rosenqui
I'm shopping for a few new TVs (new house) and I want them to:work well with C4 pass 5.1 audio from HDMI to a soundbar (Sonos Playbar with Sub)According to CNET, Sony, Vizio, and Toshiba models consistently pass 5.1 audio through to a soundbar, but Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sharp, etc. are hit and miss - mostly miss. The new Vizio M (1080p) and P (4K) models look like good value - has anyone had especially good or bad experiences with them in a C4 setup? Any comments on picture quality or anything else compared to Samsung/LG/etc? We're doing HDbaseT and a few of the rooms will have a Sonos Playbar+Sub+surrounds, so it would be a real step back to always be feeding 2 channel PCM into the Playbar. I notice some older threads commenting about discrete IR codes for Vizio but not much else.
Matt Lowe
Sony and Toshiba have a slew of certified drivers. personally i wouldn't bother with vizio unless for a guest room or outdoor tv that you can toss when it breaks
ILoveC4
I've got a few beefs with Vizio. 1) IR only control2) no discrete input selection3) can't buy parts. When it breaks you just throw it away
