We have released the LG WebOS Smart TV IP Driver for Control4 for LG 2016+ Web OS 3.0. Must have "Mobile TV On" Setting.

This is the most feature rich TV driver to ever be released for Control4!

https://annex4.link/drivers/lg-webos-smarttv

Those interested please have your dealer contact us to setup an account, this process does require a 15 minute phone call for initial account setup, which is a short walk through of our platform and how it works.

The driver features the following and more

  • IP Control of Built-In TV Apps with Mini Drivers
  • Toast messages to popup on screen, ie. Door Open, Door locked, Door bell pressed, or any other message required.
  • Button bindings for quick binding to Lights or Lighting Scenes upon TV power on or off
  • Mouse Mode
  • Auto Input Select if input changed outside of Control4, ie. LG Remote used to change app.
  • Volume Level Feedback
  • Mini Drivers - Vudu, Hulu, Amazon Video, Netflix, YouTube, Crackle, Google Play, Plex, and more
  • Many More Features

FYI - All of our drivers have a 21 day trial and we offer free showroom drivers to dealers

We are running a promo on the LG Driver until December 25 for 50% off all LG TV drivers purchased during that period.

We will provide the promo code to dealers upon account setup.

Ok, so the list of supported TVs is pretty small, what is the chance that if an LG TV has WebOS 3.0, its supported?

As long as the TV has the Mobile TV on setting the driver should work.

There may even be some webos 2.0 TVs that work as I have heard a few have the setting also.

The list is just what has been seen so far, that is why it says known working. There is a 21 day trial but every TV tried so far has worked provided it has the "mobile TV on" setting

Your trial is appreciated, but this could actually drive a Black Friday or Super Bowl timeframe TV purchase for me, and a TV is something I want to avoid returning if possible ;)

If the TV has the mobile TV on setting then 99% chance it will work.  We have heard of some people having WOL issues not with the LG but with other devices.  That would be the only reason the driver will not work.

I just did a WebOS 2.0 TV with a dealer so I can confirm that some of those exist also.

We now have mini drivers for UK apps

Amazon UK
BBC iPlayer
Now TV

We have also included a property to set the volume level upon turning the TV off.  Watching Netflix tends to require higher levels of volume so if the TV was turned off when Netflix was last watched the volume can be extremely loud when the TV is turned on again. This property solves that issue.

It seems a few have been trying to use the driver with WebOS 2.0 TVs, although the driver works and the API is the exact same.  The WebOS 2.0 TVs do not seem to have the QuickStart Option the WebOS 3.0 TVs have, without this there is a 30-40 second delay upon startup before the TV will take a command.

The driver has not failed on any WebOS 3.0 TVs setup so far.

You can but so far it seems the WebOS 2.0 TVs do not have the Quick Start Option which means after power on there is about a 30 second delay before it will accept a command.  So you can but really it's only good in a scenario where you have a receiver, or where you only need power on and off from the TV.

Driver First thoughts

Easy setup process

great instructions

Great feedback from the tv, and numerous features.

with in about 20 minutes time i had setup 20 LG web OS 3.0 tv's on our show room floor, and they turn on in sync turn off, give pop up messages of the garage door status and have a neat input sensing function that may be great for older customers or customers with kids.

Overall great driver solid features, and really what every tv driver should be!
