Hi Alan, any idea on timeframes, also will this new driver with more channel be an auto update or will it require dealer intervention or can I do it with HE, I am new so forgive me if this is a stupid question. :blink:

The update will be out next week and will be issued via an auto update.  Note that you may need to add in the Sky Q IP address via the drivers properties which can be done via Composer HE.

Can you post on here when it’s available please so I can then add the IP address. Thanks.

Update

  • Sky Channels driver will now utilise the Sky Q box for channel meta data if the IP address of Sky Q is entered in the driver.
  • If the Sky Q box is not responsive then it will revert back to the Sky web service for data based on the selected Region.

Hi all,  I am a C4 newbie, I have installed the Chowmain Sky Driver at my home showroom and have IP control over my 3 x Sky+HD boxes, but I am struggling with getting the channel listings on any of the UI devices, what am I doing wrong, or not doing ?  I followed all the instructions, have I missed something or is there something else I need to install ?

Alternatively Control4 Technical Support in the UK are quite familiar with our driver so they may be able to assist if you prefer someone in your timezone.

Update

Version #20180521 – 21-MAY-2018

  • Updated Sky Channels to new online endpoint.  This should resolve limited channels returned for regions.
  • Genres are now dynamically generated rather than hard coded.  Means channels numbers will fit in dynamically to their respected genres nicer.

Guys, 

My old skyq box died and I had it swapped out today - Old box was IP address .70 new address is .77

However the driver is not picking up after changing it - My dealer as just dropped in a new driver still no luck 

Any Ideas ?

Alan - The box works fine with the Sky Remote, the IP address is correct (checked the number on the box and via a IP scanner), Power was set to Eco so changed that to none. 

Still nothing - the other two boxes work fine

Checked software and that up to date too  

All we get is

The issue is that it can't connect to the Sky box on that IP address.  It can literally only be one of the following..

  1. IP Address of the Skybox is not 192.168.0.77.
  2. You have some sort of network routing issue preventing Control4 from reaching 192.168.0.77
  3. Firmware is not on the newer firmware (post december update) - https://www.sky.com/help/articles/manually-update-sky-box-software

Your dealer should look into your network to see what the problem could be.

Alan,

It is Network and Sky are looking into it - We have a 2nd Sky Network (Somehow) which connects first then it swaps over to

our Sky Network - We are connected via LAN.

It even does this when connected direct to Sky Router. 

All very strange

Glad you pinpointed it and good news on Sky helping you resolve this.  Its the first i have heard of something like this and we are in pretty much every Control4 job in the UK.

Not sorted yet - We have 2 Mini boxes working with your driver and the main box for some reason not wishing to play. 

The SkyQ system is working fine. 

We have sorted the two networks out (Mesh from Main box to Mini Boxes) its now down to seeing if we can reach it. 

Sky Forum have told us to use the link below for a quick way to see box.

We are using a 2nd Generation Box Alan with the power supply outside of the box. 

One thing I will say they make one hell of a good remote control - Voice control / Volume control / Tv Control - So not too worried
