  6. Chowmain -LIFX Wifi Lighting driver LIFX (pronounced Life-X) is a line of energy-efficient, multi-color, Wi-Fi enabled LED lighting products that can be controlled via a Wi-Fi equipped device such as a smartphone or smartwatch. The LIFX driver for Control4 allows for two way control and feedback of all LIFX products including bulbs, strips, beams, tiles and more. With our new Control4 OS 3.3 V3 driver, Chowmain's driver now uses local connections, supports ColorWheel and white temperature selector and includes our one-touch setup in agent. Features Direct Control using Network (V3 only. V2/V1 requires cloud) Two way control and feedback. Automatic Detection of Devices Brightness control Color Temperature control Color control One Touch Install and Configuration of lights (V3 only / OS3.3+ Required) ColorWheel Support (V2/V3 Driver Only / OS3.3+ required) Graphical White Temperature Selection (V2/V3 Driver Only / OS3.3+ Required) Infrared Light Brightness Control (V3 Driver Only / OS3.3+ Required) HEV disinfection support (V3 Driver Only / OS3.3+ Required) FAQ What is the difference between V3 and our V2 driver? As per popular request, V3 has been completely rewritten from the ground up, to support control via LAN instead of relying on LIFX's cloud servers. Faster performance. Latency of commands is reduced from seconds to milliseconds More reliable communication with the ability to resend unacknowledged commands Infrared light brightness support via command (compatible hardware required) HEV disinfection support to kill bacteria and sanitise surfaces (compatible hardware required) Modern Diagnostics / Troubleshooting infrastructure Significantly faster deployment. New AutoSetup system will automatically install drivers for devices, and Personal Access Token is no longer required. Similar to V2, V3 also supports the new ColorWheel and white temperature selector (requires OS 3.3 or later) Please note: Because of the breadth of the LIFX changes, LIFX V3 is not compatible with LIFX V2/V1, and it is strongly recommended to replace all old drivers Due to deficiencies in the LIFX Group LAN/UDP protocol, native LIFX groups are not supported. Advanced Lighting scenes may be used as an alternative (and native C4 scenes are expected to be implemented in the future) What is the difference between the V2 driver and the depreciated group and light drivers LIFX V2 Driver requires OS3.3+ to operate correctly and is recommended for both current and future installations Native ColorWheel Support Native Color Tempearature Support Improved Color Scene support Support for both LIFX Groups and individual LIFX Lights. Separate drivers are no longer required. Why is this better than other RGB solutions? This is an extremely affordable solution which does not require an additional hub to operate. We have control over color, saturation, temperature, brightness. Two way control / feedback. If the customer uses the original application Control4 gets the changes Where can I purchase this product from? 9. Overview Chowmain Light Group allows lights by any manufacturer (including OS3.3 ColorWheel lighting) to be grouped together and operated simultaneously from a single light driver, instead of requiring ALS scenes. This is beneficial as an example for systems where multiple lightstrips are used for a certain area and need to be the same color at all times, or for easier room lighting control. This driver does not rely on driver Load Group support and supports both Pre-OS3.3 lightv2 lighting, and OS3.3 lightv2 lighting with ColorWheel. The original (and mostly unused) light (v1) proxies are NOT supported OS 3.3.2 or later is required to use this driver Driver Features Enables the grouping of lights into a single light Advanced Lighting Scene Support Brand Agnostic. Zone Features On Off Dimming Color Color Temperature Scene Features On Off Flag Features On Off FAQ How much does this driver cost? This driver is manufacturer sponsored and is provided free of charge. Where i can i learn more about RAPIX? Please visit the Ozuno website for more information about the RAPIX lighting system. What hardware will this work on? The driver will work on Control4 OS 3.3.0 or higher and will work with RAPIX Zone Controllers. We recommend updating RAPIX to the latest version of firmware to ensure compatibility. Note it will not work with RAPIX eHub hardware due to the API we are using. What can I use flags for? Flags are on/off based variables used in RAPIX. This can be manipulated within Control4 to trigger RAPIX programming. It can also be used with RAPIX triggering Control4 programming. This is useful for when for example you want the flag change (eg button press) to trigger Control4 programming (eg all off macro). The driver will not connect even though the IP address entered is correct. The Control4 Director must be on a static IP Address and listed in the Unencrypted Connections list in the RAPIX project. See enabling third party control section of this document. The capability of the DALI load is incorrect. The driver will obtain the capabilities of the zone. Unfortunately not all Dali loads can be automatically detected due to non compliance to standards by certain manufacturers. As such if the capabilities are not detected then you can override the capabiltiies in the zone driver’s properties page. How do I find out more information about the driver? You can find out more about Orro via their website. https://getorro.com/ I have added additional Orro devices. You can manually import additional devices by clicking on Import Lighting under the driver’s Actions tab. How does Orro Presence and the associated Control4 Motion Sensor work? Orro Presence is determined using a combination of motion sensor data, audio data, algorithms, and settings values. Typically, lights will turn on automatically when Presence is detected and turn off when Presence is lost. Presence behavior is adjustable via Orro settings at both the Room and Switch levels. Orro Presence is mapped to a Control4 Motion Sensor which is automatically installed and programmed with each Orro lighting device. Use this in your programming for room presence programming. How do events work? The Orro driver can programmatically execute Control4 Scripts through the Orro Driver’s Events functionality. This allows you to create Events and assign Events to be shown in particular Orro Rooms. Once Events are created, you can add programming actions to the Scripts for each of the Orro Driver’s events. This is automatically synced to Orro. Execute a script by tapping the Event shown on the Orro Switch Control4 Face. There is no limit on the number of events that you can display on any Orro Switch. You can customize which Events are shown per Orro Room. If there are multiple Orro Switches in an Orro Room, each Switch will display the same Control4 Events. Note you can also choose not to display any Control4 Events on an Orro Switch. Where can I find the Offline Access Token? The Orro Offline Access Token for Control4 can be found in the Orro Apps for Android / iOS. Once the Control4 Integration has been enabled via the Orro App under Home Automation > Control4 , the Offline Access Token will be displayed in the Orro App in the Control4 Manage view. Note the Offline Access Token is unique per Orro Home. How do I find out more information about the driver? Please see the links below for more information about the driver. Driver Link

  14. 4 of my lights keep turning on at random times on random days. It been happening for weeks now. Its in consistent. Sometimes they turn on once and other times they'll turn on 4 times or however many times I turn them. Its weird. Sometimes it happens at 9am, other times its 10pm and sometimes 1 am. it's the same 4 every time. I don't under stand why. They're not in the same room. Is there a way I can see what turned on the lights? I have Composer HE. I do not have a schedule for any of these lights.
  15. New to composer and I'm looking at some of my deal default scenes and I see that some loads that are dimmable are set to "Exclude" in "Hold Ramp/Fade". Why is that and how can I include them?
  16. I will keep this short - we are looking to add either C4 switches and dimmers or Lutron. I am resistant to have C4 handle everything as that places all eggs in one basket, but have also had more glitches with C4 in other areas making me more hesitant - all resolved, but don't really want to have glitches with core things like lighting - no matter how solid it is. The question I am trying to answer is does anyone have any experience with both and might have a recommendation? I would like C4 to handle the control either way, but the fact that it is Lutron hardware means that if we decide C4 should no longer be in our house, we are at least not replacing the lighting. So, from this standpoint, I am inclined to go Lutron RA3. If C4/SNAP cease to exist some day (not saying they will, but they may decide to discontinue service) if acquired by someone else, go under (its possible), or decide that farming is more profitable and become a crop company, my lights are still independent - I am clearly aware this is not likely, but banks, insurance companies and other companies many times their size do in fact discontinue service or go under - so just considering all outcomes. Requirements: Away button on keypad for when leaving house to turn lights off (not connected to Alarm system and wont be) - say with coming home. Ability to turn lights on or off in each room remotely via other keypads or C4 Occupancy sensors for bathrooms in the night Approximately 45 dimmers and 30 switches required. Looking for views to see if people who have experience with both see drawbacks to going the Lutron route. Really appreciate any feedback/guidance. Charlie - NYC Equipment - 2x EA5, CA1, Audio Matrix, 3x 8 zone amps, LUMA NVR, 3x Yamaha AVRs, Araknis network equipment (2x 24 POE switch, Router, 12 Switch), Pakedge PDU, APC, 3x tabletop C4 screens.

  19. G'day guy's, (finally) introducing my new Cloud-based C-Bus Powertools Driver for Control4 designed for Clipsal CBUS Lighting Systems. Clipsal CBUS is a Lighting system developed by Clipsal/Schneider Electric which is common particularly in Australia. This is a dropin for the Extra Vegetables drivers (or long term standalone driver) with Cloud functionality for remote access to the lighting system, and fast provisioning. This is currently a time limited prerelease!! We're still looking at distributors for the driver. As this is a pre-release, we recommend only using it for testing on production systems (Sniffing is probably safe to use, but our powertools auto-provision drivers will likely break). Download and more Info: https://cbuslink.com/ Why use it? Cloud Gateway. Access Application logging and test components of the CBUS system remotely. No port forwarding required. SSL encrypted Rapidly commission Clipsal C-BUS Lighting on Control (5mins vs 2 hours), with sniffing, imports, auto-renaming, and auto-provisioning of groups/applications Import XML Tags/cgl files quickly into the database. So, you can have a sparky commission the system, and just give the c4 the programming to import, which can be imported in seconds. No need to keep the sparky onsite. If you don't have the CBUS file, you don't need CBUS Toolkit. Just walk around the house pressing light buttons and look at the application log for ID's. Also perfect for when you miss a circuit in an existing extra veg system and can't get back onsite due to isolation Drop in with Extra vegetables. You can still (mostly) use the sniffing capabilities, and merge both systems safely (you'll miss some functionality however) What doesn't work Currently, you must must use an Extra vegetable driver and legacy mode with it. That's not a bad thing (it's safe to do, and allows mixed systems for testing)... Allows easy migration too This trial will break eventually because I'm making some major changes to the API. The final will be a stable api You can rename drivers in the Web, but changes to the drivers directly won't be relayed to the web.. You can still change them, but the database won't update correctly Other minor things Dimmer and lighting relay/On off drivers seems to work here, the rest of them are lessor tested No blind driver yet.. Still on the lookout for a module.. You can still intermix the extra veg blind driver in legacy mode anyway (just no auto-provisioning of that driver Contact me Details are on: https://cbuslink.com/ Also, still on the lookout for extra modules (such as blind). If you work with extra vegetables and still have the source code, please feel free to get in touch too (as this would allow me to upgrade the original drivers to support auto-provisioning, or at least I could provide the commands I require to do so) Demo Video
  20. Just a sneak preview of the new CBUS PowerTools Driver I'm developing (keep in mind, it's still in development, and certain parts of the architecture may change). It's designed for VERY fast commissioning of Clipsal CBUS Lighting Systems Features: VERY Fast commissioning of CBUS systems (5mins vs 2 hours for a standard CBUS System, with automatic group type detection). Managed drivers. YOU DON'T HAVE TO ENTER Group addresses, application addresses or even names of circuits. Less copy and paste = less mistakes Import from CBUS Toolkit (CGL / Tags XML) Built in Webserver to facilitate setup (this may change, and may be shifted to an online service, included with the driver, to be accessible online to installers, take load off the controllers, and allow better management ). I'm hoping to also support a few features missing from the standard drivers I'm hoping to complete the driver within the next month or so (however, it's dependent on access to hardware. I'm located in VIC Australia if anyone has any CBUS hardware they are hoping to sell cheap (even if it has faulty channels, that's ok for testing purposes) or can get me in touch with Clipsal for hardware. The plumbing is mostly done, and it's now simply a case of completing the comms between the gateway and Control4. If anyone has any feedback, it's also welcome.
  21. Hi all, Wanted to see if there was a possibility to receive HTTP commands to actually trigger an event in Control4 so I can trigger some lighting behaviors. Basically, I have a customer that is running a billiards bar and wants the lights to turn on every time a tab opens for that billiards table. And when they close the tab for that table, then the light turns off. Any thoughts behind how I can go about doing this? I think I can get HTTP commands from the POS system/server. Let me know what you all think would be a reliable solution for this set up.
  22. I'm using the EA-1 for control in my media room. I've got half-dozen recessed lights in the room. It would be nice to add some light control to my system. I was thinking the Philips Hue system seemed like a nice, relatively affordable smart lighting system. It looks like the Hue is compatible with Control4, correct? Are there any other systems I should be considering? Thanks!
  23. Hello all, I usually get cost through a local dealer in Ontario, Canada, but they've had to shut their doors due to COVID-19. Hoping to help dealer increase sales and we've budgeted for a little kickback too! Anybody willing to help an Installer in-a-pinch out before rough-in is completed? Thank you everyone!
  24. Ought to see a LOT more of this, shouldn't have to dig here or wait for a C4 blog to reference it: http://nycesensors.com/support/control4-lighting-examples/
  25. Hi, Is the CA-1 controller powerful enough to automate lighting of an entire house (two-three floors) with centralized lighting? (Lets say we have 30 individually controllable lighting loads)
