dentalben
Do the LUE1 baluns on the Leaf HDMI matrix require a POE LAN connection to work? Or will they be fine on a regular network switch? Is the LAN connection even required (not the HDbaseT connection, I know that one's required)?
OceanDad
No - They get POH power via the matrix (Power-Over-HDBaseT) The LAN port on the LUE1 is to provide a LAN connection for convenience. For example you could use it to provide an ethernet connection to a smart TV, without needing another CAT6 cable running all the way back to the switch. Useful in a pinch. Simon Richardson
Hi, I have a C4-LU642L-KIT Matrix. I can't get the ethernet to work at the end of the C4-LU1E - my dealer says it doesn't work. I would like ethernet/data at my TV's. Any ideas ? thanks
JSTRONG
The LU-642L video switch cannot pass Ethernet out through the C4-LU1E
JSTRONG
Did your LU1E ship with your 642L Kit? I thought they only ship with the LU1 The LU1E Lan port will work on the other C4 video switches but not 642kit
Simon Richardson
no i bought the LU1E separately. The matrix itself I found on Ebay as I was building my system. Is it a hardware or firmware limitation ?
JSTRONG
Don’t know. But I do know that the 642 has never been able to pass Ethernet through the receiver.
Cyknight
Hardware, different chipset on switch side doesn't include serial, ir and 10/100.

Have you tested this, I just got off the phone with tech support and they said the LU-642L will pass Ethernet with the C4-LU1E but not the C4-LU1
JSTRONG
Hi Alt The LU642L data sheet shows it does not support it Take a look at the Doc showing all of the HDMI Switchers and they all support Ethernet over HDbaseT except the C4-LU642L
