IR remote screen

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to change what is shown on the IR remote screen in the C4 app. I am talking about the remote that pops up when you open the C4 app, go to a room, hit watch, and then select a TV (that is IR controlled). It's a pretty terrible selection. It's got channel up/down but no volume up/down. Don't worry though, it's got Page up and Page down... Which isn't even an option for any TV's I know and for some reason they fit that in there but not volume up or down. It's so frustrating and backwards (like many things C4).

The remote that pops up when you double click the driver in Composer is great and has all the options.

Side note: Is there any way to not have it automatically hit Power ON when you click Watch, and not have it automatically hit Power OFF when you power the room off. If I edit the driver and select "assume device is always on", I lose functionality of the power button on the app remote (I know I could make a custom button but that would make things very clumsy).

Nope, but volume up down is the volume up / down keys on your phone or tablet.

That's why you don't have virtual buttons you have hard buttons on the side of the device.

they fixed that in the Control4 OS 3 app, and they even added a "gestures" option which allows you to simply swipe your finger around and tap the screen instead of having to look down at your device and find the arrow and select buttons.  I would upgrade to OS3 if possible with your configuration.

Is that an option for the volume for any device? I always have to use the volume controls in the app

It should be on a correctly set up system. The phone / tablet volume controls become the audio endpoint volume controls.

Yes, the bug was iOS only so they left it in the Android version and removed from iOS.

OP - do you not have the volume buttons visible in the bottom media bar? If the room is on then you should have these available which will control the volume of the endpoint for the device.

Why would you want the TV not to turn on when you are watching it? And why do you want it to stay on when switching the room off? Trying to understand your use case so as to advise on best solution.
