Alkaline or Lithium Polymer Battery

I have a Control 4 SR260 Remote that uses either 4 Alkaline Batteries or a Lithium C4-RBATT-250 battery.

Can someone comment which is better or more  cost effective? My Lithium just died after only one year...I just installed 4 Alkaline batteries because I did not have an extra Lithium battery laying around.

Actually, don't know where to buy a Lithium battery or even know what they cost.

Thank you

Thank you BBB....

Yes,  I have the docking station but the remote will not recharge...I ended up putting in 4 batteries and that worked,  so I know it is not the remote.

Looks like I may need a new C4 Lithium battery. Do you know where I can buy the L battery and how much does it cost?

Contrary to Zaphods sarcastic reply above, I did try  Amazon and got NO  results...

dcovach,

thank you for your reply.

i would think the magnolia installers that were here on friday did that......

i replaced a samsung tv for a bravia 75" 940E and techs came out to install all my equipment and were working remotely with a Magnolia Control 4 technician.

it worked fine Friday and Saturday..Saturday night I noticed  the battery was draining so I put it on the charging station last night and when I got up this morning it was completely dead.

To get it to work I installed 4 alkaline batteries and its working fine now.....

Did the red light on the charging station turn on to indicate it was charging? Make sure the charging station has power and the remote was fully seated on it?

You can also make sure the remote is set to charge by pressing List and selecting Settings - Config - scroll down to Recharge Station and make sure Yes is selected.

All basic things you probably already checked.

BBB,

I think you may have fixed the problem...I went to settings and the Recharge Station was set to NO...switched to Yes.

Now we will wait to see if that works...thank you.

Not sure how it ever got switched to No to begin with.

I did it earlier...and it appears that was the fix...as I mentioned, this was only a TV and Receiver change out. I had Control 4 before and n never had a problem before. Why it switched before is anyone's guess. There is no doubt that the Magnolia Tech should have checked before he left on Friday.

I have a Control4 system and have generally been happy with it. One issue I have is connecting to my home WiFi. Every time I have a disruption with my internet, change providers or major trouble shooting by the provider, the devices I have that rely on WiFi get disconnected. That’s really only my Apple TV but my Control4 rep isn’t all that responsive for a small issue. Is there anyone out there that can tell me what I’d have to do to log my Control4 onto my WiFi?

Have been reading this C4 forum with interest. I have a Control 4 system with SR-260 remotes. All are programmed accurately to charging stations.

The system has worked fine for 5 -6 years and the remotes are starting to have problems?

I am thinking that the batteries are just starting to die, not able to hold charge or that the contacts between the battery, the cover and the charging station are not working well?

It seems that all three remotes are starting to malfunction within about 6months of each other?

Do I need new batteries/covers? I saw somewhere that there are updates that may be needed to the OS for Control 4?

Should I be getting the updates done?

thoughts?
