3-Way Dimmer

DIEHARD

Question

I understand how the Aux switch method works but can you have two (C4-DIM1-Z-x) control the same light? As in the one is just basically a wireless keypad and doesn't have anything on it's load yet is programed to control the light on another dimmer switch?

No, a single dimmer can control the load, multiple dimmers cannot control a single load.

The proper way to have multiple locations (like 3-way or 4-way switches on different walls) controlling a single load is to have a single dimmer, wired where the load is wired, and then to have multiple *keypads*, which look just like dimmers, and then bind the buttons on those keypads to the dimmer, so the button will work just like the buttons on the dimmer.

The one thing to consider when looking at placement for dimmers / keypads is to remember that if the Control4 system is down or otherwise unavailable, only the actual dimmers / switches will control the load, so I'd suggest you put the dimmers / switches in the location most logical for controlling the load.
