  1. The discovered tab of composer pro indicates that the driver for LILIN NVR3216 is available. But when i try to add it i get an error message saying that the driver is not available. Please refer to the attached image. Please can someone help?
  2. I have connected the HDMI output of EA-5 to a Denon Receiver. When I plug the HDMI output of Denon Receiver to the HDMI input of TV via HDBaseT, i cannot view the OSD. No signal is received. Randomly it starts working, but then it stops working if i unplug the cables and reconnect (Or even after reboot). It worked for two days without an issue and suddenly stopped working. What is the issue?
  3. I'm using the theater display switcher to switch between the TV and the projector. These two devices are connected to a Denon AVR along with AppleTV. When I switch to the TV I can navigate to AppleTV and it works. But when i switch to the projector and select AppleTV, the screen goes blank. Can someone tell me the reason ? AVR Model is X2500H.
  4. How can i use both tv and projector in the same room? Should I put them in two separate rooms as one room contains only one video end point? I have a Denon AVR-X2500H. The EA-5 controller's HDMI output is connected to the AVR's CBL HDMI input. AppleTV's HDMI output is connected to AVR's AUX2 HDMI input. The AVR has two HDMI outputs and one is connected to the TV and the other to the projector. Any possibility to control the TV and projector from the control4 remote? The AVR control4 driver has only one HDMI output even though the AVR has two HDMI outputs.
  5. Hello, New to C4 and the forums. Have many questions, but will try to condense to a few main basic ones. Advice appreciated. System install was part of new construction. EA-5, network switch, dimmers, camera pre wires, lots of structured hard wiring, garage etc. 1. Although I got an EA-5 "Entertainment Bundle", it only included the controller. No remote. Is it typical for the remote to be an add-on for a $3800 bundle of an EA-5 in your experience? 2. None of my sources were added to the system (Somfy MyLink for window shades, Apple TV, BluRay Disc, etc) and the reason I was given was that's only if I have it in multiple rooms...so I'd have to buy another EA-1 to do that? Can I add those devices? 3. Why would I need(or how would I exploit) the RG-6 and HDMI cables coupled with Cat6/5e in various rooms 4. The OS was just installed and is on 2.1. Is that the latest version?
  6. I am wondering a little about this setup. And how others have done thing. If it where a normal 4 zones without video I would have gone with a Control4 amplifier, which is simple. But since I need 2 of the zones being video (one in surround) I have thought of 2 setups. But not sure how this would play out in composer, or if even possible. And I guess others wonder about this or have done plenty of project with this task issue. Option 1: Using 2 receivers with 2 zones, where one is video. This means one can use quite cheap receivers. In my case I use a lot of Integra which has a good IP driver for Control4 as well. Problem here is that playing the same or different in all rooms is troublesome. As each receiver gets one source each from the EA3. And maybe if possible a HDMI splitter could split the signal from EA3 to both receivers at same time? Anyone know if this is even possible? Is there a driver that one can use to split a signal? Another problem would be if one wants to watch the same on both video zones, unless one change the splitter for a matrix instead. And have all source go trough that first. But a matrix is way more expensive than a splitter. Option 2: Using a bigger more expensive receiver that can handle 3 zones, where two zones is video. A receiver like this cost the same as two of the cheap ones and then some. Then for zone 4 I use a triad that is a source and also an amp which is a price that comes on top of that again. Plus here is that one have 4 source to play with. And I am pretty sure this is easier to set up as well.
  7. My home system has an old-school Control4 MP2 Media Player that connects to my file storage device, a WD My Cloud drive. This has worked for years. Now, I can't scan the drive for files any longer... in composer, I go to the Media tab, and I click on 'Network file storage'. Normally, I click on the 'scan' button, the default values are fine in the pop-up window, and the director starts scanning the WD drive in the folder I've set up and I can see it run via the text on the Windows footer at the bottom. Now, the scan just isn't running. I don't see that anything on it has changed. The file storage device still shows as 'online' on the system design tab. There are no bindings for it on the Connections tab. I still have the same directory structure on the WD drive, and I re-navigated to my file folder just to make sure that it sees it on the network. I have no problem with the WD drive on the network with my app and PC. I've now deleted my previously scanned file database so that it's blank and it still won't scan. I'm about 50% certain that I have added files to it after updating to 2.10 a while ago and it worked fine. Any suggestions?

  9. I'm planing to expand 10 (C4-LU1082D) video zones by adding new video matrix in the home system. Is there a way to connect (in composer) same sources, like dvd, blueray, appleTV, onto new video matrix. So all video zones can access same video sources and control them?

  12. hey guys, in my C4 integration project I am now at a point of integrating about 5000 videos into the system but I am not quite what is required. I have a 2TB drive full of videos in basic formats that I would like to be able to play on C4 Tvs. I have the drive scanned but don't see the videos yet. Am I missing something or is there a device that needs to bought to do this? As always guys. Thanks
  13. I'm looking into getting a new AVR. Wondering which brands integrate the best and provide 2 way feedback?
  14. OK, so lets start with my set-up: - Arris Shaw Portal MP2150 (X6) - Arris HDPVR MG5225G - Apple TV 2 (x4) - Control4 C4-AMP108 (X2) - Control4 C4-16ZAMSV3-B Audio Matrix Switch - Control4 C4-IOX-E-B IO Extender - AVlink HDMI Matrix Switcher – HX-2344 (theatre room I think) - Epson 6030 1080p 3D Projector (theatre room) - Marantz A/V Receiver (theatre room) - Raspberry Pi 3 – Rasplex (theatre room) I think that covers most of. The problem is that when I'm watching TV in any room (except the Theatre Room) the video feed keeps switching to Arris box 3, but the sound remains on the original channel. It doesn't matter if I'm using the Apple TV or Cable. It switches around 5 to 6 times in a 30 minute period. To remedy it, I go into the Control4 controller and switch back to my original feed. Any ideas?
  15. Hi there, I'm new to control4, one is being installed this week. We have a front gate that will electric when it's finished. I'm looking for options that will let us see who's at the gate, talk to them and open the gate for them. I'd like to be able to do this from my phone, since that's the device that we always have on our person. Can you folks suggest some options that will integrate nicely with the control4 please?
  16. I am looking for a good solution for video Distribution for my house. Can you guys recommend anythng that doesn't break the bank. Right not I have 2 TV's but in the end I will have 4-5 TV's and looking to have them all run HDMI. Thanks
  17. Hello, I'm just starting with Control4 and I'm experimenting with a set of devices. Everything seems to work fine with me except for the audio/video. My first question is, are there any comprehensive guidelines on how to setup the connections of AV devices both physically and in composer? Now diving into details, I have the following device that I'm trying to connect right now: HC250 Controller C4 speaker point + satellite speakers. Wireless music bridge 1080p mini HD media player. XBMC media center. I have been trying to connect them (together, one-by-one) but I'm confused on what should be connected to what. Do all media devices (3,4 and 5) have to be connected directly to the speaker point through RCA cables? in which case I will only be able to connect one of them at a time? or is there a solution for that? What should I connect to HC250 audio input? and how would that work? I have connected the wmb physically to the speaker point, and did the same virtually through composer. When I play something through wmb, it shows on the screen but the audio doesn't come up. Why? and how do I connect it in the right way? It seems to me that the XBMC can replace the mini HD media player in all functions. Is that correct? if not what is the advantage of the media player? why should I use it? Thank you in advance.
  18. Leaf Hdmi Matrix (LHDMI66) w/ 4 Control4 brand baluns and I also have one off brand balun, if you have a way to splice in an ir it will work. The control4 baluns are hdbaseT. All reasonable offers entertained.
  19. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/control4-brings-4k-ultra-hd-100000302.html HDCP 2.2 is mentioned, but nothing about HDR or other advanced features likely in Blu-ray UHD standards.
  20. I have a C4 system at my house and I asked my dealer to install some Roku systems on a couple of the TVs. I soon realized that the Rokus were connected directly to the TVs they sat near. This meant that the sound came from the TV speakers themselves and not the speakers set in the room that handle the normal sound from the TV. (The same is true for a BlueRay DVD player). Raising the volume on the TV is a terrible solution, and makes the entire act of watching Netflix or HBO go or whatever, a frustrating experience. So...I asked the dealer why the Rokus couldn't be connected to the Control4 sound system in the house, like the TVs themselves are! Here's the answer I got, but I don't understand it! "Your main switcher in the basement rack is a Neothings Borrego Component Video switch 8x4 which does not support HDMI at all. To get the Roku and Blu-Ray in the basement that device would have to be upgraded to an HDMI Matrix switch and put extenders to feed HDMI to the Televisions. Currently your video is all over component Video (outdated) Off of your project: Your DirecTv is using Component Video to the Component video matrix, out of the matrix component video to the living room TV input component video 1. You are not using HDMI in your house video distribution. Also looking at your Audio sources on the Amplifier side you are out of inputs on it. I know you are using Control4 as a system in whole, not to correct you but to educate. Control4 just tells the other systems what to do. (power on, power off, and switch inputs, lighting and sound distribution). When you say Control4 won't accept it would be incorrect. It is the other devices that will not accept it. An example would be your theater. It has a JVC projector, a Denon receiver a Samsung blu-ray and a Roku system. The Control4 system will tell the projector to turn on, tell the Denon receiver to turn on and go to the blu-ray input, then tell the blu-ray to turn on. If the control4 is not working all of those devices will work individually. But if say the Denon fails the Control4 will still turn on the projector, it will still turn on the blu-ray. All Control4 really does is tell the other devices what to do, and in your house it does the lighting and sound amplification as well. Hence in this case the Neothings Borrego video matrix switch is outdated and will only accept component video. Your house audio distribution system is Left and right analog stereo. " Could someone tell me what the hell this all means? I've been unable to get any more of an answer. And in the meantime, I'm frustrated by the awful sound quality playing out of the TV's built in speakers.
  21. Hey folks. This topic is similar to the AV receiver thread, but thought I would start a new one as my situation is a little more specific. I've got an HDMI matrix up and purring and would like to do something similar for audio, but need the help of the experts here. For example, I'd like to have one audio/video receiver in the rack with the capability of expanding both audio-only zones and audio/video zones. Most of my movie collection is in DTS-HD audio format so I'd like to be able to have that capability for all of the video sources (understanding I need to have speakers and such added to some rooms). I'd rather get away from having an AV receiver in each room where I want the audio decoded properly. Any suggestions or thoughts for consolidation and equipment adds here? Here is what I currently have in place: Rack RoomAtlona AT-PRO3HD66M HDMI Matrix (NOTE: Media room output is via both CAT6 to the Atlona receiver at the TV and HDMI out to the SC-68 for audio)Pioneer Elite SC-68 AV Receiver (only used for Media room audio)Pioneer Elite BDP-62FD Blu Ray (hooked into HDMI matrix)HC-800 (video out to HDMI matrix, only used for media room; audio out to SC-68)Apple TV (out to HDMI matrix)Dune HD Base 3D (out to HDMI Matrix)Synology VS240HD (out to HDMI Matrix)DirectTV Genie Server (out to HDMI Matrix, only used for media room)Sonos Connect (optical out to SC-68)Media RoomPioneer Elite PRO-141 Plasma Monitor (HDMI in via matrix)7.1 Martin Logan speaker set upLiving RoomPioneer Elite SC-27 AV ReceiverPanasonic WT50 LED TVHC-250 (HDMI out direct to TV; audio out to SC-27)Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD Blu Ray (HDMI out to SC-27)DirectTV Genie Client (HDMI Out to SC-27)Sonos Connect (optical audio out to SC-27)Atlona HDBase-T receiver from Matrix (HDMI out to SC-27)5.1 shitty speaker set upOfficeSony Google TV (yack)HC-250 (HDMI out to TV)DirectTV Genie Client (HDMI out to TV)Atlona HDBase-T receiver from Matrix (HDMI out to TV)Sonos Play 5Spare BedroomPanasonic (older) PlasmaHC-250 (HDMI out to TV)DirectTV Genie Client (HDMI out to TV)Atlona HDBase-T receiver from Matrix (HDMI out to TV)Master BedroomNothing except a Sonos Play 5, looking to add a 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system, monitor, and output from the HDMI matrixDining RoomNothing currently, looking to add speakers for an audio zoneGarageNothing currently, looking to add speakers for an audio zone
  22. I have LED lighting outside - Wallwashers they are called - they throw light 80 feet and can do 1.3 million colors. I also have rope light around the eaves of my house and turret so that I can have any colors that I like any time of the year. I recently upgraded to the "GENIE" by Direct TV, and now when my outside LED lights are on (It is limited to these lights and none of my other outside lights) I have a very annoying flicker on the televisions. If I turn off the LED lights it goes away. I am pretty sure that everything is still plugged in to the same plugs as the old receiver, but there has to be some "filter" I can get, some method of plugging something into a different wall socket that will make this stop. When I had X10 there was a plug you could get for "noisy" televisions and other appliances that created so much noise on the line that X10 would be disrupted. I suspect that something like this is occurring. Any thoughts would be appreciated. The last thing to know is that my video is distributed - everything is in a closet and we run the video using baluns to the televisions. Thanks, Bill
