uddinz
I recently picked up the Nvidia Shield 2017 16gb version with a Flirc since it doesn't have a IR input. I have the nvidia driver but the commands are being recognizing. Anyone integrate a nvidia shield with flirc into Control4? Any ideas ? Thx. msgreenf
Do you have the IR guide for the FLIRC? You would need to make sure your driver is putting out the right IR codes
uddinz
No. I am assuming you are saying I have to program the FLIRC. If the driver being used is the an NVIDIA Shield IR driver what do you program the FLIRC as?
msgreenf
You need to do 3 things. 1 plug the flirc into the shield --> then you need a flirc driver in control4 that can send the IR commands to the FLIRC that it expects for up, down, left, right, etc. That is the part that I can't find any documentation to do. msgreenf
but i think with the flirc you can program on both sides what the IR commands should be. So it seems like it somone writes an IR driver + a flirc configuration profile that would achieve this?
uddinz
figured it out. You need to install the FLRIC software on your PC, perform any firmware upgrades and then load the profile attached. Then the C4 Shield Driver works. for those of you who need it here is the FLRIC config file. The buttons are: Up Down Left Right Select Prev (mapped to CNCL) Home (mapped to MENU) my_flirc_config.fcfg
thegizzard
How well does this work? I bought refurbed shields just for the IR receiver. If the FLIRC is 100% I will go that way for my next one.

Viking
Hi Is anyone running KODI on Nvidia and controlling using FLIRC? Just interested in how you might be handling KODI buttons like 'contect menu' etc?

I have control4 as well and I want to be sure that the full integration is possible. Did you run into any issue with the nvidia shield getting into Sleep mode?. Maybe an unsleep mapping button?. Could you please describe where did you get the C4 Shield Driver and configuration steps in composer?. C4 Shield Driver have de IR codes to send to the FLIRC, right? O.o Thanks in advance!. JustinL
I have a C4 driver for the pro version. Working on getting one for the smaller shield that doesn't have IR with flirc right now. Will post when done.

videostorm
We have another solution to control Shield via IP now. It works great on the shield also. Very fast and no need to program a flirc. It also adds an extra IR output (so instead of using one up, it gives you one more).
