Yale Conexis L1

I asked my dealer about a smart lock and was told Yale is the way to go, but they said they would use another company to supply and install a lock. So I ordered the compatible lock for my door, the Conexis L1, installed and set everything up, then found out the integration module is only available via a C4 dealer. So I asked my dealer for a price for the module, they told me £80+VAT for the module, or £270+VAT for a lock with the module in, and if I bought just the module it would be non returnable. I then asked about having it added to my project, but nothing more as I wanted to configure in composer HE. I was told 1 to 2 hours at £95+VAT, and then late told that could run up to three hours, that simply doesn’t sound right to me....

anyone else done this?

any dealers want to offer to help?

We have a Yale lock in our Project and £80 for the Module sound correct - We paid that

To get it on our system - we did remote and cost me £10 and then we did the programming via HE.

Check out user SENSE - He is selling some T3 on the for sale section - Sounds like your dealer is having you over

I have just bought the Yale Conexis L1 Smart Lock and fitted it to my front door and paired 2 fobs and a mobile with it and created a virtual mobile key for another mobile all working beautifully, I got the Control4 Zigbee Module off my dealer for £75 + VAT. I have fitted the module but no matter what I do it isn't showing up in ComposerPro when I follow the steps in the manual, I don't want to have to pay my dealer to come out and push a button.... I am thinking of factory resetting it and trying again from scratch....

Please can you share the name of the Dealer who got this all configured for you.

and to be honest, their quoted price of £95+ VAT sounds more than reasonable if it was going to inolve a truck roll to site to perform just this one task.

I agree that it can be done entirely remotely though, with you fitting the lock and ZigBee module yourself and then them performing the identification and programming remotely with you at the other end doing the necessary on the lock to ID it. I would still expect a minimum 1 hour remote programming charge from any dealer and if things do not work out remotely then you could be in for a truck roll and the associated costs on top of the bill for attempting to do it remotely.

It is all dependent on many factors, including how good the ZigBee strength and mesh config is where the lock will be located.

In case it's of interest, I also offer remote programming services and am very familiar with the Yale locks, having recently installed over 20 of them into to luxury golfing villas, one for every guest room. PM me if interested.

Just for clarity to the OP and everyone else on here, in the UK the correct price for the Yale ZigBee module is £80 + VAT. All priced listed on the C4 portal are ex VAT prices.
