Others? Is there a simple comparison and/or recommendation? - are there ways to create shortcuts (like mini apps) beyond traditional channels? Use either the 2015 or 2017 Shields, or the 2019 Shield Pro. You need USB to attach IRUSB hardware. Our driver (VideoStorm) is free and does all the most common operations (IP control, app launching, mini drivers, etc). Chowmain is a premium driver and adds more Kodi integration and a few other features. I'm having odd problems with minidrivers and IRUSB native drivers on the Shield and Hulu does not work at all. I can't get any of the universal minidrivers to start an app from a completely powered down system; it just comes up the main Shield menu screen. From there if I try the UMD again it goes to the recently used apps screen. However, from the main menu screen if I use the colored buttons for a specific app it works, except for Hulu. No version of Hulu works at all, I have to scroll to it and choose it from the app menu in the Shield. Once I have an app open, if I hit a different colored button it immediately goes to that specific app (Disney Now pulls up Disney Plus which is exactly what I was hoping for,) but I f I use the Watch menu and a UMD it goes to the recently used apps screen. Here is what the debug gave me. The part before the break is using the Green button to try to start Hulu while the system is on the Shield main menu. The first time is with the app type set to Google Play and the second time is with the app type set to Google Play TV (which is how I have it set normally.) After the break is trying to start Hulu with the Watch command and a UMD. After the second break is with the system off and using a UMD to try and start Netflix but the Shield goes to the main menu, not Netflix. The same happens with any UMD from a powered down state. After the third break is the Shield sitting on the main menu, I then hit the Red button and Netflix starts. Once Netflix is open I then press Watch, choose Disney Plus, and the Shield goes to the recent apps screen. I added a WordPad file as well for download: Timer Expired. Composer pro hides the fact that it's "Send HOME on Power On." Composer Express shows me the complete description. It didn't help though. So from a powered off state I hit "Watch," choose Netflix, and I get the Shield main menu. If I hit "Watch" and choose Netflix again then Netflix will start. I can then press "Watch" and choose Amazon Prime and prime will start. The native color button commands work from here as well except of course for Hulu. Please submit a support ticket at http://netplay.freshdesk.com/ Include the LUA log for the problematic sequence. Also the exact hardware (Shield & C4 controller) and any other pertinent info. We can then reproduce the issue. Disney Plus is currently named "Disney Now" in the driver. Use the mini driver for Disney Now for Disney Plus. I swear I replied to this but apparently it didn't post. I do believe it's a timing issue with sending an app command before the Shield is ready from waking up. I changed the "On Room Off" from "Sleep" to "Home" so it doesn't go to sleep and the UMDs for Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney Now work. Is there a LUA log for the entire system when a Watch command is issued or are you asking for just a specific device/driver LUA log? If there is one for the entire system where do I get it? To update the driver table via lua, use: urltablegp["Hulu"] = "QLAUNCH android-app://com.hulu.livingroomplus#Intent;component=com.hulu.livingroomplus/.WKFactivity;end\r" Note that lua changes do not survive a controller reboot. In the driver.xml there are both "power_delay" and "power_command_delay" entries. Changing these and re-adding the driver had no effect. However, when I try to complete this, I get an error message saying BROKER. I'm not using Composer Pro but if you right click on your driver in Composer, there is an option to update but it's not letting me complete that. Is this a Composer Pro only function even though it's showing UPDATE DRIVER as an option when you right click on the driver and select the driver? ***2) As of a week ago, I'm having trouble with 1 of my 2 NVIDIA Shield boxes not working with the IRUSB on the main menu screen (ie Netflix, YouTube, Sling, etc) however it will work when I'm using Kodi.
