Gary Leeds UK
We have two Phillip Hue Sensors and came across this driver https://www.unilogiq.com/en/control4-drivers You need to add 2.10+ Temp Display Driver and the Generic C4 Sensor along with above gateway and you will have Full working C4 Sensor. Well done Bogby thedriverslab
k3nnis
Thanks. So 2.91 won’t work ? Also can we run different OS version across the C4 system? Ie let’s say I have a hc250 running on 2.10 and 2xhc200 running on 2.91? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gary Leeds UK
The sensor would work, just do not load the temp driver You can only run one software its worth a try you get 48 hour trail
k3nnis
ok thanks. I don't think the temp will be of any use to me as I don't have HVAC integration. Am I correct if this is the case?
Gary Leeds UK
These sensors can also be liked to the Security Light Driver - Getting better by the Day
k3nnis
These sensors can also be liked to the Security Light Driver - Getting better by the DayHi Gary. That’s good news. What does the security light driver do? And will it work on 2.91?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gary Leeds UK
Yes it will work on 2.9 - Its a driver were you can select a bunch of lights and turn these on or off when the sensor is activated
RyanE
BTW, the Security Light driver literally is getting better every day... A new version (Version 31) was released to the online database last week. Here are the changes listed in the documentation: * Fixed bug where timer was not being cleared when security function was disabled. * Changed to start timer on *motion no longer sensed*, turn on lights on both sensed and no longer sensed. For short timeouts (i.e. turn this hallway light on for 30 seconds), it doesn't work due to motion continuously being sensed. * Event names and descriptions were updated to be more consistent with when events will fire (Motion Sensed -> Lights Triggered, Motion Stopped -> Lights Restored). * Added 'ENABLED' variable, which can be used to determine whether the driver will turn on / off lights on motion changes. * Added 'Set Light Level' command, which allows programming to change the light level the motion will set lights to (useful for day/night programming). Cheers, RyanE Gary Leeds UK and thedriverslab
k3nnis
Thanks guys. Thinking to have the sensor activate a hue floor lamp when I walk past the front door when entering the house. Unfortunately my downlights in the hallway are not hue lights. I’m thinking to install a C4 wireless switch to my existing light switch to enable that feature.... will it look odd only to have C4 wireless light switch in certain parts of the house only? Can’t afford to have those wireless light switches all throughout the house.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gary Leeds UK
I would go with Hue light bulbs and Spot Lights - Works out cheap-ish and are very flexible We have 3 Spot Light Bulbs, 2 strips, 2 lamps, 5 white bulbs and 3 colour Bulbs and 2 sensors. All work with C4, Alexa, Apple and Google plus others

Gary Leeds UK
We have just added another sensor to the project - The best Value for money we have come across - Class We had a few issue with but our dealer sorted pretty fast - Love it what a classic - Very little lag - We now have 3 Senors
alanchow
How reactive is the Hue motion in Control4? I thought that the API was poll based which means it wouldn't be instant.
Gary Leeds UK
Alan we have not noticed much lag - we use it with a c4 pluck dimmer which turns on a light. Just tried it to see how long the lag is and it was instant

Gary Leeds UK
The sensor should will work on 2.9 (I think) but my dealer uses the 2.10 Temp Driver - I just like to see warm it is around the house

Dear k3nnis, the Hue Motion Sensor driver it was working also with an old 2.8.x (although I would recommend to update :). I would give it a try: just download it from here and try it out for 2 days https://www.unilogiq.com/en/control4-drivers Install the driver follow the installation instructions and connect it's output to a motion sensor from the My drivers -> Sensors -> Generic C4 motion sensor in the right side of the Composer. Bogdy
You're welcome! Remember that you cannot use the Phillips Hue Motion Sensor without a Phillips Hue Bridge.
