Just so I understand this puppy connects it self onto the Zigbee mesh that C4 is on? Or how does it talk to C4, Network (IP)? There is a control4 ip driver for it. The Vera creates its own Zwave network that the Zwave equipment connects to then control4 communicates with the Vera over ip. Every item you connect to Vera via Zwave, lights, blinds, door contacts etc. Will have an identity number. As well as the driver for Vera In control4 you will also need a driver for each Zwave item. Some manufacturers like Fibaro have created their own, others are generic. When setting up Zwave item drivers in Control4 you enter the identity number from Vera and it will be available in your project to program like anything else and it will show on navigators and remotes
Tidyloke
You could also have used the cheaper Vera Edge, works good for me. http://getvera.com/controllers/veraedge/

The vera plus has zigbee and Bluetooth as well but I doubt you'll need those. The Bluetooth feature doesn't seem to be compatible with very many devices and has been problematic for most. Vera has nothing to do with control4's zwave mesh (if there is one using the c4 zwave dongle). I'm not all that sure you could use both successfully without interference issues. Think of it as two completely different systems. Control4 can communicate with the vera and it's devices via the c4 zwave drivers which are specific to the vera and are titled zwave at the beginning. Just wanted to check. I know they make several models. I think I’ll pick one up and see. I have several door locks and don’t really want to replace them unless I have to. The Baldwin stuff looks nice but is definitely pricey. Someone also mentioned Bali shades working with a Vera and they are affordable. Those then talk to each other.Do I Understand correctly that there are some. Devices that have a direct driver for the Zwave device?

The C4 zwave driver is for supported devices that only work with the Control4 zwave dongle/module. There is a small list mentioned in this forum several times. The Zwave MiCasa Verde C4 drivers are for communicating with the devices set up in the Vera. Set up the devices in the vera first (pair them). 90% of the work is done there (not including physical install). Have your dealer add the Vera Zwave controller driver first and then add the other appropriate Zwave Mi Casa verde C4 drivers for each device in the vera. Add more zwave mi casa drivers as needed. Read the instructions in the doc tab. You'll see that full instructions are in the dealer portal. Support your dealer/remote dealer if this integration really matters to you or log into the dealer portal if you're a dealer. You're doing most of the work so you're going to save some cashola. sonic30101
You need the zwave drivers added into c4 for the devices that are on the vera controller then go into the driver properties and match up the room and device names and a device ID will populate when c4 sees the device
ralph
Hi First thank you for a quick response. I did what you stated, it did populated as you mention, however, when I drop down to connections / network I dont see anything populated on the zwave section?? Again sorry, novice level. lol, Please help... thanks Ralph
Tidyloke
If you have added the Mi Casa Verde Zwave drivers for each of your items, lights, sensors, blinds etc then they should appear on the left under system design and programming and you use them in composer like you would any other C4 driver. I haven't done anything with C4's built in Zwave but I'm guessing that's what would show in connections, network, Zwave.

ralph
hi, are you saying that Ive interconnected between Vera, driver on the control4 electronic lock (generic), I will or not be able to control the zwave lock on the control4 domain. If so that I can, I cant see on room control or inputs to configure. Is there a step by step.. Thanks Homerlovesbeer
sonic30101
you need a door lock relay driver (generic c4 driver) added and the zwave door lock relay needs to be bound to it and then it will show up on the c4 app and navigators
sonic30101
the documentation is lacking but with someone who has worked with it before it is very capable
schrady
Hello all, So when I add a Vera to Control4, I dont have to turn on the Zwave network in my project? Vera handles the zwave and Control4 handles Vera? Is that right? Thanks Schrady
dcovach
Right. Turning on zwave there doesn't actually turn it on unless you have the c4 zwave module and dongle. Only a small hand full of specific model zwave devices actually have c4 drivers. Vera is separate. Once you pair devices there, look for "micasa" drivers in the c4 database. GRV
I have zwave module / EA3 but I am having range issues to Kwikset lock. Does anyone know if there are compatible zwave range extenders that will work?
