x305Candyman
Hi, My neighbor has a HC-300 system and had to change his receiver recently. His dealer now lives out of town, and lost contact with him. I would like to know if there was a way to extract the program, back it up, and modify it without dealer access. When we log into his profile and check the software tab we can only download Composer Media Edition. My understanding is that the media edition does not allow you to change components. Please point me in the right direction.
brucecampbell
Only Dealers have access to Composer Pro edition. Only in Pro edition can you add and remove components and set up all the connections/bindings. You can purchase Composer Home edition to allow the end user to do programming. To sum up - you need to have a dealer do the work for you, some dealers can do the work logged in remotely - there will be plenty on here who can help or point you in the right direction if you can't locate your original dealer.
