Texecom Premier Elite setup

Recommended Posts

Strarted working straight away

you can use all the sensors as triggers for programming ~ lot cheaper using Texacom senors than C4

need to get your dealer to do all the bits and bats.

Our alarm guys think I’m a bit wired buying extra senors for £55 fitted and programmed into the alarm 🕺🏻🕺🏻

My alarm installer is insisting that I need IPCom to interface with Control4. Does anyone have any documentation which refutes this other than me just saying Gary’s system works?!

Thanks

The Control4 driver documentation does state that an IP-COM is needed (I looked it up this morning for something else), but I think they may have written the documentation before the SmartCom was released!

Thank you - I think I am clear for now. Was there anything tricky you had to do to get the SmartCom to connect to Control4 after using the app or did it just start working with the Control4 driver immediately and dropped the app functionality?

Thank you

Sorry all ready responded

I've only ever used the IP Com and it works really well within C$

Has anyone managed to use a smart com with C4 & the Texecom app?

The IP Com only uses one port so we lose Wintex access on course, which is a bit of a pain.

Or has anyone manged to get Wintex through on a DualCom UDL while using C4?

You can always add an extra IP.com

Anyone using texecom_security_panel_network.c4z driver version 16 dated 30/10/2018 on 2.10.6?

If so, does the Control4 Navigator UI Arm/Disarm button work?

Contro4 driver debug shows the following:

(PARTITION_ARM) Partition(1) Arm Type(Part Arm 2) User Code(xxxx)
(PARTITION_ARM) Failed because user does not exist
[string "Lua Code"]:3811: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value) (ReceivedFromProxy)

Note: Valid user Code in debug xxxx'ed out

Have not setup a default user code on Control4 side for security reasons.

But am entering a valid user code into Navigator UI that works on the Texecom Keypad.  Expecting Control4 driver passes this on to the Texecom panel to determine which Texecom user is setting the alarm.

Can confirm that we are able to connect to WinTex.

We have Smartcom  but unable to connect to the App (Using C4 to control)

Software Version 4.01

Thanks Gary.

Is that using Wintex and C4 through the smartcom or Wintex via a DualCom UDL?

Not been able to use the Set / Unset button.

I use the virtual keypad to set and Unset.

Can set and Unset using the a programmed hard / custom button though or as part of a macro.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm having real trouble with this Texecom driver.

Have used it successfully before but struggling on a new 2.10.6 system where the Texecom panel is on V5... has anyone else tried this?

Control4 tell me to speak to Texecom, Texecom tell me to speak to Control4... getting nowhere!

Thanks

  • 10 months later...

I'm running Control4 Version 2.10.6 using Control4 Driver "Premier Panels IP" as I have fitted a COM-IP module to the Com1 port of the Texecom Premier Elite 24 Panel running Ver 3.01.

It works well, I think there is a newer driver out for newer versions of Hardware/Firmware, but it depends what panel & Firmware you are using I guess.

I have Zone contacts "bound" to Motion Sensors to program Lighting Scenes if the area is below a certain light level.

You can create macros to Set / Unset the Alarm via Keypad Presses or any number of Input methods.
