of lighting. So we are installing the keypads, switches and dimmers and addressing them. While we were installing the plates, some of the LED's went totally blank. I can address them and they still work but no LED's I am sure this is a simple fix but who knows. Thanks nick
  21. Hello all, New user here and I had a quick question for all you advanced people out there: I have a button on my keypad dimmer in my master bedroom that turns off every light in my house (minus bedrooms) through advanced lighting in agents. My question is I am trying to program it so that that led light on that button is red if any light is actually on, and blue if the lights are off (regardless of where it was turned on from) I can't seem to get the programming to work. Any one able to help here? (Sorry if an answer was posted about this already, I searched and didn't find anything) Thanks in advance!
