danlevine
We have used a very inexpensive Component Video / Audio Switch with C4... It works amazing... It's actually kind of funny how well it does work...
avwilliestyle
we use the mediaplex 8x8 or 16x16 and it rocks

TrikinCurt
We use Keydigital 8x3 (and soon 8x4). Drawback to the one Dan mentions is only two output - is it stackable? For bigger installs we will use the AudioAuthority system over cat5 when it ships.Curt
swoop19
Am I mistaken or is the one Dan is using not a matrix switcher and the 2 outputs are the same signal. I have checked it out and it seems to just be a 4 way selector that can feed 2 identical signals out.

I have checked it out and it seems to just be a 4 way selector that can feed 2 identical signals out. It's definately a Matrix switch... I definately don't recommend this unit over a Keydigital, Knox or one of the other high end brands if the budget allows for it. But for the money ($139.00) this thing works perfectly. We literaly use it every day in our showroom. You can make it into a 4x4 by using 2 of them and couple the inputs together...Basically you'd be getting a 4x4 for $280 + 20 Y adapter (with audio). They are releasing a new version with Digital audio that should be really good too...
TrikinCurt
My only question would be on run lengths, have you had trouble going long distances with the budget switch?Curt
Guest
I'm using this switch but I'm getting some static in my audio and a little "noise" in my video. I'm making runs of ~40 feet. Anyone else getting this? I'm sending HDTivo and DVD through a splitter/amplifier, then to the switch.
Guest
Oh I forgot, this is my 2nd switch as the first one was amazingly messed up. I couldn't even get a distinguishable picture from one of the outputs. Is there a problem with shielding within the unit??

alinford
Dan, In a 4x4 matrix box setup (coupling 2 of these together), how did you set up wiring out to each tv?Did you run component and audio home runs to each TV location from the coupled boxes? nati
Dan,Is this a similar one? Your link was dead...http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=3108&sku=41107Did the one you reference handle HD video? If not, how can I tell if this one does?If HD video is a must, what are the most affordable quality Matrix boxes that folks have used successfully with Control4? danlevine
Hi Nati, That is actually the better video switch from them we have yet to try. This is the unit we use all the time. http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=3108&sku=40020 You can use pretty much any Video Matrix Box with C4.Dan

jedi7001
Dan is this thing still available? very interested. I really need a 4x4 or 8x4 thats not an arm an a leg. Component and analog audio to work with C4. so far, I found $800 for a 4x4.
lippavisual
I don't believe that it is available anymore. I've tried purchasing them a couple days ago and they were no longer on CTG or the Impact Acoustic websites. The only ones available were the more expensive ones, I think ~ $250 for a 4x2. danlevine
Be careful, that one for 250 I don't think is a Matrix...
lippavisual
Be careful, that one for 250 I don't think is a Matrix...Oh I didn't even give it a glimpse. I'd rather spend the money for the Key Digital's. Much better piece for the cost:)
